Consumer Complaint: My family pays our capital one bill using a certified check through XXXX XXXX. Have done for years. The XX/XX/2023 payment in dispute never arrived. We discovered payment mishap and canceled the certified check payment. Once the money was received back into our account I made and ACH phone payment to capital one. About 5-7 days later capital one found the missing check and tried to cash it- to their surprise it had been cancelled. Capital one then claimed they never got any money even after XXXX had taken it out of our bank account. Capital one opened its first investigation which ended XX/XX/XXXX letting us know they found the money. We have that letter. About 10 days later we found out another investigation had opened as now capital one said it didnt have the money. Capital one then asked for XXXX to open an investigation. They complied and about 5 weeks later on XX/XX/XXXX we can the acknowledgement that XXXX indeed made the error. Only now we also have an outstanding debt with capital one that capital one has doubled for no reason- in fact theyve opened another internal investigation as to why the amount owed doubled when no one has used the credit card in question.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 We contacted Capital One regarding unauthorized charges of {$2000.00} and {$6200.00}. We opened an official dispute of charges, one complaint for {$2000.00} and one for {$6200.00}. Capital One requested additional information. XX/XX/23 Capital One requested more information regarding the disputed amount of {$6200.00}. XX/XX/2023, We Faxed all of the information and documents and proof in response to their questions. This included the Contract with the merchant. XX/XX/2023 For the amount of {$6200.00}, Capital One requested additional information. XX/XX/2023 We Faxed Capital One the requested information and all of the documentation we had previously sent. XX/XX/2023 For the {$2000.00} amount. Capital One requested additional information. XX/XX/2023 For the {$2000.00} claim, we Faxed the requested information to Capital One, also included all documentation for the claim. XX/XX/2023 For the {$2000.00} claim, Capital One stated information we sent to them was incomplete. At this time they stated they would no longer assist us on the claim. XX/XX/2023 Amount of {$6200.00}, Capital One stated that our dispute lacked information they requested and they would be unable to assist us with the claim. XX/XX/2023 I contacted Capital One, Transaction Support Center, by telephone. They stated that they would reopen the {$2000.00} dispute but there has been no response at this time. XX/XX/2023 For the {$6200.00} claim : I contacted Capital One, Transaction Support Center via telephone regarding their denial of our {$6200.00} claim. I again requested proof that we approved the charge for {$6200.00}. The representative stated that no proof was submitted and they had only the word of the merchant. When I requested that this dispute be reopened, the representative stated that the time limit they had with the MERCHANT had expired. They can no longer pursue the dispute. WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANY TIME LIMITATION BETWEEN CAPITAL ONE AND THE MERCHANT. Apparently, Capital One allowed the time to run out without notifying me, their customer. Capital One has all of the supporting documents including the contract and supporting material. We have requested numerous times that Capital One provide evidence that we approved the disputed charges of {$2000.00} and {$6200.00}. THEY NEVER COMPLIED WITH THAT REQUEST.

Consumer Complaint: Since the initial claims were submitted, I have not been given XXXX solid reason as to why the claims were denied. The agents on the phone do not know anything and can not explain anything or guide along the process. I have also tried to send multiple rebuttals for each claim and they still have not been able to refund the fraudulent transactions on my account. It has been several months now and every time I speak with them over the phone, they have no idea what is going on. I have given sufficient evidence and explanation to support my claims and they have not requested any further documentation from me to support my claims. I have provided multiple documents including police reports, letter to FTC, documents showing proof of fraudulent bitcoin transactions, proof of identity, and many more.
