Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: Student Loans are through Navient. In XX/XX/2018 I renewed my IDR through Student Loans.gov. In XX/XX/XXXX I called Navient and a girl couldn't locate it, so I called back and spoke to a guy who said he did locate it, but it was not processed. He said he would put a rush on it and in the mean time do a forbearance to bring account current through XX/XX/XXXX. I did that, and in XX/XX/XXXX I began getting mail, emails and phone calls about payments. I called them in XX/XX/XXXX and the girl said it was still being processed. Now we are at end of XX/XX/XXXX and I'm still getting phone calls, statements and emails that I'm behind in payments and that I should do a forbearance again. I sent them an email stating that I would not do that and that they need to do their job and process my IDR. I even check on the website and it was never processed.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Navient reported me as 60 days delinquent to the CRAs in XX/XX/XXXX ; however, if you look at my credit report you will see that they reported me as current for XX/XX/XXXX. One can not go from being current in one month to being 60 days past due the following month. Either Navient incorrectly reported me as current in XX/XX/XXXX OR Navient incorrectly reported me as 60 days late in XX/XX/XXXX. It is not possible that the company 's records substantiated both records at the time they were furnished. This illogical reporting calls into question the integrity of Navient 's reporting and whether it accurately reflects the terms of liability for the credit account as well as my performance and conduct with respect to the account. I question the status of my loan that Navient reported to its Board of Directors in those months where they designated me " current '' on my credit report but charged me late fees, which I just learned they have done 30 times in the past two years despite me having made payments on time.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, My name is XXXX. I initially had a student loan with Sallie Mae, and now it is transferred to Navient. The loans were disbursed in 2006 for a total amount of XXXX. And a total of 8 different loans. Some of the loans were deferred without my knowledge for 4 years. So basically after 13 years my loans are still owed XXXX. So I have only paid off XXXX dollars. I have calculated that I have actually paid XXXX in total payments to Navient. I will attach the file I pulled from Navients website as proof. All eight loans have different percentage rates, and it is all very confusing. I feel as though Navient, and Sallie Mae have taken advantage of me, and that I have lost a good amount of money because of their negligence.

Consumer Complaint: I am a co-signer on a loan that my deceased grandson originated with Sallie Mae and later transferred to Navient. I asked my daughter in law to contact them on my behalf to request a copy of the loan documents, payment history and proof that he opted out of an insurance that would have covered the debt ( according to Navient ) which I have requested in the past and never received. She sent that request XX/XX/2018. We did not receive any further correspondence from Navient until XXXX when the transferred it to collections and filed negative reporting on my credit history. They also said they mailed a letter on XX/XX/2018 stating they had to have authorization to release information to a third party. My daughter in law did not try to obtain anything until XX/XX/XXXX so I don't know why they would send a letter the day before. As of today I still have not received any of the information that has been requested. Up until XXXX I made all monthly payments timely because they told me it was owed although I have been requesting documentation to show how much was owed for how long and now I have started to question everything that has been paid because to date I haven't received any paperwork other than monthly statements.

Consumer Complaint: This company is horrible. My complaints are consistent with the lawsuit being filed. I constantly receive contradictory information from different representatives and have been constantly encouraged to enter forbearance periods. Every time I present my situation to a representative they have a different version of what is the best option for me though my situation and presentation of it has not changed. The ultimate response I always get is that " If I can't afford the payments I should enter forbearance until I can. '' This occurred even when I stated that I want to find a way to make payments. On multiple occasions representatives have hurried to get me off the line with promises that a coming email would explain things. Those emails ( on at least two separate occasions ) never came. When I finally convinced someone to walk me through the IBR plan and what to submit, I was told that everything was set and that my new payment would be $ XXXX/month beginning XX/XX/2019 and that an email would confirm that on the XX/XX/2019. I asked repeatedly if the company needed anything else from me and was told no. No email came and when I called today ( XX/XX/2019 ) I was told that my application was denied because they did not have proof of income. I told them they did and pulled up the document. They stated that I did not write the pay frequency on the stub. I informed the representative that I was told everything was good and that the paystub indicated clearly how often I get paid which is every two weeks. The representative agreed and stated that she could could see that, but that the company wanted a handwritten explanation on the stub itself and that I would have to resubmit the form. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was informed again that " the due could be extended '' or I could " enter forbearance '' if this was too much for me. I'm exhausted from dealing with this company. They are unclear, unfair and not about the well being of their customers. Their policies are confusing and inaccessible and their representatives constantly encourage options that ultimately cost consumers money. I'm filing this complaint because I want accountability. The student loan scene is all but a crisis in this country and someone should hold these companies accountable. Please contact me if you have further questions.

Consumer Complaint: I am a XXXX XXXX with some student loans serviced by Navient. Over a year ago I filed for a XXXX discharge and was granted a permanent discharge by XXXX. They apparently sent the proper notices to Navient and about half of my loans got discharged and I recieved a refund of what I had paid. But, the remaining half, now amounting to almost {$20000.00} still has not been discharged. It has been about a year since the discharge decision and notice from XXXX. I am in forbearance that is about to end and my balance is growing daily due to interest instead of being discharged. I have called Navient several times during the year and was told that verification processes were taking longer for these " consolidation '' loans. Last XX/XX/XXXX a rep told me my discharge was scheduled for XX/XX/XXXX of this year. That date has come and gone and no discharge still. Now, when I call Navient, they say they know nothing of my discharge and tell me to call XXXX. XXXX confirms what I already know, that my student loans are to be discharged. Navient does nothing and my balance keeps growing ...

Consumer Complaint: This school is no longer in existence after countless promises of job placement and top tier support. It's now 10 years later and I haven't made a dent in my loans. I am a graduate with honors and have made on time payments since the end of my 6 month grace period. Sallie Mae has not offered any help but extensions and forbearances that will only help them in the long run. Regretfully, I have chose some of those options in times of need over the last decade. I am looking for information on how to proceed with elimination of payment to unrendered services.
