Consumer Complaint: I've had a paypal account for almost a year now. I've given them my social, my Florida drivers license, and paid many bills and fed my family pay paying through paypals credit card they gave me through XXXX XXXX. I cashed out my rewards points to my paypal account from XXXX XXXX after using {$990.00} through paypal 's system with this issued paypal credit card from XXXX XXXX. As soon as I cashed out my {$11.00} to my prepaid debit card I INSTANTLY was permanently limited ( also known as banned forever ) from paypal. The customer care rep was rude, angry, insulted my good name and reputation, and refused to give me any reason why this happened and said that I am no longer wanted to do business with from paypal. They took my identity, they scammed me into using their credit card, had me rack up debt to almost {$1000.00} dollars, and as soon as I collected a benet for using my card they banned my account! I will not take this type of abuse tech companies seem to use with no accountability!

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir or Ms. : This comsumer complaint is being sent to your office after Venmo 's unlawfully freezing my Venmo card account for nearly 3 months without any authority and consent, In XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXXVENMO HAS STILL CORRUPTLY HELD MY {$11000.00} deposit was made from my fiancee ' XXXX XXXX 's late father 's sale of his property into my Venmo account. The deposit was to repay me {$10000.00} she got from me, and her repaying me back from her sold real estate her attorney sold in her inheritance. Similarly, nearly {$25000.00} was illegally transferred from my XXXX XXXX bank acct. and {$3500.00} was unlawfully removed from my Venmo card acct., with -out my consent, authorization, or any legal In and after XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX and Venmo froze my accounts containing about {$23000.00}, total. Venmo never told me, replied to my many attempts to learn why it was frozen, what caused the freezing, and what I can do to unfreeze my funds. That unlawful silence went on for more than 10months to this date, XX/XX/XXXX, 18 months later, VENMO REFUSES TO TRANSFER MY {$9000.00} BALANCE to my XXXX AND CHASE accounts by wire transfers. After nearly 14 emails Venmo has not my reply texts demanding {$11000.00} be returned, Venmo C/S and executives never replied. Alternatively, C/S wrote it will get back to me in 8-14 calendar days. After 19 MONTHS, Venmo still did not ever answer specifically WHY IT HAD FRAUDULENTLY WITHHELD my money. My monthly bills came due ; Venmo still refused after 10-months to return, my {$3500.00} it allowed to be stolen and my current {$8700.00} in my VENMO CARD ACCT.. then never refunded it even after I filed Whereas, VENMO sent me a letter, ( copy attached ) that it is holding my funds {$11000.00} for 10 months XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. However, VENMO IS STILL earning interest on MY FUNDS, but not paying me {$300.00} of dollars it earned in interest on my {$11000.00} money. Therefore, I am seeking to file a classaction suit for various legal crimes and consumer fraud, or consumer violations as this Court determines from our classaction complaint and attached documents, ( exhibits ), supporting consumers claims against Venmo bank card. Respectfully yours, XXXX `` XXXX '' XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, VA XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/21, I transferred {$120.00} from a Venmo payment from a friend via bank transfer. I submitted the incorrect routing number for the bank and tried to cancel or retrieve the transfer within 10 minutes. I couldnt do that on my own so I started a chat with Venmo customer support. The Venmo representative told me to contact my bank and wait 3 days, even after I told them the routing number was for a bank that was not mine ( multiple times ) and I would NOT see the money applied to my account, a loan, or a mortgage as a line of credit as they told me to expect. They told me there is nothing they can do aside for tell me to contact my bank ( even though the routing number is for a bank that is NOT mine ), wait, and contact them after 3 days if things are not sorted. The disappointing part is that a company specializing in money transfers does not have the ability to cancel or retrieve a bank transfer until after 3 days.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I created a Venmo business profile, after Venmo advertised that I could sign up for a business profile and make and send business payment for 30 days with " zero fees ''. I am a California-licensed certified public accountant ( CPA ), and my business is bookkeeping and preparing tax returns. On XX/XX/2021, a business client ( also based in California ) sent a payment of {$1200.00} USD to my Venmo business profile for bookkeeping services. I have not performed any other activity on my Venmo account. On XX/XX/2021 I received an email from Venmo stating : " Your Venmo account has been frozen due to recent activity that triggered some security alerts. Please contact us by replying to this email if you have any questions or want to reactivate your account. '' The money my client paid me is trapped in limbo. I can not transfer it to my bank account and I can not return the money to the client. I also can not perform any other activity. As instructed in the email, I replied to contact Venmo. However the only response from Venmo was an automated email with links to forums that was of no help. I then resorted to the app and found an option to chat with support. After getting the run-around from chat bots for 20 minutes, I was able to connect to a, supposedly, real person, who promptly stated they could not assist and transferred my chat. 10-20 minutes later, I was connected to another supposed human, who also stated that they could not help me or provide any additional information. They informed me that the team that can help will contact me via email within 48 hours. There is no phone number or email address to contact this " team '' - I have to wait and watch for them to initiate contact. Today is XX/XX/2021. After 3 weeks, my money is still trapped in limbo. I can not return the money, I can not use the money, and I can not get a straight answer. I would warn anyone to avoid using Venmo because they can, for opaque reasons, cut you off and do real harm to a business that relies on them for their livelihood. Additionally, the advertisement for zero fees is practically a false advertising scam, because the first time I tried to transact my legitimate business with them, it locked my account and by the time it ( hopefully ever ) gets resolved, the 30nday XXXX fees window will be long gone.

Consumer Complaint: I was the victim of a scam/fraud by user XXXX XXXX on Venmo which is owned by PayPal. I realized this was a fraudulent transaction within approximately 10 minutes, contacted Venmo, and contacted my bank, XXXX XXXX in an attempt to cancel the transaction and my debit card. XXXX XXXX canceled my debit card, while Venmo did not cancel the transaction. The scammer fraudulently copied a known contact 's profile, photo, and username ( with a slight modification ) and requested money from me. This appears to me to be a failure on the part of Venmo/PayPal to comply with " Know Your Customer '' laws and also to prevent fraud on their platform. Venmo refuses to help on this matter thus I am filing a complaint against them.

Consumer Complaint: Paypal should be investigated due to their flawed scoring system that rate customers and give false information yet Paypal refused to look into it. I've included a picture. Paypal is giving false information to the Credit Bureaus that i have too many unsuccessful payments. Everything underlined in photo # 1 is a BIG LIE. I've only had 2 Pay In 4 orders with Paypal which would be 4 payments on each order and i've NEVER ordered anything using Paypal other than until i used their Pay In 4. How could i have unsucessful payments when i've NEVER missed a Paypal Pay In 4 payment. Otherwise i wouldn't have excellent credit with XXXX, XXXX, XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX which are all Pay In 4 and Paypal is copying them with the Pay In 4. I've NEVER missed a Paypal Pay In 4 payment and the only problem there ever was is when my credit card on file had expired and i wasn't aware but as soon as i found out i immediately fixed the issue and paid with another card yet that was in 2020 and Paypal have continued for nearly a year to deny me Pay In 4 due to their flawed scoring system. I've contacted Paypal thru XXXX XXXX several times and was given the run around and sent automatic messages. Paypal have no phone numbers or any kind of way for customers to contact them.

Consumer Complaint: I was just sending money to a friend of mine from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX of 2021. I sent my friend XXXX XXXX, then suddenly, XXXX says that I used their service in a questionable manner even though it is not. I gave them the information they needed to verify that I made the transactions. They asked for my current and bank statement address and told me to state what I did with their service. After few days, they said that they will permanently limit my account as they found potential risks on it even though there are none. Also saying that my money within the app will be able for withdraw after 180 days, which is not acceptable because I did not anything wrong.
