Consumer Complaint: I write in response to a fraudulent Capital One account that was opened using my name and social security number. I discovered this account on or about XX/XX/2023 when I went to lease a new vehicle. The dealership ran my credit report and informed me that a Capital One card was adversely impacting my credit. I immediately called Capital One to file a fraudulent application / account report. I was informed that I would receive correspondence confirming that the account was closed, canceled and removed from my credit report. I did not receive any such correspondence. When I called to follow up on the status of this matter, I was informed that my claim was denied and that I would be responsible for this account because a valid payment had been made on the account. I have never applied for nor had any Capital One account. I do not know who made a payment on this account or that if the payment was valid or not. I am hereby demanding that Capital One comply with its obligations under the FCRA and to remove this account from my credit report immediately otherwise I will no choice but to proceed with legal action. Consumer Complaint: I purchased a too good to be true item online. The seller immediately charged my Capital One credit card for the item which carried the " XXXX '' banner and sent an official looking email with all the correct XXXX logos and contact numbers stating to log into my XXXX account for information on shipment status. I do not have an account with XXXX. I emailed the " merchant '' on XXXX different occasions with no response. I filed a claim with CapitalOne twice and they said they have closed the case and the charge of {$96.00} was reinstated to my account. They said I need to contact the merchant and work directly with them. I filled out Capital One 's form and told them twice there was no way to contact the merchant. I am wanting CapitalOne to deal with this and return the fraudulent charge.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX, I received notification from the credit bureaus that my Capital One card was reporting a late payment of {$6.00} which was incorrect. I paid the entire balance of the card in XX/XX/. Capital One agent informed me there was an outstanding balance of {$6.00} which was not included in the payoff which was error and that they will correct the credit bureau and waive all fees. I never received any statement showing an outstanding balance NOR received any communication from Capital One. Additionally, based on this incorrect late payment reporting Capital One decreased my credit line from {$4500.00} to {$2000.00} on my additional credit card. Furthermore, causing me to receive adverse action on my credit bureau. Per Capital One, it was lowering due to the credit reporting agency has reported a recent credit delinquency ie my Capital One card. The agent says there is nothing they can do but to submit a credit limit increase request even though the error was their fault. This has severely impacted my credit due to the credit utilization score. Capital One needs to remove the credit late payment and adjust my credit line back to the original amount to make me whole.

Consumer Complaint: My Rights and Protections as a a consumer were violated by Capital One, and I have exhausted all of my options at this point. I incurred a loss of upwards of {$4800.00}, because my Capital One Mobile Apps security had been breeched resulting in identity theft, fraud, and a plethora of unauthorized transactions through Debit, XXXX XXXX and XXXX a Large XXXX Transaction of {$2500.00} dollars was withdrawn/debited from my account in XXXX of this year, this was when I first noticed the fraudulent activity, I immediately filed a claim in XXXX once I was aware ( via my banking statement ). After filing this dispute, it was denied saying that there was no error found and that the transaction was made based on my instructions, this is false, Capital One enabled a fraudulent transaction via XXXX, which led me down a rabbit whole of verifying my transaction and finding that over XXXX ( and maybe more ) was slowly siphoned out of my account over months through a variety of unauthorized debit, XXXX XXXX and XXXX transactions. And to make matters worse, They closed my accounts in retaliation to me filing these disputes because they knew there was fraud but refused to refund me the stollen funds!
