Consumer Complaint: I first contacted Jefferson Capital Systems XX/XX/2020 about an inaccurate and unverified account from XXXX for {$640.00} I saw on my credit reports. I included the account number and what was listed on my credit reports by their company. They responded on XX/XX/2020 sending me a totally unrelated bill that is not listed on my credit reports at all, and had none of the information or account numbers I sent them that they are reporting to the credit bureaus. I again sent another certified letter XX/XX/2020, telling them they sent an unrelated account as validation, again listed the account I was disputing as shown by their company on my credit reports and asked them to remove the inaccuracies as they could not verify it. Jefferson Capital Systems responded on XX/XX/2020 sending yet again another bill that had no identifying information to link it to me, and a bill thats not even in my name, nor bears my signature, or verifiable proof as a means of validation. They are continuing to report this unverified account on my credit reports. I have also asked for their bonding agency information so I can file suit, and they have ignored that request as well.

Consumer Complaint: The debt collection company JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM continues to change the start date of the debt ... the XXXX XXXX debt was reported in XXXX originally ... I do not receive statementS from JEFFERSON CAPTAL SYSTEM monthly anymore ... they send a statement once every six months or so and then change the beginning date on my credit report to the date they have mailed the current statement ... this debt was supposed to be removed by XXXX XXXX in XXXX because the young men at the store ( a franchise ) were investigated for " improper account manipulation to gain commission '' and found to have fraudulently reported this information to XXXX XXXX ... Who in turn sold the debt to JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM ... I have not had contact with JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM since XX/XX/XXXX ... So they are incorrectly reporting of the beginning date of this debt ....

Consumer Complaint: I am filing a complaint against XXXX. On XX/XX/2020 XXXX processed a dispute request that I sent certified mail. The dispute for the account with JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM that starts with XXXX has been received and should be completed by XX/XX/2020. Source : XXXX Date Submitted : XX/XX/2020 Estimated Resolution Date : XX/XX/2020 Report Number : XXXX Account Number : XXXX Company : JEFFERSON CAPITAL SYSTEM Address : XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, MN XXXX On XX/XX/2020, XXXX reported that the disputed account had been updated. I reviewed the account and no information had been changed. The account is still reporting a fake open date that in fact has re-aged the account. The open date is reporting a dated more recent to reflect that the account is newer than it really is. They are reporting that the original balance on this account was {$1100.00} which is inaccurate. The account is reflecting that this is a term account for one month which inaccurate. I requested proof of this and was not provided any validation into all of these inaccuracies and false information reporting on my credit report. I also filed a dispute directly with Jefferson Capital System. The letter was sent certified mail, return receipt. I have received confirmation that Jefferson Capital System is in receipt of my validation letter. As of today, I have not received a response from Jefferson Capital System. XXXX is aware of all of the inaccuracies and they continue to report this account on my credit file. On XX/XX/2020 I re-disputed this account and specifically as XXXX to VALIDATE the debt. They refused to validate the debt. XXXX sent back a notification on XX/XX/2020 stating that that account was updated. The account is still reporting all of the inaccurate information that it had been previously reporting. Consumer Complaint: I was sent notification from a debt collector know as XXXX who was collecting on behalf of a company by the name of XXXX XXXXXXXX indicating that they had purchased the loan that was not in a status of collection after the original creditor XXXX XXXX went into tax forfeiture for failure to pay taxes and whose status of forfeiture has been confirmed by the the Office of the Secretary of State of Texas. XXXX, was forwarded a Cease and Desist Notification upon the entity giving notice to the consumer that they were collecting on a debt that was never in default to the original creditor. The original creditor gave no notice that XXXX was assuming the loan as a collection agency where there was a brief of contract on behalf of the XXXX XXXX. The initial correspondence received from XXXX was received by the consumer via email which is a compromise of the Service of Process Rules as a cited under Rule 21 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and that notice of a change in ownership for the loan was not properly serviced upon the consumer and the loan amount attempting to be collected was far greater than what was owed. On or about XX/XX/2020, the consumer received notification from a company by the name of the Jefferson Capital Collections who sent notification that their company had purchase the loan and that the consumer was now indebt to their company where the loan about was even more inflated than it was with the previous collector, XXXX. On or about XX/XX/2020, the Consumer contacted Jefferson Capital Collection Agency via a recorded telephone conversation and spoke with one of the Managers for the collector who was informed by the the consumer that they were in dispute of the debt and opposed any affiliation with a third party servicing this loan because the original creditor did not have the authority to pursue any business in the State of Texas due to their failure to satisfied their Corporate Franchise Tax Obligation, essentially barring their authorization to conduct business within the state of Texas because there is records that indicate that they were in compromise of the Texas Tax Code Rule 171. The Manager who identified herself by the name of XXXX, was explained the circumstances of the changes of ownership and the consumers opposition with the amount being collected as well as provided the information confirming the forfeited existence of the original creditor and was asked to cease and desist their collection attempts. The Manager by the name of XXXX assure the consumer that the account would be removed from his consumer credit report on or about Sunday XX/XX/2020, and that any further actions regarding the referenced account would have to be addressed directly with XXXX. The Manager stated and asked that the consumer permitted here to notify the credit bureaus that their company would not be pursuing any collection attempts on this account and would cease and desist all collection attempts as the consumer had requested as authorized under Public Law 104-208. However, on Sunday,XX/XX/2020, Consumer accessed his credit profile to notice that Jefferson Capitol reneged on their promise to remove the collection from the consumers credit report and even added the account to other reports which resulted in the consumer losing more than 60 points on his consumer credit score as a result.

Consumer Complaint: Be advised that this is a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g ( Sec. 809 ). This letter is being sent to Jefferson Capital Systems in response to a listing on my credit report. The listing states that I opened an account on XX/XX/2019 and have a balance of {$830.00}. THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE. I NEVER OPENED AN ACCOUNT WITH ANYONE IN 2019. I DO NOT OWE THIS DEBT. THIS DEBT IS NOT MINE. THIS DEBT HAS NO RELATION TO ME AND I NEVER TOOK OUT ANY CREDIT IN RELATION TO THIS PURPORTED DEBT. There is NO contract or other instrument bearing my signature, and therefore Jefferson Capital Systems is attempting to collect a debt for which they have no account level documentation showing I owe it. Because there is no proof of such, and I do not owe this debt, I demand immediately for Jefferson Capital Systems to correct the erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I ask Jefferson Capital Systems to provide the following information to me and the CFPB : Please show evidence of your authorization under 15 USC 1692 ( e ) and 15 USC 1692 ( f ) in this alleged matter. What is your authorization of law for your collection of information? What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt? Please show evidence of the alleged debt, including specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature and ID to assure youre after the correct consumer. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. Jefferson Capital Systems failure to respond, on point, in writing, hand signed, and in a timely manner, will work as a waiver to any and all of their claims in this matter, and will entitle me to presume that Jefferson Capital Systems placed this on my credit report ( s ) in error and that this matter is permanently closed. There is no proof, because none exists! Correct the record and remove this invalid debt from all sources to which you have reported it. I am under contract to purchase a home and this invalid, incorrect, and erroneous listing is preventing me from moving forward in building my dream home. It is causing me distress both emotionally and physically.
