Issue: Repossession
Subissue: Notice to repossess
Consumer Complaint: In early XXXX of this year XXXX, I received a check from Wells Fargo for {$16.00}. I cashed the check thinking it was for something else? I decided to give them a call, and they told me this was for my auto loan from XXXX. I purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXX. They said that throughout my loan, this was for the reimbursement for all of the wrongly charged fees on my account? I requested a payment history from them, as well as a call from someone, because I felt that may be incorrect? A gentlemen named XXXX called me a few days later, saying he was from the executive office, and he was very rude. He said really much of nothing. I told him that my car was reposed right after my bankruptcy was discharged, which I checked was on XX/XX/XXXX. I received no notice or anything, and my car was reposed on XX/XX/XXXX? He said they sent me a letter on XXXX XXXX, and I said there was no way you could have sent me anything during my bankruptcy, which wasn't discharged until XX/XX/XXXX? I requested him to send me a mediation packet, and he said he doesn't do that, and that I would have to call settlement mediation and request for one to be sent to you? I called that department, and spoke with XXXX, and he said I was not eligible for that, and I would need to speak to the executive office again? I called them back, and asked to speak to XXXX 's superior. A man named XXXX said he was XXXX 's superior was very rude to me, in fact he told me that we own this vehicle, and can take it from you at anytime that we feel that the vehicle is in jeopardy? he said I signed a paper when I first started my loan, that is on page @ that says that? I asked to be sent a copy of which I signed this, to my email, but have not yet received this? He told me to call another numeri, to ask for a mediation packet. I called that number, which was on the letter I received from the check for {$16.00}, and they said it looks like you have already talked to someone, and they told you that you are not eligible for a mediation packet? Here 's my problem. my car was reposed on XXXX XXXX, a day after XXXX? i never received any paper or notice prior to the reposing? XXXX from the executive office said it was on XX/XX/XXXX, but I specifically remember the day it happened, because the tow guy showed up really late at night, and it was devastating! My lawyer called the next day to resolve this, but got nowhere, so I went without a vehicle until XXXX XXXX, without a vehicle struggling to get to and from work, and take a young daughter to school, and daycare. Upon looking over my payment history that they sent me, I noticed a XXXX premium increase, that I had no knowledge of, nor do I know if that was taken off? Also on XX/XX/XXXX, and XXXX I do not understand what these charges are? they seem fishy? On XX/XX/XXXX i don't understand this certified funds payment I made for {$470.00}? Also, it looks like I was making double payments in several months on XX/XX/XXXX & XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX? I also made a payment on XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX before my bankruptcy was discharged, and still my vehicle was reposed, even through I was making extra payments during my loan when I could, and while i was in bankruptcy?

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, our accounts ( checking and savings ) were frozen due to fraudulent activity. WF said they would be closing the account. XXXX went to the manager of the XXXX branch to see if she could get a check for our funds or part of the funds. He was very helpful and got on the phone to fraud dept and they said they could only do that if both people on the account were present. XXXX and XXXX, who got off early from work and came from XXXX, then met over at the XXXX branch. The manager there was also very helpful and again called the fraud dept and was told they could not help them and transferred to another dept, who did not answer the phones because they had gone home at XXXX. So XXXX and XXXX came back in the next morning, taking time off from work, for the manager to call again. When she finally got hold of someone they said all funds were frozen until XX/XX/XXXX when a check would be cut and the accounts closed. She tried to get even part of our funds for us to live on, but the fraud dept refused. It is now XX/XX/23 and our funds have not been released and no communication has come to us about when we can expect our money.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I received an email from XXXX stating someone had purchased a XXXX XXXX on my account. Hadnt used XXXX in over 10 years. I didnt respond to the number in the email I went on XXXX and looked up how to report fraud on XXXX . I called the number on XXXX and told them about the email and that I hadnt used XXXX in years. He informed me that there were two other charges on my account, one in Texas and one in Ohio.He said I would have to pay the charges and then they would refund my money. He explained the other purchase for the XXXX XXXXXXXX was the most important because it was bought in my name and Im liable for anything that happens with it.He then had me down load an app on my phone called XXXX and that would help him secure my account .After I did that he had me go to my Wells Fargo app and had me add my debit card to PayPal.Then he had me transfer money to my XXXX XXXX account. I tried and the first two times my card was denied but the third time it went through.I still have that {$190.00} in my XXXX account. Then he had me buy two gift cards from XXXX and send them to myself, XXXX canceled the transaction because of fraud .Then he had me XXXX money to XXXX XXXX XXXX and that wouldnt go through so he had me send {$500.00} to XXXX and that went through. I was getting suspicious at this point but I was tired and had missed my medication so I kept going. He kept assuring me that these transactions would all be reversed 10 to 15 minutes after we finished. He had me go back to my Wells Fargo app and activate wire transfers. He had me wire {$3600.00} to XXXX XXXX Ebersole. After this was done he said everything would be back in my account in 10 to 15 minutes. He asked me to keep the app on and he would call back in 15 minutes .I had been on the phone with him for 5 hours.I called my bank as soon as he hung up and they informed me it was a fraud. While I was on the phone with the bank filing a claim I deleted the app. While I was on the phone with the bank I had over 10 missed calls from him on all different numbers. It took an hour and a half to do the claim. She cancelled the XXXX for {$500.00} and said the wire transfer was still pending and it would stay like that for a couple days. She said the claim would take 7 to 10 days. When I got off the phone with her the guy kept calling on different numbers until XXXX.I answered once and he wanted me to put the app back in which I declined. The original number I called was XXXX and the website was taken down 3 days later.I have screenshots of the website and the transactions if needed

Consumer Complaint: CFPB Complaint in Response to WFM Letter dated XX/XX/XXXX This letter is in response to Wells Fargos findings after an alleged investigation of the facts. At the outset, Wells Fargo wrongfully alleges that I was not denied the Investors information. In support of its decision, Wells cites a Denial listing XXXX XXXX as the Investor. The substance of my grievance is the wrongful denial, whether it was by Wells Fargo as the Servicer or XXXX XXXX is immaterial as the denial was without basis. Curiously, Wells Fargo has not provided any of the records on which the wrongful denial was allegedly based income, bank statements, details of the analysis, criteria for approval, etc. Clearly, Wells Fargos alleged reconciliation of its unlawful practices is cosmetic and without substance. In lieu of providing the records on which the modification denial was based as repeatedly requested, Wells Fargo resent the identical letters from its alleged initial review and points to the name of the Investor in support of its decision dated XX/XX/XXXX. As a result of Wells Fargo only stating the Investor denied the modification request, I repeatedly requested the name and contact information of the Investor to directly challenge the denial. Notwithstanding, the name of the Investor does NOT satisfy its obligation to provide documentary proof in support of its denial. Equally untenable is Wells Fargos allegations that it was unable to reach me. I responded to all of its calls and letters. Wells Fargo has failed to mention which documents were not provided. Further, as mentioned in my complaint on or about XX/XX/XXXX, Wells Fargos argument that the denial on or about XX/XX/XXXX was based on the NPV is equally meritless because the NPV valuation took place more than 7 years after multiple wrongful denials beginning in XX/XX/XXXX. Wells Fargo can not hide behind a denial directly related to its 7 years of dilatory actions and wrongful denials.

Consumer Complaint: Wells Fargo refinanced our home after miscommunicating about options related to repayment. They gave us no clear indications about repayment after a brief payment pause period due to health-related issues. During this time, we expressed a desire to pause our payments with Wells Fargo. They obliged and gave verbal advise that we could add these payments at the end of the loan. After the pause, they said that was no longer an option and gave options like refinancing, paying several payments at once or foreclosing the loan. We opted for refinance with little to no information on related fees.
