Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo is yet again doing illegal activity. I made a principal payment of $ XXXX on XXXX and at that time my current balance was {$88.00} ( rounding up ) Since then I have made several payments as well as additional principal payments and the balance is now at $ XXXX. It appears that Wells Fargo did creative accounting so that they could continue to charge me interest on a high balance as opposed to correctly crediting my account on XX/XX/XXXX. When the $ XXXX payment was made, the balance should have been $ XXXX, yet the balance id $ XXXX and I have made an additional $ XXXX towards the principal along with my monthly payment so the most my balance should be at right now is $ XXXX, not XXXX! Wells Fargo should not be allowed to get away with this and be fined a penalty. This is not the first time they have done this to me. The first time I bought their creative accounting explanation, this time I realized, it makes no sense! I should be given a credit for my overcharged interest as well! Wells Fargo keeps trying to make contact with me to try to convince me that their accounting is correct when it is absolutely wrong and they are still benefiting on interest charges off my incorrect balance! Wells Fargo has had a history of questionable activities and I can not be the only one that they are pulling this mortgage interest rate scam on!!!! I have various statements and they have questionable accounting and balances and are different on each statement??????? Correct whatever they did and pay a fine for trying to defraud a consumer! Pay a penalty for over charging interest on the high account balance that they did creative accounting on to continue to get away with. If they paid other things with my principal balance instead of just deducting the entire $ XXXX straight from the balance at the time of payment like they should have done, they should have to accept the losses for what they tried to do!!! I should not be penalized for their fraud attempt! They used my money and double dipped. They charged me interest on an incorrect balance and then used my money to pay them interest. Not sure what type of correction they attempted to make on XX/XX/XXXX, but as you can see they tried to backtrack and the balance is still incorrect, because they did it wrong in the first place and refuse to pay for all the attempts in fraud and continue to incorrectly correct my principal payment. The payment would be different and could be used for what they did if it was not a principal payment, but if it was a principal payment, so they committed fraud! Please look at the statement and you will see they only credited {$31000.00} in XX/XX/XXXX instead of the entire $ XXXX like they should have! They did attempt to fix it, but not the way it should have originally been credited ( on the entire balance )! Since XXXX payments totaling over of $ XXXX and my balance is still over $ XXXX when it started at $ XXXX something is VERY wrong!

Consumer Complaint: Subject : Unauthorized Credit Reporting and Demand for Resolution Reference to California FCRA Identity Theft Fraud Laws Dear WELLS FARGO, I am writing to bring to your attention a serious violation concerning the unauthorized reporting of information to my credit report, as per the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) under Sections 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ), 1681c ( a ) ( 2 ), and 1681s-2 ( a ), California Civil Code Sections 1785.11 ( a ) and 1785.25 ( a ), and identity theft fraud laws, specifically California Penal Code Section 530.5. It has come to my unequivocal attention that WELLS FARGO has engaged in unauthorized reporting to my credit report without securing my explicit consent. Federal law, as delineated in the FCRA, explicitly mandates that consumer consent is an absolute requirement for such reporting activities under Section 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ). In addition to federal law, California state law, specifically California Civil Code Section 1785.11 ( a ), emphasizes the necessity of consumer consent for credit reporting. Furthermore, Section 1785.25 ( a ) of the California Civil Code establishes clear guidelines for the fair reporting of consumer credit information. Simultaneously, identity theft fraud laws, such as California Penal Code Section 530.5, underscore the seriousness of unauthorized access and misuse of personal information. I assert with unwavering certainty that I have not provided consent for WELLS FARGO to report any information to my credit report. This lack of explicit permission constitutes a clear violation of my rights, potentially causing damage to my creditworthiness, and a disregard for federal and state laws. I demand, with utmost certainty, that WELLS FARGO immediately ceases any further reporting of information to my credit report without obtaining my explicit consent, as mandated by Section 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ) of the FCRA and California Civil Code Sections 1785.11 ( a ) and 1785.25 ( a ). Failure to comply within the stipulated 30-day timeframe will be considered willful noncompliance, subject to penalties under applicable laws, including identity theft fraud laws. I emphasize that obtaining consent is not a discretionary choice but a legal obligation under these specific sections of the FCRA, California state law, and identity theft fraud laws. This is not a negotiation ; it is a demand for compliance with both federal and state regulations, protecting consumers like myself from unauthorized and damaging credit reporting. I anticipate your immediate attention to this matter and expect that WELLS FARGO will promptly rectify these egregious violations, respecting my rights under federal and state laws. Done in good faith.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo stated that I rented a car from XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I've dispited the transaction several time and they insist that the transaction is valid because the card 's chip was used. I explained to them that the the chip was not used by me. I also told them there was no way for me to rent a car on the day in question because I was having a XXXX and because of the pXXXXXXXX XXXX I was unable to leave my home on the XXXX of XXXX. I sent the bank copies of my medical records to support my claims. I also contacted XXXX, the rental company to question the charge. XXXX indicated that the last record they had of me renting from them was in XXXX of XXXX. I forwarded this information to Wells Fargo, but they refused to include this in the investigation. The bank asked me if I had made a police report and I indicated that I had not because I started the dispute with them and didn't think I needed one, but I would file one. I file the report and gave Wells Fargo the case number. Wells Fargo indicated that they had supporting documentation of me making the charge, but would only that documentation was the use of the chip. I again stated that the chip was not used by me and stated that when renting cars one would need to sign a contract and provide ID. I asked the bank to provide me with that documentation. The bank would only repeat the chip was used. The charge to my card is close to {$900.00} and at the time of the charge my card was maxed out and there was not available fund on it. The only transactions I was doing on the card was payments.
