Consumer Complaint: The gift card in question is an XXXX XXXX prepaid gift card. The amount on the card is {$150.00}. I have not used any of the balance on the card and this is confirmed on the website that shows the cards balance. In late XXXX I attempted to use the gift card and it did not work. I called the phone number on the back of the card and the customer service agent reported that " someone else had tried to call them with my card number '' so they put a hold on the card. Not sure what that meant because no one else had ever had access to the card. So I proceed to open up a dispute claim with the company so I can get access to the funds. This was in the end of XXXX I am not positive of the date. On XX/XX/XXXX they sent me instructions on how to proceed with the dispute. I responded to their request for information the same day on XX/XX/XXXX and received confirmation that they received my documents. On XX/XX/XXXX they asked for more information and I responded the next day on XX/XX/XXXX and received confirmation that they received my documents. I was told this process would take up to 90 days to receive a response. On XX/XX/XXXX I emailed them asking for an update and on XX/XX/XXXX they responded saying " Your documents have been received. Disputes are worked in the order they are received. We will follow up as soon as updates become available. '' On XX/XX/XXXX I emailed they asking for an update and never received any response. I called them on XX/XX/XXXX and was told there was no update for me and to wait for a response to my claim by email. I called again on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that no documents regarding my claim were ever received. I proceeded to resend my documents so that they could work on my case. I received a confirmation email that my documents were received. I was told that the customer service agent was going to expedite my case and I would receive a response in 24-48 hours. On XX/XX/XXXX I still had not heard back from the company and I called customer service asking for an update. I was told no documents had ever been sent to them and my claim has not been worked on yet. The predicted wait time is now an additional 90 days.

Consumer Complaint: American Express Company is Acting suspicious after I Did complain to their employee XXXX on XX/XX/2023 of having my account charge {$25.00} dollar transaction fee due to canceled payment transfer or not approved by my bank. Explained to XXXX XXXX that why if I pay Monday or Any other day of the week AMEX charge so many days later the money in my back account making me problems of balance adjustments or even having issues to complete the payments due to been few dollars shorts for the reason they never take their money when I pay them. After few minutes conversation XXXX did not have a valid answer after I spoke to him that I have to cancel multiple payments because Amex don't charge on time and this is making my card been over limit because I never have control on my payment dates and I been charged fees of payment fail every time {$25.00} because they can't get their payment on time. Why to pay {$25.00} when other providers like XXXX XXXX allow you to pay {$3.00} to get your credit card payment fast on same day without waiting many days like American Express does to make their profit business charging XXXX dollars to each customer also, they scan my account and they also know when my business account have money why they always charge when the account is negative? After I complained to them, today XX/XX/2023 I been called and email requesting my private bank statement and blocking my account and even saying or discriminating against me saying they will close the account without no valid reason and sending me and email after many hours later of getting all my information saying the reason because I ask them. I would love this case to be investigated, I do not have any personal problems with this company but why they so scary after I asked about the {$25.00} fee been charged when they can take the money like XXXX XXXX does same day when actual customer have money in their bank account and avoid charging millions of dollars on fee on people that maybe is {$3.00} or {$10.00} dollars short and can't go to the bank because they don't have control of when a financial institution so powerful that even is XXXX scanning bank accounts and knows if have money or not with their called XXXX XXXX XXXX is charging money when they know balance is {$0.00}? I Think these tools are for improvement not to empty consumers account balance by charging {$25.00} dollars and having then pay late and their credit been affected.

I called Amex and they said I need to use it at a place that doesn't require a zip code but every place requires a zip code. I even tried adding it to online wallets and that did not work.

Consumer Complaint: American Express bank received an application for pre-approved credit. The property was taken and I got nothing in return. Bank has opened an account ( ref # XXXX ) in my name without my consent and denied credit, which is identity theft, restraint of trade, Misappropriation of funds and unjust enrichment. Furthermore, banks can't use credit reports based on privacy rights. I demand American Express bank to present credits to the United States Treasury for securities for my redemption. Interest and money are due to me. Set off discharge dollar per dollar of application preset in honor and good faith.

Consumer Complaint: Follow up regarding complaint reference # XXXX. We have spent over three hours trying to get Amex to refund our gift card. The information letter we received - passed on from CF ( you ) is to call a phone number, somewhere in the world. After about 4-6 minutes of talking the call breaks up. You eventually have to hang up and start over. Then you call and wait again to reach someone. You start to talk and explain and the call is dropped. We then tried to contact the Amex office in XXXX florida, ( the address on the letter we received passed on to us by you ) but no one returned our message. This has been a week ago. We have a reference number the first customer service rep gave us before the call was lost ( reference number XXXX ). We assumed since the process had been started they would go ahead and refund as we requested. But the card still shows the full balance today when we checked. They had my name, etc even wanted my full birth date ( is that legal? Why my birth date to refund my gift card ) we are not sure what the problem is but we do not consider this resolved. My wife and I have been long time Amex customers. After this we may begin to question our credit relationship with a company that provides terrible customer service- to gift card holders that are not regular customers. I called American Express and the say that since the cards are expired, they are no longer valid.
