Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: Navient was sued by the United States Consumer Federal Protection Bureau and Pennsylvania Attorney General XXXX for their deceptive practices and more concerning Student Loan Debt. U. S. Department of Education was also involved and named in the Class Action Lawsuit. Navient showed my account being adjusted due to claim, the settlement claim but the U.S. Department of Education never made any adjustments to my account as a result of the Class Action Lawsuit and at this moment during this Coronavirus Pandemic the world is facing, there are penalties being added to my account and deeply affecting my credit reports. It seems as though both agencies are still continuing their deceitful practices and handling of the Student Loan Accounts. U.S. Department of Education is not taking or accepting any part of these entries being part of Navient. Federal and Private Student Loan Accounts were handled by Navient and some were showing as double or triple accounts with penalties being added almost daily and being reported to the credit bureaus, affecting the credit scores and overall life. I am asking to have a copy of the results showing my Student Loan Account Forgiven in all as a result of the claim. I want a letter showing all account numbers, all of the amounts removed to include all penalties waived or reversed. Neither agency nor some of the employees seem to care about nothing else but to ruin other people lives even more so to included possibly having them XXXX or XXXX themselves during this Coronavirus Pandemic. How can anyone try to help others when other people are doing a job to ruin lives with negative and incorrect entries on their credit life. Please read : XXXX XXXX XXXX Thank you, XXXX XXXX

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I currently have 3 loans with Navient for which the interest rates are outlandishly high. For one loan the rate is currently 12.75 % and the balance is {$16000.00} and for the two other loans the rate is 16 % and the balances are {$12000.00} and {$12000.00}. My wife called Navient on my behalf XX/XX/20 and was informed that I would likely be eligible for a temporary interest rate reduction and Navient advised my wife to have me ( the borrower ) call to have the rates reduced. The customer service representative agreed with my wife that the rates were very high. When I called on XX/XX/20 to inquire about a temporary interest rate reduction, I provided Navient with all of my financial information and was then told that I did not qualify for a rate reduction. When I asked why I did not qualify for a rate reduction, I was only told that I " did not qualify for a rate reduction at this time on my account. '' I was not provided with any further details or solutions. I have called Navient in the past and have received temporary interest rate reductions. I have also asked for permanent rate reductions in the past and have been told this is not an option. The company also will not allow me to refinance with them for a lower interest rate. I am having trouble understanding why a fourth loan that I have with the company has a very reasonable interest rate of 2.75 % and why I can not be offered a lower, more reasonable interest rate on the three aforementioned loans.

Although I am making payment on the loan, the amount owed keeps going up due to the loan servicer constant increase of percent of the loan rate. My balance since 2007 still shows {$2500.00} ; although I have paid over {$5500.00}.

Consumer Complaint: Given the options, this track was the one that " best '' fit my issue. Neither I nor my mother have a student loan. On XX/XX/2020, Navient ( XXXX ) called my XXXXyo mother, whom I have POA over, as a hip-shot approach seeking info regarding XXXX XXXX, acct # XXXX. The caller ID 'd himself as XXXX, Employ ID XXXX, on a voicemail. When that failed, he proceeded to call me and left the same voice mail. I called to find out info about this issue and was told my info was obtained from XXXX ( XXXX ) and this was an attempt to locate XXXX XXXX, acct # XXXX over a student loan. We do not know XXXX XXXX, acct # XXXX and this is the 2nd time this type of call has occurred in as many months. I feel this is a violation of the DNCR, harassment, and abuse of information. I have since restricted my info at XXXX and noticed them of my concerns that their info of my family is being abused by Navient. I have expended at least 2 hours of my time thus far.

Consumer Complaint: I have set up automatic payment for my student loan with Navient. It is supposed to automatically withdrawal {$240.00} on the due date. For whatever reason they did not withdrawal it this month on it's due date of XX/XX/2020. Today XX/XX/2020 they called me and my husband 4 times before XXXX XXXX. It has only been 4 days, we did not receive any emails or other notices that the automatic payment didn't withdrawal. This seems excessive and aggressive for 4 days late and the fact that all of the bank information is update and working. SO this was something that went wrong on their end and instead of fixing it themselves they call us repeatedly as if we did something wrong. Then when my husband called they refused to speak with him, even though he is an authorized person on my account.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020, the President signed the CARES Act, which in part provided protection for student loan borrowers from institutions taking negative actions relative to repayment. On XX/XX/2020, I received a letter from NAVIENT indicating it would halt all payments due until XX/XX/2020. On XX/XX/2020, I received an alert from XXXX stating that NAVIENT placed a negative remark on my XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX credit profile, which caused my credit score to fall considerably. The negative remark basically stated that I was 30 days late in making my payment. On XX/XX/2020, I sent an email to NAVIENT to remind them of their commitment to forego all payments due until XX/XX/2020 based on the guidelines in the CARES Act. I also requested that NAVIENT remove all negative remarks that were placed on my credit profile immediately. I am an unemployed veteran who has been out of work for over two years. I do not have the ability to repay the school loans due to a lack of income, and do not foresee being in a position to do so anytime soon. I would appreciate it if someone from CFPB would intervene on my behalf and contact NAVIENT regarding this matter. Thank you.
