Consumer Complaint: I was married to a man that got married with me based on fraud to gain citizenship without my knowledge, it appears that he also opened a few credit cards while we were together and used without my knowledge dating back to XXXX to create a business " fancy juice '', when I learnt about the marriage being a fraud I informed my lawyer, contacted the immigration, filed restraining order. I don't know what happened to him an dif he is still here or not but what I know is looking at these cards and amounts I have absolutely no idea of that he was the one opening them. he told me that he will destroy my life but I didn't think that he could financially this way fraudulently opening accounts under my name and using cards. CAPITAL ONE CHECKING ACCOUNT WAS NOT OPENED BY ME NEITHER ITS TRANSACTIONS, CREDIT CARDS WERE NOT OPENED BY ME. O I ONLY TRIED TO OPEN A CD BUT COULD NOT CONNECT AS I WANTED SO JUST LEFT THE {$100.00} DEPOSIT IN THE CD AND LAST THING I KNOW CAPITAL ONE SEND ME A CHECK WITH THAT AMOUNT, CLOSES ALL ACCOUNTS I WASN'T AWARE OF, RUIN MY CREDIT I DO NOT KNOW WHICH EMAIL HE IS USING OR USED. I AM SO FRUSTRATED AND NEED HELP WITH THIS

Consumer Complaint: My account has been locked and Capital one emailed and texted me to call their fraud department. When I call to find out why, they tell me in order to unlock the account that they need to verify my ID. However they can't use my cell number which is on file with them. I try to use their system to upload a copy of my drivers license and their system rejects it. When I ask to speak to a supervisor, they tell me there are no supervisors on duty and to call back later. When I aske them to call me back they say they can't call me, I have to call them. However the are willing to close my account if I want, without verifying my ID. This makes no sense at all.

Given that this fraudulent item is so old it is not reporting but it is tied to my social security number at capital one

The application was rejected because info didnt match records and was told to contact Capital One. I did on XX/XX/XXXX, was told to apply through the app using code a code. No code input was offered. I called back and wanted the account cancelled because they didnt give me the XXXX offer which the agent did. But then called back a third time and was referred to a supervisor who told me the second first and second agent erred as there was a workaround that the first and second agent should have offered and I was now ineligible for the account

Text back yes or noto protect your account. I texted XXXXCapital One denied the charges. Capital one then says-Let 's take care of this right away. We temporarily stopped the use of your card to help keep your account safe. Now let 's report any purchases you didn't authorize ( including this one ), and then we'll send you a new card. FYI, any unauthorized charges will remain on your account until you report them and get a new card. Tap this link to get started : https : //capital.one/fraud. Nope! Scam! I will be saving this message. Then capital text me and said-I didn't understand your request because I'm still learning. But I can tell you about your accounts and recent purchases, and you can also pay your credit card bill with me. I said No! In XXXX of XXXX I received a billing statement with a new account number ending in XXXX and a interest rate of 31.99 %. I called capital one to inform them about what was done to my credit card account. They told me that the only way that I could receive a increase in interest rate is that I would have to authorize to transfer my balance to a new credit card. I said that I didnt authorize anything so you need to decrease my interest rate immediately! The supervisor said that there wasnt anything she could do. She will try to see if she could get the manager to solve the issue. Then I contacted the CEO XXXX XXXX of capital one and told him about the problem by email on XX/XX/XXXX because nobody would resolve my problem that they caused on my credit card. I spoke to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX on the phone and he tried to deny all text conversations after I read them to him. I told him that I wanted a refund of {$350.00} for the interest that was charged on my new credit card that I did not authorize. I told him that I wanted to be compensated for the suffering that his company caused me for closing my credit card without authorization and charging me a high interest rate of 31.99 % on a new credit card that I did not authorize to receive. He said to me that I was right who wants a high interest rate. He said he would call me back with his decision, but he never did. Instead he sent me a letter via fed ex with changes to the card policy that said he can change anything in his credit card policy and close my credit card, as well as change the interest rate without notifying me first. I called and told him that he could not do that and it was against the law. I told him that capital one owed me {$350.00} for the interest rate overage on my credit card. I should not have to suffer for his employee intentionally closing my credit card account and transferring my balance to another credit card without my authorization.
