Consumer Complaint: Paypal sent me an email stating someone charged XXXX on my account and to call to get help. He wanted to refund my money and the next thing that happened was instead of putting XXXX back, he put XXXX and he said I could not transfer the money back and that I had to buy gift cards to make up the XXXX. I went to XXXX and got XXXX XXXX gift cards with my bank card and XXXX XXXX XXXX gift cards, XXXX. Then went to XXXX and bought XXXX XXXX gift cards and paid cash for them. Before I realized what was happening, I scratched off the # on back of the cards, took a picture of the cards and emailed them to him. After I realized what was happening, he got the XXXX XXXX cards and XXXX in XXXX XXXX cards. I called my credit union and asked them to freeze my accounts.

Consumer Complaint: I create grow videos on XXXX. My main sponsors are light companies, they send me money through PayPal to purchase the equipment on XXXX. After receiving money this morning for a new piece of equipment that I was going to order, I got a notification that my PayPal has been permanently limited and I wasnt allowed access to my money or able to transfer it. They claim that I did something wrong but I have done nothing illegal or against the terms of service. How is this legal for them to hold money for no apparent reason. They claimed they reviewed it, but it happened immediately after accepting the funds so its obviously automated and not reviewed by anyone. Please help my account is not unusable and they wont give me a reason why.

Consumer Complaint: As of XX/XX/2021, PayPal has limited my account for no specific reason. I have tried to get my account back but PayPal is unwilling to cooperate. I am assuming the limitation is a mistake as my PayPal account has no unusual transactions or history. In fact, I only have two transactions on this new PayPal account so I am honestly astonished that PayPal believes that I am " in violation of PayPal 's Acceptable Use Policy ''. I have not been able to get help from them so far so I have decided to file a report on here as I feel they are not doing their job properly and it is affecting me a great deal. I am willing to cooperate with CFPB and PayPal, and will provide anything that is required to get the account back. My email linked to my PayPal is XXXX. In order to ease the process for both parties, I have included screenshots of the two transactions that I have done ( both dealing with 100 % authentic used sneakers sold on Grailed, a selling platform similar to eBay ), the exact message that PayPal has put on my account, and a picture of my ID to confirm that I am the sole owner of this PayPal account.

Consumer Complaint: I have had a Paypak account for several years. In XXXX I changed the phone number of the account. They would not. update the log in phone number after several written and verbal requests. In mid XXXX my phone was stolen, so I purchased a new phone and used a new number. When I attempted to contact Paypal is would not let me log in as I did not have access to the old phone, which is where the verification code was being sent. I contacted Paypal via phone. At first I was told there was nothing that could be done as his department did not have authorization to change phone numbers in the system. I contacted a second time and the man was able to update my phone number, but I still could not access my account of the monies in it. He told me to add a new account. After adding the new account I called customer service again to request the funds be transferred from the old account to the new one. I was informed that was not allowed in their system. I tried calling 2 more times with the same response. I recalled the department manager and was told they did not have access or authorization or access to transfer funds. When I asked how I could access my funds, the response was you can't. I asked if there was someone else I could speak with and was told he had no one to transfer me to that would be able to help. To date I do not have access to my old account and the money that has been paid into it is still unavailable. in is still unavailable.
