Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: I authorized XXXX to take {$140.00} a month. They took that plus {$450.00}. I never authorized this. They used the information from one loan to deceptively take an additional amount out. When I told them they said it would take 5-10 days to refund my money. This happened two months in a row. Help

Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of illegal collection practices from Pioneer Credit Recovery. This agency is garnishing my wages without ever trying to attempt to talk it with me. This agency went straight to my employer with false letters to demands that payments be made to them from my paycheck. I had previously submitted 2 complains in regards to this issue and today I am submitting another to report a scam as this agency refuses to speak with me about this debt and will not provide statement about payments towards the balance. The Department of education has not sent me any notification indicating that payment are being received and against the debt. Pioneer Credit Recovery is garnishing my wages without a court order. I have informed them to stop collecting in this way since they have never worked with me and they said that they will not stop the garnishment. This is in violation for the Fair debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). As of this complaint, my employer has given Pioneer Credit Recovery {$6600.00}.

Consumer Complaint: I have been paying Navient/Sallie Mae for over 10 years. Over these years, I have called in multiple times to help with my loans. I was told instantly that I should defer my loans so that I can get my finances in order. So I did. When I was ready to pay, I called back and they convinced me to do the lowest monthly payment to start out, so I did. I always paid above the minimum, however, the payment never went down. When I met my now husband, he reviewed everything and shows that ALL of my payments were going to interest. ALL. We called up so they can adjust the plan. For the next couple of months, it seemed like the money was being distributed better, but after awhile, it was back to the same thing. This year alone, I have paid about {$4500.00} and {$1400.00} of it has gone to interest. I have only taken out {$27000.00} total however, to this day, I still owe {$41000.00}. I have asked them if we could come to a settlement agreement, but they said no. I feel like I am never going to pay this down and some of the loans go back as far as 1999 at this point. The people who answer the phone there are clueless and do not help at all.

Consumer Complaint: I have a student loan with Sallie Mae, it was opened in XXXX. I was paying it for 5 years, but I couldn't keep paying for all my debts because on the recession and my salary was frozen for 5 years, so I was forced to file for bankruptcy chapter 13. Sallie Mae closed my account and I didn't receive any information about it for those years under my bankruptcy. When I finished paying it last year XXXX, this account show up in my credit report under a new lender Navient. Navient didn't send me any information or anything to let me know I suppose to resume my payments, I discovered when I applied for a loan. It also shows some payments, I couldn't understand who was paying for it, at the beginning I thought it was a mistake, then I decided to complaint to the credit bureau, today I have their letter saying that in fact the account is belong to me. My complaint is why Navient don't send me any letter before starting reporting to my credit report, it's not fair, and why they add more than 10,000 to the original debt. I have to add that I'm a XXXX working for more than 10 year at inner schools and low income, helping the poorest families, and a single mother. I know there is only business, but our country is still and remains under God with liberty and justice for all, this company should start saying the pledge of allegiance, and do the right thing!

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I had trouble for the past several years in paying my loan due to stage XXXX XXXX. I recently went back to work and began to repay. I asked for a new payment plan and booklet which I received. I have been paying the amount due ( XXXX ) on the payment coupons. I keep getting reminders that I am delinquent and I owe more. After Paying in XXXX, I got a note that I still owed {$140.00}. while I paid with the payment stub, I was not sure why I am getting this other payment. I sent the payment along with a letter asking for an accounting of what was going on and why I am being asked for multiple payments. I did not get a reply. It is very difficult to juggle these payments with medical bills. After making another payment in XXXX ( XX/XX/19 ) of {$200.00} on my account using the payment stub amount of {$170.00} ( asking that the overage go to principal ), I just got another letter saying I was again delinquent. I am very upset and angry with this system. They never respond to my letters. I hope you can get an advocate to help with this. I want to pay my bills, but I can not pay if they keep changing the goal post. This also makes me question if I am getting credit for the money I am sending. I have the information on my bank statement verifying payment was cashed by Navient.

Consumer Complaint: Borrowed student loan funding from Navient back in XX/XX/XXXX for my sons pursuit of a degree from XXXX XXXX University. I believe Navient placed me in a risky and expensive subprime loan. The loan doubled in principle as I experienced hardship in the economic downturn in XXXX. I was lead by Navient to multiple forbearances that incresed to overall cost of their loan, instead of telling borrowers who did finally obtain repayment plans costly and un-affordable increases to their payments. In the end, I have been forced to repay far more debt than actually owed.

Consumer Complaint: In the past couple of weeks I have been receiving none stop calls from NAVIENT collectors. They have been calling me maybe 3 - 4 times a day. The number is XXXX and other numbers. The messages that they leave in the voicemail are vague and seemingly automated. I would also like to point out that when pressured ... I asked Navient who owns my loans, how can I contact them and make a settlement on my debt ... they simply gave me a false phone number that left me with no solution in terms of reaching out to who owns my loan in order to attempt negotiating a settlement.
