Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Navient systematically and illegally failed borrowers at every stage of repayment which led to lawsuits. They have falsely put 4 separate inquiries on my credit report and have docked interest on every one of them which has caused my credit score to dramatically lower which stops me from financing a home for my family. On XX/XX/2016 there was an amount of {$6000.00} which is now {$6800.00}, Also on XX/XX/2016 there was an amount of {$3500.00} added to the report which is now at {$3800.00}. On XX/XX/2016 there is an amount of {$660.00} on the report which is now {$730.00} and another report on XX/XX/2016 of {$500.00} which is now {$530.00}. My graduation date was XX/XX/2016 which would make this information incorrect due to the fact that repayment would not take place until after the graduation date.

Consumer Complaint: Navient is billing me incorrectly. For years the amount of my payment due has been around XXXX. Since 2016 I began paying XXXX. In XXXX I made a payment of XXXX because it said I was overdue. It didnt make sense to me but Im trying to buy a house so I paid it. Then I called and they said they had made a mistake and they would credit my payments and I was now paid ahead till XXXX. I then logged in a few weeks ago and it shows I owe XXXX plus dollars in late fees! I called them and said this doesnt make any sense look at my payment t history. And even if that was the case when I overpaid when I made the payment of XXXX after they applied the amount to the normal payment of principal and interest the late fees should have then been paid. I dont have ANY statements or correspondence from them nor can they provide any that shows I have a late balance of XXXX plus dollars. When you look at my payment history you will see it for yourself.

Consumer Complaint: I have been paying on my student loans for 5 years now. After several forbearances ( recommended from Navient ), I started making payments of ~ {$260.00} per month. I recently went to pay my remaining balance in full ( ~ $ XXXX ) and thought I was done with my student loans. I also recently obtained a XXXX XXXX credit card that provides a free credit monitoring service and noticed an additional ~ $ 30K that was delinquent. I called Navient to ensure that the XXXX was all that I owed, and they assured me. I called the Department of Education line ( who was very helpful ) who discovered they sent accounts I was still paying on into debt collections. I need a resolution!

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2019 I submitted the necessary documentation for renewal of my IBR. On XX/XX/2019 Navient sent me a letter stating it's approved and that my new payments plan will be sent to me after XX/XX/2019. ( See attached ) However, Navient has not sent me this new payment plan. Please have Navient send me the new payment plan as they are required to do under Federal Law.

Consumer Complaint: I attended XXXX University from XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX ( Start date is approximate ). XXXX recently settled a lawsuit with the FTC for fraudulently recruiting students by lying about expected income after graduation, and number of students who acquired jobs after graduating, among other things. In addition, I personally was lied to about their job assistance program and their overall quality of education. I currently have a borrower 's defense to loan repayment application being processed which will hopefully dismiss my federal student loan debt but I still have a private loan which isn't covered by the borrower 's defense application. The private loan 's disbursement date was XX/XX/XXXX, Original amount was {$14000.00}, current unpaid principle is {$16000.00}, interest rate is 11.5 %. Before filing for borrower 's defense I also filed a consumer complaint with the Illinois attorney general. An investigation was done but in the end, nothing came out of it. I received a final response from the attorney general 's office stating that they simply couldn't provide anymore assistance. Many correspondents went back and forth between the Illinois attorney general 's office, myself, and XXXX but nothing was resolved. I have many documents from the attorney general 's investigation, signed statements from fellow classmates as well as my mother who at the time was involved in some of the nonsense that took place while I was attending school at XXXX. I had programming teachers not showing up for class, unqualified professors, a complete lack of education and received no real assistance from the career services department during or after graduation. I was told XXXX had partnerships with companies and that companies actively sought out XXXX students. This was not the case. I went to XXXX for XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX. They had zero XXXX XXXX opportunities or partnerships and the companies that did show up on " career day '' were companies like XXXX XXXX, phone companies, basically retail jobs or jobs you didn't need a college education to get. For a long time after graduating I didn't know what to do. I was in a lot of debt and had nothing to show for it. I was not educated in my field, I had no experience, I was hundreds of miles away from my family, trying to keep a roof over my head. My main job at the time, the one I held on to for dear life, was my XXXX XXXX job. Little did I know that job was going to save me as I ended up using my resources there to land a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX job. While I wasn't experienced in my field, I did know some XXXX and was good with computer hardware. This saved me and I was able to provide for myself. I wasn't paying my loans cause I couldn't afford to still but I was able to afford a place to stay. I remained resourceful and eventually began studying XXXX XXXX which opened more opportunities where I was at. I later applied to a XXXX XXXX position at that same company and that is currently what I'm doing now. It's not what I went to school for and I had to work hard to get it, and still do, but I am happy to have something. I spent so much time and money at XXXX. Looking back now it's even more obvious the lack of education I received. After studying XXXX XXXX and doing all I do with my current job, it is clear that XXXX did nothing but take my money. XXXX should be held accountable for their actions. XXXX preys on people, young growing adults who are nave enough to listen to their lies ; promising an education, learning experience, and career assistance that doesn't exist. Please help if you can.

Consumer Complaint: I called Navient today to make a complaint because they are not permitting me to renegotiate the interest rates on my private loans. My loan balance is more than {$100000.00} and has not changed despite my monthly payments. Due to steadily increasing interest rates, my monthly loan payments have increased from approximately {$500.00} to almost {$800.00} in less than 2 years. I am deeply concerned about their practices which feel predatory and unreasonable, especially to someone with a low-income background who was the first in her family to go to college.

Consumer Complaint: I have been a member of the United States XXXX XXXX since XXXX in both an XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have been a XXXX employee, without a break in service, since XXXX of XXXX. After passage of the public service loan forgiveness act, I contacted my loan servicer, Navient, and was informed that if I continued my federal government service and made payments on my student loans for 10 years, I would qualify for the loan forgiveness program. After 10 years of on-time payments and a continued 10 years of XXXX XXXX employment, I contacted Navient again in XXXX to see what I needed to do to apply for the program and was then informed that I did not have qualifying loans and would need to consolidate my loans and make additional payments for 10 years, with overlapping qualified public service, in order to be eligible. If I had been given this information when I originally called Navient in the XXXX timeframe, I would have consolidated my loans at that time. Navient has failed to carry out both the spirit and the letter of the public service loan forgiveness act by failing to provide any accurate information to me about my loans since I inquired after passage and implementation of the legislation. At a minimum, they should have given me accurate information when I contacted them. After failing to do so, they should have contacted me by letter or email to inform me that my loans did not qualify after I initially reached out to them and was given the incorrect information.
