Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: In 2010 I had taken out a private loan from Sallie Mae for a cheap vehicle to possibly continue my education at XXXX XXXX University in XXXX WV. I was currently taking online courses in XXXX XXXX. After Sallie Mae closed it's doors I was transferred to Navient/XXXX. I fell into default after years of struggling to repay. I had my tax refund of over {$3000.00} offset a few years ago which has effected me tremendously to this day. So now and for years previous, my credit score is the worst, I wasn't able to get any type of help through Navient aside from refinancing through XXXX, I actively have XXXX XXXX XXXX and my grants are exhausted preventing any chance of going back to school. Trying to get back on track but it's been next to impossible for the past 9 years '. Non accredited school that is now closed..and a loan servicer who set me up for failure before they were shut down. Not sure if this is even the correct place to go to for help, but I need it.

Consumer Complaint: I had subsidized and unsubsidized loans with Navient from XXXX to XXXX. When I signed on in XX/XX/XXXX it said the student loans had been paid in full. I never received any correspondence from the company again. I thought it could be part of the lawsuit where loans were being excused. Fast forward to approx XXXX my loans are now almost {$18000.00}, and were bought out by another company. So that is almost {$5000.00} more, and I was also considered in default. I do not believe this is fair! I can hardly afford the payments as is! They should not have been allowed to do this and not notify me! I work hard, and still can not afford the payments. Why should I have to pay all this extra interest and fees?!

Consumer Complaint: I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report and found late payment on the dates below : XXXX/NAVIENT XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX I am not sure how this happened, I believe that I had made my payments to you when I received my statements. My only thought is that my monthly statement did not get to me, or the payment was not applied as fast as expected. I check my bank account and noticed that you deducted the money out of my checking account that on the month that you marked me late on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: I have been very ill, and on XXXX for many years and paid little attention to a private student loan I took out twelve years ago in California to return to school to complete my degree. For years, I did my best to make interest only payments but did not monitor my loan accounts until I recently applied for a XXXX Discharge and discovered several " impossible errors '' with Navient 's online financial records and data. After months of research I discovered that a serious error has been made in regards to a Private Student Loan I took out with Sallie Mae ( now serviced by Navient ) in the Spring/Summer of XXXX to attend XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, California. Navient claims that I took out two seperate loans in the amount of {$4500.00} each but I think this is 100 % inaccurate since I attended the school only halftime both term and there is no way that Iapid {$9000.00} for three course. Navient has mailed me photocopies of what they claim to the original promissory note, however I am almost certain that the note has been altered, and was either lost and re-typed, or who knows? Impossible to believe but I can prove without any doubt that they have made other " impossible errors '' with my accounts. The promissory note has my phone number lister incorrectly two times out three times I was required to list it, and is completely blank in the section ( Section D ) that the school and the school 's financial aid were required by law to fill out. Yet there are no signatures, no names no official stamps, no loan disbursement dates on the note. The school section is 100 % BLANK. Unfortunately too many years have passed for me to check my own personal bank records to verify deposits I made during that time, so I require my entire student file from XXXX XXXX XXXX, along with a Student Ledger, and any copies of anything I may have signed 12 years ago to properly review, research and audit everything anything connected to my return to XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, and the loans I am being told that I owe. HOWEVER ... despite multiple efforts by both myself and a Navient Customer Advocate to reach the school, multiple messages since XXXX of XXXX, multiple e-mails to the registrar, accounting, and the Director of Admissions ( a kind lady who knew me back in XXXX XXXX, NO ONE FROM XXXX XXXX XXXX has returned a single e-mail or phone call. I need help to reach someone at the school, anyone, who can help me get a copy of my student file and any/all loan information.

Consumer Complaint: Enrolled the income repayment plan and Navient told me my payments apply to the interest only. I had a bankruptcy in XXXX because of undue financial hardship, Navient placed forbearance 5 times, I have used up all my forbearance for the 18 years having this loan, which applied over 40,000.00 in interest and fees over this time. Navient took over my loans in XXXX from Sallie Mae. Sallie Mae had my loans since XXXX. They also placed me in forbearance holds and payments applied to interest alone, never principle, accumulating over {$20000.00} in interest alone from XXXX to XXXX. My loan to date is a total of {$230000.00} between my federal loans. This does not include {$30000.00} of private loans with 1 co-signers on two of my private loans, which are also in income based repayment status. I have never defaulted on my loans I believe my loans should have been included in my bankruptcy that happened in XXXX and again when I was part of the public service forgiveness program. This never happened, nothing happened to help decrease this loan because I couldn't afford the outrageous monthly payments they offered me. Instead, I paid towards interest and accrued more interest with forbearance, which has made my original {$120000.00} loan, now a {$230000.00} loan. I am seeking justice against this fraudulent issue and misleading information against Navient and the Universites that placed me in this unfair position with a never getting out of this cycle of student loan debt. In top of all this, I had reached my financial aid limit when attending XXXX Universitys Online XXXX program and could not afford to complete my XXXX after, 2 classes shy of my XXXX after attending that University from XXXX to XXXX. I didn't retain my XXXX. XXXX University only provided me my transcript after my bankruptcy in XXXX. They held any proof from me attending this school, which I had paid {$100000.00} to complete their online courses with signing financial aid forms and fraudulently requiring to do this in order to obtain my XXXX. The end result is I have no XXXX and I am swimming in financial aid debt for the rest of my life. I am currently a XXXX XXXXXXXX with an XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Texas and homeless.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: My loan payment was due XX/XX/XXXX. I have made on time payments for 7 years.Never late. My payment the was scheduled didn't get processed. XX/XX/XXXX I made another payment-but navient made me pay for XXXX and XXXX {$1400.00}. I had no other option. XX/XX/XXXX my cosigners received calls at XXXX saying my loans are past due and going into collections. I called navient today and they said they have not received a payment. Even though I showed that I payed. They said that payment XX/XX/XXXX was canceled. So I payed again today {$1400.00}, bc they have called my cosigners and sending emails to all of us. Now they have 4 monthly payments from me after lying saying I didn't make any payments. I called and they said they can't do anything about it. That both payments are getting processed. They then said we will have a conference call with my bank and proceed to leave me out of the conference call. They also said I would be denied for cosigners release because I was delinquent on a payment that I payed for already. I will be reimbursed the money in 5-10 business days in which all my checks will bounce. They wanted me to go delinquent on my loan. Making me pay for XXXX a month in advance. They processed my payment late, said the payment didn't exist and made me pay again after calling all my cosigners. I have been harassed and bullied by navient.

Consumer Complaint: I found out I qualified for the loan repayment program and signed up for that in XX/XX/XXXX when I began a new job. I have recently come to find out that I was lied to. It was NOT a repayment plan for the PSLF, but an actual reconsolidation instead via a 3rd party along the way. Thus, all the payments I have made since XX/XX/XXXX have not, nor will be, counted toward my 120 total payments needed for the PSLF condition. I was told that I'd probably be done paying by now. I'm currently enrolled with the PSLF loan and seem to be on the right track now, but all of the payments before this mixup of the XX/XX/XXXX reconsolidation that should have been counted can not be due to the lie I was told. I probably did sign some form then but obviously it wasn't correct and I have no clue how to fix this. I want to talk with someone bc I've been paying consistently since XX/XX/XXXX. My student loans are still high as ever and will soon be even with my house mortgage payments. I feel so defeated and beyond devastated. I am just not getting the correct information and being transferred nonstop. I've never done this before and was the first to go to college in my family. Please help me figure this out so I can get the credit for the years XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX I have been paying off my student loans and working in a nonprofit organization.
