Consumer Complaint: I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to seek your urgent assistance in overturning a denied claim that I recently filed with Wells Fargo. As a consumer, I believe in the importance of accountability and fair treatment, and I am reaching out to you for guidance and intervention in this matter of utmost importance. Allow me to provide some background information on the situation. On XXXX, I filed a claim with Wells Fargo regarding fraudulent charges. I carefully followed all necessary procedures, submitted the required documentation, and provided a detailed account of the circumstances surrounding my claim. However, despite my sincere belief in the validity of my claim, I received notice from Wells Fargo on XXXX XXXX stating that my claim has been denied. This denial has left me feeling frustrated and helpless, as it directly impacts my financial well-being and undermines my trust in the consumer protection measures set in place. Recognizing the importance of accountability and justice, I am turning to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) for assistance and guidance in overturning this denied claim. I firmly believe that the CFPB has the expertise and authority to objectively assess the matter and ensure that justice prevails. I kindly request your intervention to thoroughly review my claim, examine the evidence provided, and assess the actions and decision made by Wells Fargo. In doing so, I am optimistic that the CFPB can help overturn the denial, providing me with the rightful resolution I deserve. Enclosed with this letter, you will find all relevant documents supporting my claim, including correspondence, receipts, and any other pertinent information. I trust that these materials will assist in your review and evaluation of my case. Moreover, I kindly request regular updates on the progress of my case and any actions taken by the CFPB in response to my request. Please feel free to reach out to me at XXXX or XXXX if additional information or clarification is required. I am immensely grateful for your attention to this matter and your ongoing commitment to protecting consumers ' rights. I firmly believe in the mission of the CFPB and trust that, with your intervention, justice will ultimately be served. I eagerly await your response and the resolution of my claim. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Consumer Complaint: While recently checking my bank account I noticed XXXX XXXX charges we did not make. This surpried me because at the time I was in the hospital recovering from a major XXXX and physically couldn't eat solid food ( can prove with documentation if needed ). We rarely use XXXX so I asked my wife about it but she too had not ordered from them. We checked our XXXX account and the last time we had ordered from them had been XX/XX/XXXX, the disputed charges were on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX from XXXX for {$52.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and {$57.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX charge from XXXX XXXX for {$47.00} on XX/XX/XXXX We bank with Wells Fargo Bank so I called them and submitted a claim for the XXXX charges and an additional XXXX charge I thought was fradulant but was a mistake. They put a hold on the funds for {$170.00} while they investigated. They sent me a letter a short time later stating my claim was denied due to my previous relationship with the vendors and they releasedthe funds. I then called them about the claim letter where they again told me I was being denied due to my previous relationship with the vendors so I requested the documents they used to make their decision as stated in the denial letter. They sent the requested documents which was several months of paper bank statements and a breakdown of their decision. We found the disputed charges on the statment and unlike on the Wells Fargo app i usually use the paper statement has part of the name of the restaurant in the description of the charge. I called Wells Fargo again with these recently relized details and the agent confirmed the charge was for a place called XXXX XXXX after I mistook it for a restaurant outside the US. But they again stated my claim was being denied due to my previous relationship with the vendor and no further action would be taken. I looked up XXXX XXXX and it is a XXXX of a kind restaurant in XXXX XXXX Califorina ... .. We live in Virginia . To further reinforce the charges are fradulant my wife made several purchases at physical locations in Virginia on the same dates as the disputed charges which proves we were in Virginia. It was right around the time I was being discharged from the hospital ( again can provide documentation if needed ). Common sense should prove the charges are fradulant because why would we order food on XXXX from a restaurant in California when we live in Virginia? I have banked with Wells Fargo for a long time and this is only the second time I had to deal with a claim ( the first time they actually alerted me of the fradulant activity ). I do not feel like my money is properly protected or thebissue properly investigated. The issue remains unresolved. We assume someone gained access to our XXXX account and somehow made the fradulant charges so have chaged our passwords and will be using alternative methods of payment when using vendors like that again.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX writing to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to seek proper handling of my claims to Wells Fargo to prevent illegal activities and abuse on my account. I was double charged and subject to illegal activities on my account via XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and the XXXX firm XXXX XXXX via XXXX. By rejecting these disputes on my account which took place on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/2023 respectively, Wells Fargo is claiming that double charges and XXXX XXXX did not occur and are hiding correspondence from the merchants conceming my case in a manner similar to XXXX XXXX propagated by XXXX XXXX and his affliates. Wells Fargo 's unscrupulous activities has resulted in a {$1600.00} dispute loss despite the fact the XXXX merchant had agreed to refund my trip via their own online policy ( attached ) and XXXX has already issued me a partial refund. By requesting me to file a police report instead of offering a full refund for these double charged purchases and illegal activities Wells Fargo 's is attempting to falsify and defraud XXXX citizens like myself and discredit the investigations of the XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. Wells Fargo, by rejecting my claim disputes are endorsing illegal activities such as a human trafficking incident that occurred with gotogate.com and has been reported to the Department XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX Department on XX/XX/2023 at XXXX XXXX. Wells Fargo is supposed to be committed to providing customers like myself quality investigations and disputes services but instead XXXX dismissed my claims in an unprofessional manner. Consumer Complaint: I opened a checking account with Wells Fargo. ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I ended up changing my mind and closed it the same day due to their reputation that I didn't know of. My initial transfer to start the account was {$500.00}. They did not take the money until after I closed my account. ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I thought this was strange that they took my money after the account was closed so I called Wells Fargo and I told them about the transaction that took {$500.00} from me and at first they said dont worry a check will come in the mail. I call 2 to 3 weeks later with no check in the mail and they denied that it was them even though it says Wells Fargo took the money. Wells Fargo said that I needed to submit a dispute with my other bank XXXX which I did and XXXX did not side with me on the dispute. I even had a group phone call with a XXXX representative and a Wells Fargo representative and they both said that they agreed that the charge wasn't valid because that account was closed. Please help me {$500.00} is a lot of money for me in the holidays.

Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to bring to your attention concerning issues I have encountered as a long-time customer of Wells Fargo for over 30 years. It appears that there are instances of predatory banking practices that warrant further investigation. On numerous occasions, I've experienced overdrafts, often coinciding with delayed deposits or what seems to be a deliberate holding of drafts to trigger overdrafts in my account. Additionally, Wells Fargo has acknowledged errors on their part, refunding charges only after my intervention. Without my proactive steps, these charges would have remained unjustly imposed. I am deeply concerned about the potential harm caused by such practices and believe that federal oversight is necessary to prevent similar instances from affecting other customers. I kindly request a thorough investigation into Wells Fargo 's banking practices to ensure accountability and safeguard the financial well-being of its customers. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Consumer Complaint: There was a XXXX booked on XX/XX/2023 by someone other than myself using my debit card without my permission. The total was {$3600.00}. The booking was canceled on XX/XX/2023. The owner stated there were no refunds. I contacted XXXX to fix this, to which they said it was up to the owner 's discretion. They gave me the owner 's contact number to resolve. The owner stated he deserved the full amount for taking his property off the XXXX platform for XXXX hours. I explained it was not me who booked it and I could not afford to give him that much money for services not rendered. He refunded {$1300.00} and stated he would keep the rest of my money ( {$2300.00} ). I then filed a claim with my bank, Wells Fargo, who temporarily refunded {$2200.00}. They then concluded on XX/XX/2023, that I did give permission for this transaction and {$2200.00} was withdrawn again.

Consumer Complaint: This is about my problem with Wells Fargo credit card. I was overcharged, i.e. was double charged for the amount that I have already paid in the last month. On the last statement XX/XX/23 to XX/XX/23, I am incorrectly billed {$430.00}. What happened was that my payment for the previous cycle was not deducted from the total Purchases Amount. Wells Fargo billed me for the Total Purchases {$450.00} minus Cash Rewards {$14.00} which amounted to {$430.00}. However they didn't deduct my payment {$170.00} which resulted in billing me XXXX for the same amount in XXXX consecutive statements. The right way to do it would have been : {$450.00} ( Purchases ) - {$170.00} ( Payment ) - {$14.00} ( cash rewards ) = {$260.00} - the correct amount to be billed. However I am billed for the {$450.00} - {$14.00} = {$430.00} which is incorrect. Whatever happened to my payment? It disappeared aka not deducted from the total Purchases. I want this overcharge to be refunded.
