Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/23 I paid off my account statement to the card at once ( approximately {$590.00} on a {$600.00} limit ) ; I am using the card to build credit so trying to use it and pay off the balance each month. The card showed that the statement was paid off. The terms of service do not authorize the lender to arbitrarily freeze the card based on paying off " large '' amounts. I received no notification of why the account balance was being held post-payment. XX/XX/23 I confirmed over the phone that I made the payment. I asked them to point out where in the agreement it said they were authorized to hold the account ; they refused to answer and said they weren't allowed to tell me why other than that I had made a " large '' payment. They told me it wouldn't be unfrozen ( arbitrarily ) until XX/XX/XXXX at the earliest and could not confirm that this would not happen in the future.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX - XXXX XXXX account/credit card through Synchrony Financial ( a second credit card with Synchrony Financial XXXX the first one obtained in XXXX XXXX ) XXXX - XXXX XXXXXXXX charge of {$3000.00} Made monthly payments by bank draft on XXXX ( list below ) but payment on XX/XX/XXXX for {$2300.00} ( listed on my account as " posted '' ) was placed on a 10-day hold by Synchrony with no notice to me. All prior payments on both Synchrony cards have always been posted same-day. XX/XX/XXXX - {$100.00} XX/XX/XXXX - {$100.00} XX/XX/XXXX - {$100.00} XX/XX/XXXX - {$2300.00} XX/XX/XXXX - A payment transaction by surgeon for my XX/XX/XXXX XXXX was declined due to {$12000.00} not being available - only {$9000.00} was available due to the unapplied {$2300.00} payment that I was told would be released from hold on XX/XX/XXXX. My XXXX date was due to be cancelled if payment was not made by XX/XX/XXXX. To avoid this, I requested a credit limit increase of an additional {$3000.00} that was approved but the Chat Rep mistakenly entered {$300.00} as the amount of the increase and quickly terminated the chat! I had to start a new Chat thread to have a second Rep correct the error. The only way to work to resolve this was through the Synchrony website 's Chat Bot. After requesting a " live Rep '' with the Bot, the Chat Rep stated the reason for the hold was due to the [ high ] payment amount. I advised that the payment was from cash/ACH from my bank account that was done on XX/XX/XXXX, and there is no reason to hold a cash payment, let alone for a two-week period, and without any notice to me.

Consumer Complaint: I have three store credit cards ( XXXX XXXX Musician 's Friend, and Ashley Furniture Home Store ) that are handled through Synchrony Bank. On XX/XX/XXXX, I logged into the mysychrony online portal to make a payment on all three accounts. Ashley Furniture was due on XX/XX/XXXX and the other two were due on XX/XX/XXXX. There are only two checking accounts associated with the portal ( my XXXX and my husband 's account ). On XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX I received an email that there was an issue with the banking information I provided. The information for my XXXX XXXX XXXX was incorrect and the payments would be cancelled. I logged into the portal, but it showed the payments processing and again only showed the two checking accounts. On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX I received an email that the payments had been cancelled. All three accounts had a late fee charged. I spent over an hour trying to get this resolved, I did get the late fee waved, but no one knows what the issue is. I have never had XXXX XXXX XXXX and neither has my husband. XXXX XXXX Bank is located in my hometown, XXXX hours away, and my parents have an account there. I have never had an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX. Furthermore, my parents do not have access to mysychrony and do not even know I have those XXXX store credit cards. I have no idea how Synchrony Bank got access to XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I opened an account w/SynchronyXXXX XXXX on or around XX/XX/XXXX. I received a notice from Synchrony that my XXXX XXXX account was being transferred to XXXX as of XX/XX/XXXX. But on XX/XX/XXXX I called Synchrony XXXX # as I usually do to make pymts and was advised that they no longer had this account and that I would need to call XXXX ( XXXX ) to make any and all future pymts. I called that number provided and was told by XXXX XXXX customer service member that they did not have any records of my account. Which lead me to call Synchrony once again. This went back and forth with no resolution. At the time I only owed SynchronyXXXX XXXX account {$1100.00}. However, when I checked my credit report, it read I owed {$2300.00} which they now had charged off as of XX/XX/XXXX. I was never notified that this account was charged off prior to me receiving the notice of change in ownership to XXXX. Sychrony bank charged off the account yet are still reporting each month to all 3 credit bureaus that I am late every month paying on this account. An account mind you that they no longer have. How can a company report that a consumer is late if they do not have the account, it is transferred or sold, and/or the consumer is unable to make payments to that company? Because these creditors pay these credit bureaus, we consumers are at a real disadvantage, and it is making it almost totally impossible for any consumer to have fighting chance to correct any discrepancies. These inaccuracies are causing major adverse effect on my credit report and score, and I have been denied credit due to these inaccuracies. I have tried to contact Synchrony Bank directly however, as I mentioned before, I am being told that they no longer have this account and can not assist me in this matter. Therefore, I am writing you in hopes of a resolution.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX I bought a refrigerator from Lowes using my Lowes C/C. The item was delivered about a week later with doors that were misaligned and 5 huge dents. The delivery folks took pictures and then refuse to take the damage refrigerator back. With in a hour I drove to the Lowes store in XXXX NC and spoke with the appliance manager. He told me since it was ordered on line that there was nothing that he could do and gave me a sticker with their distribution center. After 3 calls I finally was able to get a date to pick up the damaged refrigerator. when the folks came to pick up the unit I asked for paperwork to confirm that they have indeed taken the item. Synchrony Bank investigated it for some 60 days and said since I have the item I must pay for it. In XXXX I refiled my claim and again waited 60 days with no contact, no resolve and I am being charged interest and monthly for an item that was returned 5 months ago.

Consumer Complaint: I have called synchrony bank to dispute this matter. Someone fictitiously opened this account in my old married name which I haven't gone by in over 5 years. This account was opened in XXXX of XXXX when i was already married and had a different name. Who ever opened this account also used a address that does not exist. The building has been tourn down for years. I filed a police report on the matter which is attached. This has put a negative marker on my credit and has damaged my credit score tremendously. I have worked hard over the years to get to where I am, and someone is ruining it.
