Consumer Complaint: I have an Amazon credit card through Synchrony Credit Card since XXXX and I always check my latest transactions to see if there's any fraud or any issues with my account. I decided to check my statement on the month of XXXX and noticed a " Payment Security '' charge for around ~ {$5.00}. I checked my previous statements and they all have " Payment Security '' ranging from ~ $ 5-~ {$20.00}. I did research about payment security and it's Synchrony Banks way of charging a monthly fee for " debt collection. '' I have been employed for the last XXXX years and never needed debt collection nor did I know about htis. After further review on similar complaints, Synchrony sneaked this into their contract as an opt-out feature and scammed thousands of people. I looked into my statements and Synchrony Credit Card charged me thousands in " Payment Security '' that I will never get back. I contacted Synchrony after hearing this and the representative easily opted me out and gave me a refund of ~ {$47.00} but I demanded a refund for all those months and years they charged me on a service I didn't need or know about. She escalated this information and I received a letter that I will not get refunded for the previous years. Synchrony Credit Card is a scam and I will never do business with them or any businesses that uses their services.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Good morning this bank Synchrony closed my JCPenneys account. I never asked them to close my account. I had faxed them an about accounts that was closed on my credit reports, and I wanted them to remove those accounts from my credit report. One of them was not a JCPenneys account so that one was put in wrong, on my letter and they should have seem that account number was not a jc penny account. Ive been calling the number and they would keep on telling me that they do an investigation. I have sent them copies of my credit report so they can see that that account number thats on my letter for JCPenney is not their account today I called and the supervisor says they dont see none of my papers that Ive been faxing to XXXX. If they didnt get my papers, they have removed the QVC which you see on my letter off my credit report and they removed the XXXX XXXX my credit report, but instead of removing JCPenneys off my credit report, they closed my account and all I want is my account reinstated because I never told them to close my account. I told them that on my credit report those accounts was closed which you will see because Im sending a copy of the letter that I sent them also, I have sent them credit reports so they can see that that account number was not a JCPenneys account, thanks PS never close my JCPenneys account. Only thing I said is removed from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: Chain of events : - I made a purchase with a merchant, Value City XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX of {$2300.00}. It states on my receipt that I have a 12 month no interest plan. - On XX/XX/XXXX, there was a fraudulent charge on my account around XXXX of XXXX of {$2400.00}. - On XX/XX/XXXX, I disputed the fraudulent charge and Synchrony bank created a new account for me and closed the original account, and the fraudulent charge was removed. - While still making the minimum monthly payments, I was charged interest on XX/XX/XXXX ( {$26.00} ) and XX/XX/XXXX ( {$25.00} ). I noticed this on XX/XX/XXXX and contacted Synchrony bank that day to have those charges removed and request that the promotion that I was supposed to have get re-added, since somehow it went missing during the account transfer. I was told they'd create an incident and should have been resolved in few business days. - On XX/XX/XXXX, I call Synchrony again as I did not get a resolution, and was told it'd be escalated within XXXX business days. - On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an e-letter stating that they can not fix the promotion because it's been over 6 months since the date of the transaction, and that I am held responsible for the interest that has been charged on my account. On an additional note, I did not use my credit card even once yet somehow someone was able to use my credit card and make a fraudulent charge should be 100 % investigated, because something doesn't seem right about this. My credit card account was opened on the date of transaction and was shipped to my address, and it sat on my desk and never was touched after. I never made a physical nor virtual transaction with the card since I opened the account. The only thing I have done was setup my profile with Synchrony and make payments. I'm being told they can't do anything after 6 months of purchase and yet the first interest charge was 6 months after the purchase, which seems like more than a coincidence since the only people who had access to my information were the ones who created the account.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a CD in Synchrony Bank on XX/XX/XXXX. I am notified on XX/XX/XXXX, that my account is opened without any paperwork. I did not sign any bank agreement or terms and conditions while opening my CD. I called Synchrony on XX/XX/XXXX, to close my CD. They said I would be liable for 180 days of full interest after 6 days of opening the CD. XX/XX/XXXX is 6 days after XX/XX/XXXX but they argued that the date the account is funded is XX/XX/XXXX which I am not aware of as I did not receive any paperwork or electronic email stating the same. I was on the call with Synchrony for about an hour discussing the resolution. I requested to refund my money with 7 day simple interest penalty but they said they would charge 180 days interest as a penalty. Synchrony Bank did not inform me about its terms and conditions either electronically or by email and I did not sign any terms and conditions while opening the CD.
