I called to resolve this and they refuse to cancel my account without me sending a picture of my photo ID. As my identity has already been compromised by this company and my social security number has already been used in the credit card application I will not send this photo and risk further damage to my identity. Consumer Complaint: I've tried opening a case using another email address that I've opened an account with. I received a response that PayPal would not reinstate my account because I have another closed account where I went against terms of service and engaged in risky behaviors. This complaint is regarding my original PayPal account, XXXX. Like I said earlier, I only buy and sell sports cards on this account and do not engage in any risky behavior. I would appreciate if PayPal was clearer about what risky behavior I engage in, as I have only legal transactions where goods or services were being transacted. Furthermore, when on call with a PayPal employee, I was accused in engaging in activity such as selling drugs, alcohol, illegal paraphernalia. This is defamation, and I can not believe that PayPal would allow their employees to accuse clients of this without any basis whatsoever.

Consumer Complaint: Per Venmo online FAQs, to close an account, you access your account go to settings then choose a link that says " Close my Venmo Account. '' I have tried this numerous times over the past month from various devices connected to high speed internet. All that happens is a " loading screen '' pops up. It never actually loads, so I can't actually close my account and have my banking information removed from this service. I have no outstanding transactions and I no longer wish for my information to be on the internet. I used the Venmo " Contact Us '' page to email a description of my problem. I got response from ( presumably ) a robot telling me how to delete the app and reinstall it, which is useless, as per Venmo FAQs, one can not delete an account from the app, only from the desktop browser. I replied to that response, clarifying that I had followed the Venmo instructions regarding how to close an account but have been unable to close my account. I clarified that information about the app is not helpful and the real problem is the broken link on the website. The Venmo rponse to my reply was to again send me instructions to go to my account, settings and choose the link the close my account. There seems to be a willful failure to address the issue, which still exists because I can not close my account. This also does not seem to be something that would be broken only for me. It seems they have disabled the ability to close an Venmo account, in violation of their own terms of service, and surely some law as well. I just want to close my account and scrub my banking information from their servers.
