Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I signed up for a XXXX 'hotspot ' for my business. After a few months I attempted to cancel the service ; however, despite confirmation via phone, the service was not cancelled and I continued to receive bills. Then, via XXXX 's chat feature online, I cancelled again. This time the service was cancelled ; however, I continued to receive bills. I contacted XXXX again via chat to confirm there was no outstanding balance and that the account was closed. This was confirmed, but I continued to receive bills. Finally, I received a letter from a collections agency ( Convergent ) attempting to collect the alleged outstanding balance. I contacted XXXX XXXX more times and they confirmed the debt was not correct ; however, I continue to receive bills. I contacted Convergent and forwarded them my correspondence with XXXX to prove I don't owe anything, but they never responded. Please help me resolve this. Thank you

I decided to look at my credit reports from the XXXX major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I am doing. I appreciate your effort in getting this matter resolved. Thank you. Consumer Complaint: Is now over one year, and when I believed the case was closed here we go again another request yet from another collection Agency. This is now the fourth agency sending this for collection and every single time my XXXX score is affected currently my XXXX score went down to XXXX down from XXXX. This fourth request comes from Convergent Outsourcing Inc . I have very politely explained to them ( XXXX XX/XX/2022 ), as done with the other collectors, that XXXX engages in the practice of overcharging its customers. In my case instead of billing me for 7 days they billed for 30 days. so it is so clear that despite the efforts of the CFPB these type of establishments ( Debt Collectors ) continue to engage in unfair, deceptive acts and practice. They state on their letter that they have verified the validity of the claim and that is false. I refuse to pay more that owed. You can see the type of damages they can cause to the consumer. Look at my XXXX score from XXXX to XXXX. I hope a stop can be put to these entities from acting without any regards to the damages their actions can cause the consumer.

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: The company of Convergent Outsourcing seems to have purchased debt I supposedly owed from another collections agency. However, not only was the account not mine in the first place, I already got the collection removed from my credit score several months ago, making this a repeated attempt at trying to saddle me with debt that is not mine. It also seems like the debt is being marked as new, making it so that it is on my credit report for longer. One last thing Is like to not is that I never even received any sort of communication from this company.

Consumer Complaint: Convergent Outsourcing XXXX is charging me for an account I have no knowledge of for {$820.00} I have disputed this account several times, called XXXX and XXXX as directed by credit bureaus, and am told there is no such account found but they're answering the disputes as accurate. When in fact XXXX in XXXX of XXXX put an account on my credit for {$250.00} for a supposed phone bill and removed it realizing their mistake. The XXXX should be taken off as well if there is no such account found when I call them. But it remains hendering my credit.
