Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: In light of the recent/current lawsuit against XXXX XXXX XXXX I ask that my previous complaint be reopened and revisited. It is very much in line with what is going on now. It was their error that I was in the wrong loan category- they incorrectly put me in XXXX for my parent loans. I might have made a different choice in repayment type. They took that choice out of my hands. They predetermined where to put me - XXXX, which is not advantageous to me. It was impossible to figure out what loans I had ; customer service could never figure out my complicated loan history ; and then I would be barraged by incorrect email information that I could not overlook even tho I was getting verbal information that said otherwise because the website agreed with the emails. Let 's not forget what XXXX XXXX did doubledipping Grant money and loans- another story of deception. Now I'm about to go through this again when my loans go back into payment. I have no confidence that XXXX will be any better. It is also 100 % not fair that although I know repayment is coming, I can not be told the payment amount until sometime in XXXX with that payment due XX/XX/XXXX. No time whatsoever to plan and budget.

Consumer Complaint: I was only recently made aware that some of my student loans have adjusted interest rates. Therefore the interest keeps increasing making my payments unrealistic to make. I also keep getting random emails regarding forbearances which I never agreed to. I have been making payments but dont believe this is making any impact.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted Navient on numerous occasions back in XX/XX/2023 that I had lost my job and was unable to make the XX/XX/XXXX payment. I requested non-payment until employment, but no help was received. I contacted Navient in XXXX and told them I had a job interview and would notify them of the outcome, but I didn't get the job. I now have a prospect and will start the position in XX/XX/2023. I have asked Navient to stop with the harassing phone calls.

Consumer Complaint: Logged into my account because I received my billing notice via email and the Payment Amount Due changed from {$310.00} to {$400.00}. I called Navient for them to give the reason for change in payment amount. First the lady said I was on a graduated payment plan which was not accurate, as I had changed payment plans XX/XX/2023. The payment plan states fixed payments of {$320.00}, however I paid off one of the loans in XX/XX/2023 so the payments were {$310.00} The lady then put me on hold to check with their accounting. She came back and said the payment increased due to the increase in the interest rate from Congress in XX/XX/2023. I told her my agreement was XX/XX/2023 for fixed payments. No where in the document does it state that payments may fluctuate due to changes in interest rates. The only language in the document is a disclosure that states : Review of Payment Schedule Periodically, we review accounts and adjust Monthly Payment Amounts to ensure that loans will be paid off within their repayment terms. We will inform you of any such change before the new Monthly Payment Amount is due. Navient did not contact me regarding a change in my monthly payment amounts. I received a monthly statement with zero explanation as to why the payment amount changed. The payment plan is fixed payments. Again, no where in the document does it state that payments may adjust with changes in interest rates - because this is a FIXED payment plan. During the payment pause the interest rates went down. Did my payment amount go down? NO. It stayed the same FIXED payment amount and I paid it every month on time. Navient continues to practice their deceptive methods.

Consumer Complaint: I filed XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, which was XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX. This included my XXXX XXXX XXXX. The loan was removed from my credit report but then was put back on and into repayment in XXXX of XXXX. They are still trying to collect on this loan, even though it was XXXX. I have tried to talk to Navient but they keep telling me that it's not eligible for XXXX with no explanation as to why not. I have {$100000.00} of Federal student loans so figured with the private loan being XXXX it would help a little. Can you please help me figure out what to do? My XXXX lawyer went back and forth with a Navient lawyer for some time but nothing was resolved. From there, I had to have my lawyer send an email saying he was no longer representing me just so I could talk to someone about my loan and try to get answers.

Consumer Complaint: Good evening, In XXXX of 2023, I lost my job and have been out of work. Because of being out of work I am not able to make my student loan payments and was dropped from the repayment program I was in. From XXXX of 2023 through the present day I have reached out to Navient asking if I could put my loans in forbearance, they stated that I no longer have any time left and there is nothing they can do for me. In XXXX of 2023, I noticed that I received an email from Navient stating that I was re-enrolled back into a payment plan. I never agreed to be back in the program as I still don't have study income to keep up with the payments on the loan. Once again I asked if there is anything you can do to help out with my current situation. Each time I call which has been once a week, I have received different information about my case. I believe that Navient does not have a clue about how to handle my situation. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter stating possible litigation. I believe that Navient has unfairly handled my case and does not want to help. I can't be the only person in this situation.

Consumer Complaint: I attended the XXXX XXXX of XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. Since graduating its been a struggle to save money and pay any bills not to mention supporting a family. My private loans were originally Sallie Mae, but now Navient. I have exhausted every option and after paying {$40000.00} towards my loans I literally owe more than when I graduated. Its become a vicious cycle and my degree doesnt warrant the kind of salary one needs to pay this back. I will be filing a complaint and legal action towards XXXX XXXX for deceiving and upfront lying about their accreditation, job placements and financial options. Thats another story. With the recent Sweet vs Cardona case that won in favor of the student, I believe there is liability between these schools and lenders such as Sallie Mae and Navient. Navient should be more understanding and be willing to work with what the student can afford based off of income. I have applied for other jobs while working a job that can support this kind of payment and it would be a salary over XXXX XXXXXXXX, its certainly up there. Until I file a case against the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX I believe a fair payment would be income based, same as in the federal loans sector. I really believe that the Sweet vs Cardona case should be an example of what should be followed, a standard that the private loan industry should be held to. I do believe there is a true case to be made regarding the XXXX XXXX deceiving tactics and any enabler, such as Sallie Mae/Navient that aids in this scam. I feel there is little to know protection against these for-profit schools and people like me, who never defaulted and paid XXXX XXXX towards my loans, cant save a XXXX. Its not that I dont want to pay, but at this point its beyond my control. I need help. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX I received an email from Navient that my monthly billing statement is available for payment due XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX I paid the bill and received an email for payment confirmation for payment due XX/XX/XXXX. On XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX I received an email saying private student loan payment reminder for payment due XXXX XXXX. I got to the website to find that they took my {$500.00} payment for XXXX XXXX due date and applied it to all XXXX private loans.. But are also trying to charge me an additional {$310.00} for the same bill claiming I only paid XXXX of the private loans this month. This is false. They have done this before, XX/XX/XXXX.
