Consumer Complaint: I made a purchase of a mattress ( ~ {$3000.00} ) XX/XX/2022 from Mattress Firm and opened a Synchrony bank to financing the balance. I was misled by the salesman that i can pay off in three years and but this XXXX, they charged me a huge amount of interest ( ~ {$1000.00} ). I receive no notification or phone call before they made the interest charge. I called Synchrony bank several times but they said that they can do nothing to do. it seems that all they want is the interest, and once charged, they will return it in no ways.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased a product originally advertised by PayPal credit, I ordered the product from a company called XXXX https : XXXX When I received the product I realized they sent me an XXXX version of the product and was not functional for my American home, it was an expression machine with an XXXX type of electric plug. I quickly informed XXXX about the issue and they sent me a return label. I sent the product back, they acknowledged the return but I never got a refund. I contacted both XXXX and PayPal credit several times explaining myself about the situation. XXXX say they accepted my return but PayPal credit hasnt cleared the charge from my account, this was almost a year ago and they keep calling me and have now billed me multiple times and have caused me to incur interests that have hurt my credit. I keep telling them I returned the product but they dont accept it. Anything I can do?

Consumer Complaint: I have a Synchrony Bank XXXX XXXX ( account # ending XXXX ). On XX/XX/2023, I went through my card statement and discovered a fraudulent transaction : a merchant that I had previously purchased from but subsequently cancelled charged my card again on XX/XX/2023. The merchant is XXXX. The charge is for {$39.00}. When I try to log in to XXXX, it tells me that my account no longer exists ( see Exhibits 1 and 2 ), confirming that the charge was unauthorized. I immediately attempted to contact Synchrony Bank via phone- which was extremely difficult in the first place - the phone number is not readily accessible. I had to listen to several minutes of automated information about my account, which I had not asked for. Finally, when I was connected to a human, representative took down my details, then told me I would have to be transferred to another department. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes, I was hung up on. Evidently, this is Synchrony 's way of deliberately preventing reports of fraud on the account.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: First let me state that I my information has been compromised by XXXX Data Breach as well as XXXX Data Breach. I noticed a recent charge on my credit report initially from XXXX, dba XXXX. Per CFPB Validation Notice Letter, a precise request, following CFPB guidelines, on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX. Per CFBP Debt collection rules and Debt collection rights ; XXXX failed to follow CFPB guidelines and comply with FCRA and FDCPA " VALIDATION '' per the letters request, within the 30-day guideline ( XXXX ). The company, XXXX sent a noncompliant response, dated XXXX XX/XX/XXXX providing an " enclosed account summary which provides " verification of debt, '' NOT VALIDATION ( see attached ), not in compliance with FCRA nor FDCPA. XXXX failed to VALIDATE within the 30-day deadline. In addition to violating FCRA and FDCPA, XXXX requested " contact one of their Customer Service Representative . '' A debt Validation Notice was sent via certified mail to XXXX On XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, which XXXX acknowledged receiving ( see attachment ) a copy of the letter on XXXX XX/XX/XXXX ; per certified documentation. However, XXXX in their written communication responded as XXXX XXXX XXXX & but are reporting to credit bureau as XXXX. It appears that this company is practicing unscrupulous monopolizing practices and is unable to decide if they are XXXX or XXXX XXXX XXXX ; either way, it is illegal to report the same debt ( double dip ) as two separate companies. It's called " monopolization '' and under FTC regulations, it is violating 9-28.000 it's illegal. As such, I've also filed a complaint with DOJ with their documentation as well regarding debt reporting as two separate companies ; i.e. sending correspondences as XXXX and reporting to credit bureau as XXXX on my credit report. Again, XXXX XXXX failed to comply with CFPB guidelines, FCRA nor FDCPA, Validation Notice Letter as set forth by US Congress . Either way, XXXX failed to comply with the 30-day regulation by failing to validate the debt ( see attached Validation Notice Letter sent ) ; as such, failure to comply requires that XXXX must immediately remove/stop negatively reporting to all 3 credit bureaus. Additionally, I had accounts with Synchrony Bank ( Care Credit ) & paid my debt. I also called PayPal and spoke with a representative that stated I 'did not have an account that I owed at PayPal . ' When I asked if she could send me an email confirming it ; she stated I 'did n't need one b/c I didn't owe anything. ' I know the company records their messages and can listen to the message.

Consumer Complaint: A Synchrony Lowe 's account was opened in my name to make purchases over {$8000.00} dollars. I called Synchrony XX/XX/XXXX to report the fraud. They gave no follow-up but instead sent me the credit card in XX/XX/XXXX. I responded and disputed the card and charges. I asked them to tell me who has been using the card and review video of who made purchases. They stayed they would perform an investigation and let me know in writing the outcome. Today XXXX I received a letter from Synchrony stating the account is past due as of XX/XX/XXXX. They have made zero attempt to contact me or follow-up with any investigation they may have completed. I have not made a single purchase with this card, they are not making any effort here to correct this.

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: I previously contacted synchrony bank CareCredit in response to noticing a charge that was not authorized by myself XX/XX/XXXX. I gave them all of the information regarding my personal information and everything that they asked me for in terms of helping them to do a thorough investigation. The charge was initially taken off of my card and then it was reversed in XX/XX/XXXX. I am now having the same exact issue on XX/XX/XXXX. There was a charge made on my card that has no merchant name it just has a city and state of XXXX Ohio. This is not a charge that I am aware of it is fraud. I have made no purchase in this amount of {$2300.00}. What also concerns me is that someone is able to fraudulently obtain my information and make these charges to my card I have expressed my concerns with CareCredit, Synchrony, Bank and I am not getting the support. I feel that I need to ensure that my information is being protected, I have had a fraud alert, put on my my credit report because I have been a victim of identity fraud in the past. However, it is very concerning to me as a consumer that I keep getting my information compromised, and these fraudulent charges are being made. I originally initiated a claim with the ftc.gov which brought me to the CFPB. I also am in the process of going to the authorities to file a police report because I am now becoming a victim of identity, fraud, and Internet crimes more often I am comfortable with something have to be done about this as a consumer we do not deserve to have our information stolen and charges made and then we are responsible for this. I also hold the company is responsible for making sure that we are not liable for any charges that were not authorized by us.
