Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX applied for private loans on my behalf without disclosing the information. The loans are well over 7 years old and should be removed, however, they've appeared on my credit report. The debtor participated in illegal collection tactics by calling my employer and routed to the call center. Each day a different peer of mine reached out to let me know Navient call. The entire call center was aware that I had student loan debt in XXXX. I entered a borrower 's defense claim in XXXX due to unfair practices. XXXX XXXX XXXX never helped me find a job as promised, instead listed my current job with my current employer as job placement. I still don't make the XXXX a year salary that was promised when I enrolled. I attempted to consolidate my loans after Navient, the collection agency began to call my job and talk to everyone about the debt. Navient only consolidated a portion of my loans and left others out. I was under the impression that I was paying on all of my loans and later found out that the private loans were charged off. Made no sense. If I couldn't consolidate them all then why bother with consolidation. Since then, I've been following up on the Borrower 's Defense claim for 4 years only to be told that my claim is still being reviewed. I've been included in 2 class action lawsuits. One for improper collection activity and the other for Borrower 's defense. Yet Navient continues to report every month to the collection agencies of bad debt when I've been working for 4 years to resolve the matter. This issue has prevented me from being able to purchase a home.

Consumer Complaint: I have had two student loans with Navient ( used to be Sallie Mae ) since XXXX. Per the contract terms the payments and due dates were to remain the same. I have been paying these loans since I graduated in XXXX. I took 1 deferment during a layoff. However, two things happened that Navient did without my knowledge or consent. On XX/XX/XXXX they changed the due date on one of the loans ( the higher payment one ). Thus, making it late every month. They also changed my mailing address. I never asked for any mailing address change. The only way I even knew about any of these delinquencies or the address change ( XX/XX/XXXX ) was when I logged into my account to print out tax information. I did not report an address change with the post office or anyone else. In fact, I have lived at the same address since the day I was born. This is infuriating. Now today I received a letter ( forwarded somehow because the address is still wrong ) from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX telling me Navient reported my loan in default! When I attempted to call the number on the letter a recording states that they are busy handling COVID issues and to go to the website for CARES act info. I have tried to resolve this with Navient and have used the email option so I would have a record of my actions. They refused to do anything to rectify their actions. This is not the first time I've issues with Navient. I also had issues with them refusing to change my name. I have been married since XX/XX/XXXX. They still have my maiden name on the loan ( XXXX ).

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, Navient had a principal balance of {$21000.00} on 4 loans. I made payments of {$120.00} a month, with a certain amount of the {$120.00} paid to each loan. I pay through Navient.com. On that page it shows my payment that is applied to each loans principal and interest. I paid a few dollars above the interest showing on the web page for each loan. For the entire year of XXXX, I paid {$120.00}, even though the accrued interest for all 4 loans was {$100.00}. Not a single penny on XXXX went towards lowering my balance. In XX/XX/XXXX, I was hit with a {$980.00} increase in my loan balance to where my new principal went to {$22000.00}. This affected my credit report as a derogatory remark, even though I was making payments above the accrued interest on all 4 loans. I called Navient and they informed me that the additional charge was for capitalized interest that had accrued on the account and that for my payments to go down, I had to pay {$880.00} first before I could begin to see a reduction on my principal. This information was not communicated to me in a timely manner. I paid the entire year of XXXX without being notified of this amount of capitalized interest. There was no letter, email, or notification on the website if this accrued capital interest. So now I have a derogatory remark on my Transunion credit report, my total principle went up from {$21.00}, XXXX on payments of {$120.00}, which covered the accrued interest of all 4 loans. Then my principal balance went up to {$22000.00} in XXXX. Why was I not notified of the status of the principal of my student loans? Why no notification in a timely manner? Why was this capitalized interest increasing in XXXX not showing in my balance in {$2000.00}? Why was this capitalized interest not showing on the website in XXXX? Why was this capitalized interest, which was accruing in XXXX all charged in 1 month in XXXX? Why do I have to make a {$880.00} payment to even begin paying {$1.00} towards the balance on my student loans? I feel this a violation of the Fair Credit Act. I feel the services violated the terms set by notifying the borrower within 30-60 days of a change, an increase in the interest. I believe it is a violation that Navient did not inform me that an {$880.00} payment has to be paid this month before a single payment can be applied to my principal.

Consumer Complaint: Navient/XXXX have been reporting to the credit bureaus for years, rightly so. However, on XX/XX/XXXX I received a settlement offer letter to settle my student loan debt. We sent the settlement amount, the check was cashed, but now they say I still owe almost {$850.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX, after numerous calls and transfers to different departments, I was told by Navient/XXXX to submit my paperwork ( settlement offer and copy of check ) to XXXX XXXX Claims. I was told to note the reason for the fax as Navient XXXX Offer Management. I faxed the information to XXXX and was told they would open a ticket to investigate and to call back in 7-10 days. I called back after 7 days and was told that Navient didnt authorize the settlement, even though XXXX did ( theyre together ). They stated that the balance of {$850.00} is still owed and theyve been reporting the loan as defaulted to the credit bureaus.

Consumer Complaint: This complaint pertains to Navient and their processing of my student loan payments. I had previously submitted a complaint ID # XXXX. Following the submission of my complaint, I received a response from Navient indicating that they were extremely sorry for the issues with my account, and that they were going to be changing my bills so that I only received 1 statement per month instead of the 2 that I was receiving. They also assured me that they had corrected all the misapplied payments and removed any late fees and penalty charges. Navient did advise that this would not go into effect until the XX/XX/2020 statement. I am now in receipt of the XX/XX/2020 statements - emphasis on the plural - and they reflect that I have an outstanding balance, outstanding late fees and I've been receiving harassing phone calls from Navient agents telling me that my account is past due and that it is adversely impacting my credit score. I've attempted to get them to review their records prior to calling me, or even after they've called and begun harassing me, but they refuse and insist that I am mistaken and that my account is past due. Navient 's blatant disregard to rectify this situation is believed to be intentional and directly targeted at trying to obtain more fees and charges and drag the payment of my loan period on so that they can reap the benefits by way of ever incurring interest on the accounts. I am given 2 separate statements each month and I make the payments in full and prior to the due date. I have several loans in each " packet ''. I do not control how the payments are apportioned, Navient does. Each and every month since they've been handling my loans ( in excess of 1 year ), they misappropriate the payments ; overpaying some loans and underpaying other loans in each packet. I have attempted to resolve this situation directly with Navient with no success. Navient 's lackadaisical response to my complaints demonstrate an intentional disregard for providing proper customer service and likely illegal activity. Navient 's disregard of the CFPB process, and their flippant response to my complaint, which was a complete and total lie is absolutely appalling and needs to be corrected. If Navient refuses to correct the situation, there will be no choice but to pursue legal action. Navient 's ongoing harassing phone calls and refusal to correct this situation is evidence of their intentional attempts to inflict emotional distress upon me and cause further financial harm. The behavior that they have displayed is not only despicable but should be punished. I am certain that I am not alone in these complaints against Navient. Surely the numerous legal defeats they have suffered does not deter them from continuing to abuse and punish their customers. I am giving the CFPB process one more chance in hopes that there is someone advocating for the consumers here. If this process fails, I will be left with no other choice than to protect my interests by more aggressive means.

Consumer Complaint: I have 12 student loans that are over 7 -10 years old with Navient. While starting my XXXX career, It was recomended everytime I called about default concerns that I put them in forbearnce, which I complied with. About 3 years ago, I decided to accept an offer by XXXX to consolidate the loans, and I entered the income driven repayment plan and applied for the PSFL program, because I XXXX in a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX that qualifies for the 120 payment loan forgiveness program. I have made over 30 payments by autopay, and on my credit reports it indicates an excellent payment history for the past 3 years. When I consolidated and entered the program, I was told this would help my credit rating and it has not. The problem is that Navient still has the twelve loans that are 7-10 years old on my credit reports and they show paid with a XXXX balance. Last year, I contacted Navient and requested that they remove the loans from my report since I consolidated, they are paid in full, and I have a good payment history with the income driven repayments for the past 3 years. They denied my request, and now all twelve loans indicate 1 payment 90 days late in 2016 and it is hurting my score. The late payments didn't show up until I requested that they remove the loans from my report. I couldn't have made a late payment, because I never made a sigle payment during all the years of forbearance and everytime I called, they thanked me and said " I showed a current forbearance status. '' Is Navient exempt from reporting loans that are over 7 years old? My complaint is that I am working hard to pay on time for three years now, and Navient does not seem willing to help with my situation.

Consumer Complaint: They were contacted and told of my XXXX. I am in the process of submitting paperwork yet they call incessantly. Ive reminded them multiple times that I have a deferment and my daughter that the loan was for has all her loans in deferment and that Im working on the application for forbearance. I have also specifically asked them to stop calling and threatened contacting you and the attorney general. I receive at last 3 calls a day, most before XXXX or around XXXX. Today I received one at XXXX on the nose. My daughter picked up and told them she used to work for compliance for debt collections and that calling that early and late, that incessantly and after they were told to stop is illegal and that we would be contacting you she was hung up on.
