Consumer Complaint: I w as forced to work with Navient because apparently I had defaulted and needed to " rehab '' my loan prior to consolidating. My loan was assumed by Navient in XX/XX/XXXX - the following two years I sent navient payments but never saw any payments toward my principal. I fought with them ALOT while they serviced my loans, but nobody was willing to help me. The basic attitude was I couldn't do anything to get this consolidated unless I just kept paying them, so I did. In XX/XX/XXXX I was FINALLY able to get the loan consolidated. At the time that I was able to consolidate, I had paid around {$980.00} to navient over a period of approximately two years. In that time, my balance INCREASED {$490.00}. In summation, I somehow came out of the " rehabilitation '' period at a {$1400.00} DEFICIT. I have since managed to get out from under Navient 's thumb, however, I believe that I am entitled to at least the {$980.00} in payments that I made. At no point was Navient cooperative in my eyes. And I believe their tactics were threatening and predatory.

Consumer Complaint: Good afternoon, I am not sure where to begin or how to handle this. I got a student loan XX/XX/XXXX, was making payments had some money issues and was in forbearance and continued with payments after the forbearance cycle. XX/XX/XXXX My husband and I filed Chapter XXXX Bankruptcy and in this bankruptcy was my student loan with XXXX XXXX XXXX/XXXX for the remainder of my loan {$1400.00}. Per the paperwork from my attorney the student loan was included. Our bankruptcy has been discharged as of XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Navient that my student loan was now being serviced by Navient. I contacted them via telephone, XX/XX/XXXX, spoke with a XXXX and she informed me that my loan was my responsibility. I asked how that could be when my student loan was included and paid through my bankruptcy. I asked her to investigate this a little more for me as she could not answer my questions. My first payment was due XX/XX/XXXX, total unpaid balance was {$1800.00}. I made 2 months of payments XXXX and XXXX, I did not not want them to reflect negative on my credit report. Still waiting for a response to my questions from my phone call to Navient. I have now received a letter from Navient XX/XX/XXXX, that my student loan was paid in full, the very next day I received a refund check of the payments I had made in XXXX and XXXX. I was thankful for this after speaking with XXXX I thought they had rectified this account with the bankruptcy courts and the fact that I am trying to get us on good credit standing since finishing bankruptcy. Now as of last week I received another Statement from Navient dated XX/XX/XXXX stating my loan amount is {$1800.00} and payments are due starting in XXXX. I called Navient XX/XX/XXXX spoke with XXXX, after he reviewed my account he informed me the letter stating i was paid in full was sent to me in error?? why and how was not explained, I stated this was paid through bankruptcy and he stated it was my responsibility and they could not help me with anything even though the letter was sent in error they were not willing to work with me. I don't believe I owe this balance and do not know where to begin to fight this. I am hoping you can help me with some advice. Please and Thank you XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, Mi XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have submitted several disputes through all 3 credit bureaus-XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. Navient is reporting my student loans ( 8 in total ) as 90 days past due for the XX/XX/2016 payment, but the XX/XX/2016 and XX/XX/2016 payments are both showing current or paid as agreed. The response from the investigation is verified. It is impossible to be current in one month and the next month be 90 days past due and Navient refuses to make the correction. This is impacting a total of 8 loans and has had a negative impact on my credit score.

Consumer Complaint: I filed Chapter XXXX in XXXX ; Navient was listed on here and was supposed to stop contacting me while I was in repayment. They kept at me and in XXXX told me I had to consolidate my loans or they would go into default. I didn't know what to do so I did what they said not knowing any different. I found out in XXXX that this was a lie and that because I did the consolidation I was not protected from them any more. In XXXX I contacted Navient several times to get income based loan repayments set up. They refused to help me and said that because I had no income so they told me they couldn't set up any plan because I didn't have pay stubs so they put me in forbearance. Later that year the welfare office helped me find the paperwork to complete for income based repayments. I completed the paperwork and set it to them. I did not hear back from them for months. Finally I got a letter from them telling my I was missing documentation of insurance and they could not process it. I got the documentation again from the department of welfare and sent it to them. I didn't hear back from them and I called many times. Every time I called I was pushed around to other people and hung up on. I had no idea what to do. Then in XXXX I get a letter that the Department of Education has my loan and I am in default. For the past 4 years I have been taking care of my XXXX son and working when I can. I have tried numerous times to work out a payment plan that works with my income. Navient has not only lied to me ; they have treated me terribly. The department of education who is the new servicer of my loan could care less. So now they sent me a letter telling me that my loan will be offset by my tax return. I wanted an income repayment plan that worked with my low income.I am on welfare due to how little I make. I am doing my best here and I have tried to take care of this. My tax return may not be big but that helps with my sons expenses. How can I get this fixed? I am desperate here ; I feel that no one cares and I was pushed into a situation that I had no control over.

Consumer Complaint: Navient is my student loan servicing agent. I have paid the bill each month. I have been ob a income driven payment plan due to my low paying XXXX XXXX job. I called to get the application to re-apply, they we will send it to you and they have done it and this has been over 4 months. I have made calls XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. No application. All I want to do is stay current with my student loan payments and they are stalling me not telling me the truth. It seems to me they want the student to default. Well I am not trying to do that. Please help me! I want to pay, and pay what I can afford. My Human Resources Department Faxed over to Navient the Income driven application in XX/XX/2018 and they are saying they never got it. The Human Resources office has the paper work showing they did fax the application to them. They keep lying to me. Please help me.

Consumer Complaint: I have worked for the XXXX XXXX XXXX for over 10 years while making payments with the intention of receiving the forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ). I have submitted my Employment Certification Form ( ECF ) over 3 times and received 3 different statements with 2 stating that I did not work for an agency that falls under the criteria. This has been debunked my HR team both times. Finally after proving to them that this was incorrect now they have turned down my ECF due to the following statement : NOT ELIGIBLE : based on our review, you do not have any eligible loan types. Under law the PSLF is only available for loans made under the XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Direct loans, which was my original loan type before it was sold to another borrower and now Navient ). I contacted them and they refused to change their answer. They sold my loan, changed the characterization of the loan ( probably for this reason ) and all while I had no agreement to this or did I sign a master promissory note. They now claim ZERO dollars apply to my loan forgiveness and I am getting a lawyer to take on the DOE. Please look into this as the customer service agent I spoke to said this was a common issue and she used the term " corrupt '' to describe it.

Consumer Complaint: I have not received communication from the account servicer, Navient, about the change in interest from this loan. I have noticed that every month, they have been raising the payment due for the loan without providing a notice that such a change has ocurred. I want them to be transparent about how they handle the payments and why that required payment keeps going up in just a matter of months. I assume that the interest rate of this loan is not supposed to go up this quickly. The rate just months ago was 8 % and suddenly without proper notice, it has been increased to 9 %
