Upon further research, this account was transferred/sold and I am no longer responsible for it. Debtor 's creditors did not verify this collection. Also there was no written form of communication, contract or signature for this account debt at all. A bill without signature does not validate the debt and anybody can send a bill and say it is mine. According to the FCRA XXXX XXXX XXXX and JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM has violated my rights as a consumer and I requesting legal action to remove this account immediately.

Consumer Complaint: This is a complaint against XXXX, Jefferson Capital, and XXXX regarding a collections on file from XXXX XXXX. This collection originated from XXXX for an early termination fee ( ETF ). I have not been a customer of XXXX since XXXX. When making plans to cancel my service with XXXX, I spoke to the customer service department to get the correct date for cancellation. I kept my service for another six months in order to cross the contract 's line before terminating as instructed. I was never invoiced for this ETF from XXXX nor did I receive any calls regarding this fraudulent charge. In XXXX, XXXX sold the bogus debt to Jefferson Capital, INC. Jefferson Capital has contacted me by phone multiple times, however I told them to send me the details in the mail so I had them in writing before determining what this collection was for. They never complied with my multiple requests over FOUR YEARS. Because of this failure of being upfront and credible, I've stopped answering any of their harassing phone calls and refuse to deal with them anymore. I've disputed this twice with XXXX and they say they have done a satisfactory investigation into the matter. It is clear they have not because XXXX dropped this exact collections filing IMMEDIATELY upon receiving my dispute. I attached XXXX XXXX documents to my dispute filing with XXXX to serve as proof and make their job easier. XXXX ignored said attachments. This is a ridiculous abuse of power over a small consumer 's credit during a time many of us need the protections of credit the most.

Since I have no contract with this company, Im entitled to know the specifics of this debt. I sent this letter certified / return receipt, so I know they received it on XX/XX/2020. I advised them of their requirement by law to provide this information to me per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( b ) I asked for the following items. It is imperative that collection companies be required to follow the law, as anyone could send me letters and say I owe them, without any proof. To date, this collection company has not responded, by providing the required proof. Agreement with your client that grants you the authority to collect on this alleged debt. Agreement that bears the signature of the alleged debtor wherein he/she agreed to pay the creditor. Any insurance claims been made by any creditor regarding this account. Any Judgments obtained by any creditor regarding this account. Name and address of alleged creditor. Name on file of alleged debtor. Alleged account number. Address on file for alleged debtor. Amount of alleged debt. Date this alleged debt became payable. Date of original charge off or delinquency. Verification that this debt was assigned or sold to collector. Consumer Complaint: This year during the pandemic ( Covid-19 ), I tried to dispute this alleged debt with Jefferson Capital System with the credit bureaus. The bureaus never sent me any information regarding this alleged debt so know I sent a No response back to credit bureaus and now I'm sending a Debt Validation letter to collector. Since neither debt collector nor credit bureaus have no proof that this alleged debt is mine, by law this debt as to be deleted from my credit report. Debt collector should be receiving validation letter via certified mail this first week of XXXX and now in this complaint. I shouldn't be treated like this especially during a pandemic, its hard enough out here trying to make ends meet.

Consumer Complaint: I looked on my credit report and noticed that I had a debt of {$2800.00} a debt that I never had any idea I owed the company that put this on my credit report has never written me nor called me. This information is incorrect the last letter I got was a bill for {$32.00} so now I have another bill that I have never received the company closed down and I have not heard from them since. I am disputing this bill for I have never received any verification other than {$32.00} I can not pay a bill if I have never received it I request for this account to go back to the original creditor and to reverse this charge as debt created with no notification to pay it how can anyone pay something when I never received the bill.
