Consumer Complaint: On Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX Paypal tried to deduct {$250.00} from my debit card stating I signed up for auto add money feature which I never did. My bank denied the transaction. I called Paypal and they told me it was a glitch and no money was attempted to be withdrawn and it wouldn't happen again. Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX, and today the XXXX they tried to take it but this time from my bank account. My bank denied it all three more times. I reached out today where the service rep was rude and wouldn't give me any answers other than " we'll contact you after we investigate and close your account ''. So my account is being closed for asking why they are trying to take {$1000.00} from my account monthly? And I'm not sure but possible illegaly I never authorized any money to come out of my account.

Consumer Complaint: Venmo froze my account on XX/XX/XXXX which currently holds {$1000.00}. Venmo told me that I have XXXX accounts opened which violates their terms. I did not knowingly open XXXX accounts, I have XXXX phone numbers ( work and personal ) and in the past people have sent me money to both phone numbers. Venmo automatically opens an account with a phone number when money is sent. That is how and why I had XXXX accounts open. I did not knowingly violating any terms. Venmo has only told me my account is frozen and I have violated the terms. I've asked 3 times how will I get my money back, and Venmo has not responded to this question. {$1000.00} is alot of money to my family and I really need to get my money back from Venmo.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I received a Venmo text alert at XXXX XXXX notifying me of a Venmo request amount of {$2700.00} from an unknown user " XXXX XXXX XXXX with the caption " Mystery but it's real. '' I then received another request amount of {$1800.00} at XXXX XXXX from the same unknown user with the caption " Privilege to encounter you. '' Confused, i attempted to open the Venmo app but discovered i had been logged out. I contacted friends of mine to see if they could locate my account, but they could not, suggesting my account had been deleted immediately following these inbound requests. I called Venmo support who was able to verify my identity, restore my account, freeze my account, and identify that the {$2700.00} transaction had been sent to the unknown user ( but the {$1800.00} had not ). The payment was funded from my linked XXXX XXXX account. I then submitted a dispute for the {$2700.00} transaction to Venmo, which is currently ongoing and could take up to 10 business days. I then logged into my XXXX XXXX account and the transaction was in " pending '' status for the same {$2700.00} amount, debited from my checking account. I have submitted a claim to XXXX as well regarding this unauthorized transaction and await results. However, the amount has already been removed from my bank account. I am submitting this report here to have a written record of what occurred.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX someone hacked my XXXX account and used my stored PayPal information to make XXXX purchases, XXXX for {$56.00} and XXXX for {$370.00}. I received email notifications from PayPal regarding these payments and immediately called them to notify them they were fraudulent. The first customer service agent I spoke to on XX/XX/XXXX assured me they were not valid transactions and I would not be charged. On XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed the {$56.00} charge was listed on my account as completed, so I filed an online dispute. Later in the day, I was notified that my dispute was denied. I called PayPal customer service again. The representative I spoke to that day also confirmed that the transaction was not valid and I would not be charged. The charge for {$370.00} was cancelled and no longer appears on my PayPal account. The charge for {$56.00} however, was processed and has since been billed to my XXXX savings account. These fraudulent transactions were made from the same IP address and the same shipping address was entered for both- so it is absurd that XXXX was deemed to have been fraudulent and invalid while the other is being treated as a valid transaction. There is no way of contacting XXXX to request a refund or cancellation. If someone hacked the XXXX account, they should not have been able to make a purchase using my PayPal without entering a password.
