Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX PayPal permanently limited my account with them, and froze my remaining balance. The account held {$2000.00} in revenue for selling goods. All of my sales were legal and in good standing. I contacted PayPal on XX/XX/XXXX via telephone, and I was told that my account was permanently banned, and they did not state the reason. I asked about my money still in the account, and the representative told my the money would be held for 180 days, after which I would receive an email on how to claim. On XX/XX/XXXX, PayPal debited my account the entire {$2000.00}, stating it was to pay for damages to the company. I reached out to the XXXX to complain, and today XX/XX/XXXX I received a response stating they banned my account for possible ammunition sales. They still refuse to refund the money. I understand they can ban my account, but I do not understand how they can lie, string someone along for 6 months, then steal the money that is left in the account for damages. A quick XXXX search regarding this issue will reveal this is not an isolated case. PayPal is continuing to perform fraud and theft in regards to their vague acceptable use policy for which anyone can violate for a multitude of reasons. PayPal should do the right thing and refund not just my money, but the hundreds and probably thousands of others this has been done to.

Consumer Complaint: PAYPAL banned me from using their services and hold my money I earned through online services from XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2021. The Paypal blocked me for the reason of violation in their user agreement and acceptable use policy. Upon re-reading the policies I am confident that I did not violate any of the rules. I am relatively new to Paypal and they must have been confused with my activities in to dealing with restricted activities.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, PayPal closed my account as part of Reference ID : XXXX for what they determine to be a violation of their user agreement. At this time, I was informed that they would be holding the {$20000.00} currently in my account for up to 180 days. At this time I filed a CFPB complaint, which PayPal responded to and said their decision was final and that my money would be released on XX/XX/2021. Since this time, PayPal has, unprompted by me, reviewed the account again, and has issued me a second shutdown notice, Reference ID : XXXX, and told me that my money would be held for 180 days ( presumably from this new date ). They have now reset the clock on the hold, and can presumably do this indefinitely with no recourse on my end. This amounts to theft. The money in my account is there as a result of a refund that arrived the day before I was shut down, and is not even related to the reason they have stated for closing my account.
