Consumer Complaint: This is an ongoing problem. Transunion continues to avoid the CFPB process and lies in its responses. This is the last time I try this route. if they don't respond on the merits I will start a lawsuit. . Here is the history : I applied for credit with XXXX XXXX XXXX in Wisconsin and was denied because Transunion had a credit freeze on my report. I never placed a freeze on my report. I called Transunion and after a long time on the phone they disconnected me. I went on line to their process for removing a credit freeze and after filling in all the required information it said " unable to verify identity '' and I could not gain access to remove the freeze. I called the phone number listed for website problems and was assigned a user ID XXXX and told to email Transunion with various documents which I did. The first response was they had trouble opening the documents- likely because they were encrypted. The documents were resent in PDF format and there was no response. I asked several times if they were able to open them. After a while I received a Secure Message from Transunion that said I could remove the credit freeze on line. However, the whole point was I could not gain access to do so. Then without a request on my part, Transunion sent a copy of my credit report and it says " Suppressed ''. My father who is an attorney wrote to Transunion 's general counsel and he never responded. I have attached the identification documents Transunion asked for originally as well as a copy of my credit report that shows it as being suppressed. I am still unable to access Transunion online. and it has refused to respond to the substance of three prior CFPB complaints filed on my behalf. Her is Transunion 's latest response- as anyone can see the response has no relationship to my complaint : " After careful review, we have determined the information submitted in the portal included a dispute of information appearing on your credit report. TransUnion has processed your request and forwarded a copy of the Investigation Results through US mail. You should expect to receive those results in approximately 7 business days. We have mailed a copy of your TransUnion credit report to the current address we have on file for you. In response to your request, the following actions were taken on your credit file : You disputed the following accounts and/or public records on your credit file. Below includes the results of that investigation. XXXX XXXX CARD SERVICES-VERIFIED AS REPORTED. '' As my complaint reflects I never asked anything about XXXX card services- and in fact nothing appears on y credit report, a copy of which is attached, as it is suppressed.
