Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue: Foreclosure
Consumer Complaint: I purchased my primary home in XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX, I was in a pre foreclosure status and asked for assistance with my home payments in XXXX. They said there was nothing they could do, but once I hit a 90 day late more options for help would become available to me. For months I would fill out information to receive a modification and they would not assist. I then had to go to several mediation hearings, and take my income documents, etc. the same information I was mailing in. This went on for about 18 months, stressed and caused mental anguish. My income was high enough for me to go into a repayment plan or modification, but they kept denying all plans. I believe I was affected by miscalculations in their systems. My property was sold at sheriffs sale for XXXX at the end of XXXX. The home was valued at XXXX ( and has recently sold for XXXX ). I have lost a tremendous amount of equity due to the foreclosure. I was initially XXXX payments behind due to illness ; and just need help with a repayment plan. I have tried to contact them to see when and how much I will be awarded, and they last stated my loan can not be located, per my last call on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX XXXX

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Can't close your account
Consumer Complaint: I am trying to close my XXXX 's trust account at Wells Fargo. I have spent over twenty five hours and mutiple appointments trying to complete this process. I have had appointments at Wells Fargo XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I have filled out mutiple forms that were notarized and given excuses and reason why the account could not be closed each time with promises to call me. They never call I always have to go see them in person. This is an insane process to close an account that most Americans would not be able to handle. Wells Fargo is taking advantage of my time and patience to close this account. I see no reason for them not to close this account for the beneficaries of my XXXX XXXX trust except to earn interest of the interest free checking account. Please make them explain how normal Americans would deal with the process I have been put through.

Issue: Managing the loan or lease
Subissue: Problem with the interest rate
Consumer Complaint: I bought a XXXX XXXX XXXX around XX/XX/XXXX from a car dealership and Im pretty sure this is related to the big case against Wells Fargo and their predatory lending case that was written about at the end of XXXX in XXXX in various news articles. They approved me for an auto loan with an APR of 9.84 % over XXXX years with no credit history and with hardly any income at the age of XXXX. Now Im still making my payments on time ( around {$460.00} a month ) and Ive been making more aggressive payments of {$600.00} every XXXX weeks and I asked for a pay off quote and they quoted the same principal amount I see on my statement but that amount includes interest. A sum including interest is not considered the principal sum of a loan. They also only shorten the maturity date of the loan from making early payments and Im still obligated to pay all interest regardless of how early I make my payments. Is it really legal to obligate a borrower to pay interest on a sum of money thats being paid off earlier? I believe this loan was very predatory to begin with from Wells Fargo and I would like to be able to pay off the loan without having to pay their unethically high and yes Im saying it again predatory rate. Thank you for your time and any attention to my comment would be appreciated.

Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue: Trying to communicate with the company to fix an issue while managing or servicing yo
Consumer Complaint: My house has already been XXXX on. This was the issue that many Wellsfargo customers were subjected to. However this week I got a letter from Wellsfargo stating that " During a review of this account, we identified that when the loan as considered for payment assistance options, an error may have occurred. As a result, we are enclosing a check for XXXX We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. '' How do I determine if I should apply for the Wellsfargo XXXX lawsuit? I'm sure that Wellsfargo is not going to freely admit that they cheated me out of my home. But I'm sure that they are not just sending checks out for free. I'm also afraid to cash this check, I'm guessing that by cashing this XXXX I am also somehow releasing Wellsfargo from any wrongdoing. What should I do?

Issue: Identity theft protection or other monitoring services
Subissue: Didn't receive services that were advertised
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a vague letter from Wells Fargo saying that a review of their records indicated that I as enrolled in the Identity Theft Protect -Affinion product from XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX, asking to me call so they could " care for '' any impact caused by the enrollment. I called and the women said, " How may I help you? '' I said, " I don't know. You sent me a letter. '' She THEN revealed that if I was enrolled but did not want the product, they would send me a reimbursement of {$1100.00}. I said to reimbursement me, and she said that I would receive a check in 20 days. 21 days later I had not received a check and called back. I was told it could take 20 to 30 days this time and to call back after 30 days. I called back on XX/XX/XXXX, and was kept on hold for over 20 minutes, switched to another person and cut off. I called back and the new person told me the check had not been sent yet and they were experiencing " delays. '' She could not say why it had not been issued nor when it would be. I was told to call back in 7 days. I called back today, XX/XX/XXXXXXXX and was again told the check had not been processed without explanation of why or when it may be. I was " ESCALATED '' up two times due to being very vocal about my feelings regarding how financial institutions should not be allowed to continue to take advantage of people, rob them and destroy our economy without consequences. White collar crime is crime that hurts innocent hardworking people. When people owe them money they ruin their credit, foreclose on their homes and repossess their items. When they owe THE PEOPLE money, they do everything possible to dodge any responsibility and get away with it. The THIRD employee I was escalated up to told me that I was given incorrect information regarding the time frame. He said that it takes 3-4 weeks up to 45 DAYS to receive payment and that I should receive it any day. I asked him if the check had been cut and put in the mail. He said, " they could not see that information. '' The previous employees seemed to have that information and yet this one did not? XX/XX/XXXX, will be the 45th day. I do not have high hopes that I will be receiving my check from this crooked financial institution and will be calling back on XX/XX/XXXX, so they can continue to play their devious games instead of doing what they were ORDERED IN COURT to do. I told several of the employees I was issuing this complaint and agreeing to have it published on the consumerfince.gov website. I hope others see it and do not let Wells Fargo continue to get away with this crooked behavior.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: Please HELP!!!!! I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding an ongoing issue with my debit card account, more specifically with my bank WELLS FARGO. Approximately two months ago, I reported two transactions ( {$110.00} each ) made with my debit card in XXXX, XXXX as fraudulent, providing all the necessary details and documentation to support my claim. To my dismay, the bank has not recognized these transactions as fraudulent and is still holding me responsible for the unauthorized purchases. This situation is not only distressing but also places me in an unjust position of being accountable for transactions that were clearly made without my authorization. I have diligently followed the bank 's procedures, providing evidence and filing the necessary reports promptly. Despite my efforts, the matter remains unresolved. I kindly request a thorough reexamination of the case and a swift resolution to rectify this issue. I understand the importance of security measures, but as a loyal customer, it is disheartening to face such challenges when reporting fraudulent activities promptly. I believe in the integrity of your institution and trust that you will address this matter with the urgency it deserves. I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and look forward to a prompt resolution.

Issue: Charged fees or interest you didn't expect
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I have contracted a no interest if paid in full loan to pay an XXXX unit from XXXX through Wells Fargo. I have inadvertently missed the paid in full due date by a few weeks and am now being charged XXXX $ Interest for an initial loan of XXXXXXXX XXXX ( contracted XX/XX/XXXX ). When I realized that the interest has been charged ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I called Wells Fargo customer service and offered to payback the loan but the bank did not offer any solution ( there was less than XXXXXXXX XXXX left to pay on the loan at the time of the promotion deadline on XX/XX/XXXX. I would like to complain as it does not make sense that, while I have never missed a payment and with only XXXXXXXX XXXX left on the balance, I now have to pay an additional XXXXXXXX XXXX on that loan. This is abusive. Also, how is it that the payment schedule agreed at the beginning does not allow me to pay in full before the expiration of the promotion period? This seems to be designed to have customers missed the deadline.
