Consumer Complaint: I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report this week and I found multiple inaccuracies on my credit report from the 3 major credit bureaus from a collection company that I never have dealt with before. I've attempted several times to ratify the issue with the original creditors and credit bureaus and they still reporting inaccurate, unverifiable information. I have disputed this item with the credit reporting agency and they reported you confirmed the account as valid. I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I am writing to request that you please provide the following information : 1. Please evidence your authorization under 15 USC 1692 ( e ) and 15 USC 1692 ( f ) in this alleged matter. 2. What is your authorization of law for your collection of information? 3. What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt? 4. Please evidence your authorization to do business or operate in this state. 5. Please evidence proof of the alleged debt, including the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature. 6. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. You have 30 days upon receipt of this letter to provide strict proof of contract. In the event you can not provide strict proof of contract, you must cease and desist any and all collection efforts and immediately remove any derogatory information reported to the consumer reporting agencies. In addition, you will need to provide me your agreement, in writing, that you are closing your file, ceasing collecting activity, and deleting all information related to this reference number from any and all credit reports youve furnished the information to. In the event you transfer this account to an attorney without providing proof of contract, and proving your claim, he/she will be immediate reported to the XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX for code of ethics violations.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: Jefferson Capital put a collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. Please be advised this is not a refusal to pay a debt, but a notice pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( b ) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested. I have no knowledge of this account with XXXX XXXX XXXX in the amount of {$2200.00}. They also stated per my credit reports that it was originally over XXXX XXXX dollars and that I made a payment last year. I have never made any payments and was never notified of this debt before it showed up on my report. It is fraudulent and not my account. Upon further research it has been found that even if this was a valid debt which it's not it would have gone to XXXX not Jefferson Capital Systems when they closed in XX/XX/2019. I request that you please verify the following information to assist identifying whether this debt is valid : 1. Full original account number 2. Date original account opened 3. Any written agreement ( s ) between myself and the original creditor stating I agreed to pay alleged debt 3. Consumer address at which original account was opened 4. Date of first delinquency 5. Itemized calculation of alleged debt If Jefferson Capital Systems is unable to provide the above identifying account information I will have no recourse but to presume the debt invalid and/or fraudulent and request account deletion from all credit reporting agencies without further discussion of payment in full or partial settlement. This is my attempt to verify the validity of this alleged debt and I appreciate your transparency and cooperation. Absolutely no phone calls. If correspondence is initiated by JCS in any manner other than permitted I will cease all communication ( invoking my legal right to request JCS cease communication ) with the presumption that the debt is invalid and that I own zero responsibility ( in part or whole ) for the repayment of said debt. Thank you for your assistance.

Consumer Complaint: Honestly I do not know the laws governing this issue or if I have a legitimate complaint. Unfortunately I have a few collections on my report because of myself being on XXXX and just can't pay them. The collections agencies close and open add and remove collections accounts at will. One moment the collection is on my reports and then they close it and remove it which causes my score to go up and down constantly. It is taken off my report and closed and as soon as my score goes back up they report it and open it again. This can't be fair can it? How am I suppose to get to a point where I can get back on my feet to even pay them when they play this game with the credit report. I have contacted the credit bureaus and they say the account is verified but i know this is an automated feature and no one actually looks at the information which is another unfair situation. I have been affected by the pandemic and this is really stressing me out there has to be something that can be done to stop them from playing games with my reports.
