Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Account opened without my consent or knowledge
Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo has not cleaned up its fake account scandal. Accounts were opened with deceptive business practices and then I was notified they would be charging me a {$35.00} fee. These accounts were opened during the fake account time frame. The accounts were never used and were not needed. Zero balance the entire time. Now I get a notice there will be a fee. I never needed or wanted this account but was lead to believe it was required. The bank says they addressed all of these sales practice problems, this have not.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I noticed a large check ( {$27000.00} ) had cleared that day through my bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX. When I clicked on the check, I did not recognize the recipient or the address. Then I noticed the font was changed. I immediately realized this check was changed and forged and deposited into a Wells Fargo bank in Pennsylvania. No account number was written on the back of the check. Realizing this check was deposited less than 24 hours prior, I emailed my Personal Business Banker at XXXX and called their Fraud Department to report this. The Fraud Department told me I needed to complete several pages of paperwork, which they will mail to me. I completed it all and immediately faxed it back to XXXX. I felt that valuable time was lost. I feel this would have been quickly settled had they only contacted Wells Fargo the day the check cleared in my account. At least they could have warned Wells Fargo that an inquiry was being made. As of today, Wells Fargo has not answered the 2 attempts that XXXX made in contacting them regarding this claim. My company is too small to just let {$27000.00} get stolen when I check my account on a daily basis for fraud and theft. I filed a complaint on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, Wells Fargo contacted XXXX and asked for information the same information that XXXX originally sent to Well Fargo. XXXX responded to this request on XX/XX/XXXX and sent them everything they requested. Wells Fargo followed up with 2 letters to me. These letters contain a phone number that does not work and the name XXXX XXXX When I get through to Wells Fargo on another phone number, no one has any idea who this XXXX XXXX is and needs a last name. Please help. How can a bank be so corrupt? Thank you

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Billing problem
Consumer Complaint: I am now financing a second vehicle through Wells Fargo. For the entire life of my previous loan, I would have to call them every month to correct them as to how the payments should be applied. My payment was about {$270.00} per month and I would send in {$500.00} to pay down the principal and save me some interest over the life of the loan. Month after month, they were applying the additional funds to future payments. I know this because, XXXX. ) the statement for the following month would show I only owed about {$25.00} instead of the regular {$270.00}, and XXXX. ) they told me this is how they processed payments. I referred them to their own paperwork which says that payments are ( in so many words ) applied first to interest, then any fees, penalties or late charges and the remaining amount to principal. Even after reminding them of their own wording and my XXXX years in the mortgage lending industry, they continue telling me that " these are their rules ''. They try telling me that once the future payments add up to XXXX months of advance payments, THEN they will apply any overage to the principal. If they do this to every customer that pays extra in hopes that they are saving interest, they are likely costing the public millions of dollars a year in undue interest.

Consumer Complaint: On or about XX/XX/XXXX I received again the following documents from ELLS FARGO in the letter attached it specifically states under documentation requests We apologize that we are unable to meet your request and provide specific reasons for this process. To do so would jeopardize the integrity of our investigations so again theyre denying to provide me authenticated evidence i.e documents, call logs, names, anything to support their findings of the transactions withdrawn from my account XX/XX/XXXX by a XXXX XXXXXXXX being valid or no error occurred but also refusing to reissue my securities back to my account. They also reissued copies of my bank statements which Wells Fargo has been made aware that bank statements are false and misleading representation of evidence and omitted from material facts, statements only show there is an account but it doesnt prove that I was aware of the transactions nor did I give consent, or have knowledge of the transactions in question being taken from my account.
