Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: You told them to stop contacting you, but they keep trying
Consumer Complaint: More than 10 years ago I was a co-signer on a student loan for an ex spouse. In the last two weeks, I have received daily phone calls demanding payment. I have no connection with the borrower and was offered no options for resolution. I was threatened with negative action against my credit if I did not make a payment. I had no information regarding the loan and was offered no verification on loan amount, past due amount, or even account numbers. I asked to no longer receive phone calls regarding the matter, and was told the " calls will continue until you pay. '' This is harassment and a violation of the law regarding debt collection.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Navient is showing a high balance of {$8000.00} on my XXXX XXXX credit report. This is impossible, because the account was paid off through a forgiveness program years ago. The account is also past the 7 year statute of limitations, and should have been removed from my credit reports years ago.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Old information reappears or never goes away
Consumer Complaint: I have sent four certified letters to XXXX - Tracking # XXXX Delivered XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Tracking # XXXX Delivered XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Tracking # XXXX Delivered XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Tracking # XXXX Delivered XX/XX/XXXX XXXX One for every 30 days since XXXX. I have asked to verify all Navient Accounts with names and update all accounts with corrected dates. I have yet to be successful. All they responded with is the same thing that is being reported. All these accounts are outdated and showing incorrect dates of last payment and its restarting the statue of limitations of 7 years. They are not giving me absolutely no updates and 4 of these 7 accounts of Navient have been deleted from my spouse 's account that have the same account numbers and balances since I was joint on her account. Amounts that have been deleted on my spouse account are {$6300.00}, {$4700.00}, {$4700.00} & {$6200.00} on XXXX. I have called numerous of times XXXX starts a dispute and I wait the time limit and they give me no updates on any of my accounts. I feel this is all an injustice on my reputation of an old account that I am being held accountable and XXXX is not reporting my account correctly. All seven accounts should have been deleted years ago. It's showing a last payment in XXXX and XXXX so it resets it's time and that is inaccurate. On one report it showed a payment of {$1.00} and that is not accurate. Re-setting the time on all these Navient Accounts is such an injustice. I have sent them proof of deletion from other credit bureaus ( Certified Tracking # XXXX )

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was already discharged in bankruptcy and is no longer owed
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an e-mail and letter from Navient attempting to collect on the discharged debts. On XX/XX/XXXX, my five Tuition Answer Direct to Consumer Private Loans were discharged under chapter XXXX bankruptcy case. Navient is contacting me and attempting to collect the discharged debt. Navient is also inaccurately reporting these direct to consumer private loan accounts as past due or in repayment on my credit reports for XXXX and XXXX when they were clearly discharged XX/XX/XXXX. Navient was properly listed in my chapter XXXX bankruptcy schedules. They also received notification of assets and filed claims on XX/XX/XXXX. Navient also received notification of the bankruptcy discharge.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: I reached out to Navient to tell them about a student loan for which I last made a payment in XX/XX/XXXX. I always never understood why I was making payment on this loan as I had only federal loans and no private loans. When I lost my job in XXXX, I stopped making payments and Navient/Sallie Mae ruined my credit and hounded me with abusive calls. I have over {$70000.00} in student loans for which I'm struggling to make on-time payments. I have lost 2 out of my 3 jobs and can't afford to make any payments on this loan. Navient responded saying that I signed for this loan and provided an electronic signed document. This loan has a cosigner and the cosigner hasn't even signed this loan. The document is not even valid. Navient also said that they have taken this out from the credit report but still I'm unable to get my own place because this always shows as a bad debt and I'm expected to pay the full amount with 22 % The loan has passed its statute of limitations and should be completely removed from my credit report. Attached is the proof of a denial request from XX/XX/XXXX 2020 where I couldn't get a housing loan approved because of this debt

Consumer Complaint: I borrowed {$8000.00} from Sallie Mae. I have paid around {$4000.00}. My loan has been sold two times and now Navient owns my student loans. Navient claims I owe over {$12000.00} on the loan. This makes no sense. I called and offered to settle the loan for {$5000.00}. Navient told me " No ''. Navient has created a situation where I can never pay them off. I want to completely severe ties and no longer have this scam debt. Please help me.

Consumer Complaint: Navient enrolled me in a payment program to catch up on my payments under the guise that if I made a payment of {$220.00} that same day ( XXXX XXXX2020 ), I would not be reported to the credit bureau as being late as I was working with the loan company to get current as this was a form of forbearance. As long as I made the payments for the months of XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX my account would be brought current and I would not be reported. Under this program I also had to provide my debit card information to be signed up for automatic payments for XXXX, XXXX, and an additional 12 months after. I learned yesterday ( XXXX XXXX2020 ), that Navient did report me to the credit bureaus as being 120 days late and reduced my score by 20 points. I then called Navient after learning this to get more clarification. The supervisor I spoke to, XXXX XXXX ( Employee XXXX ), told me I was given wrong information that they would still be reporting me to the bureau and that there was nothing to be done if my credit score was impacted due to the misinformation I received. I also asked for the recording of that initial call when I was signed up for the program, she told me I would need an attorney to do so via court. Navient has done this exact same thing to me back in XXXX of 2020 by offering a different automatic payment program. They reported me to the credit bureaus after they said they wouldn't and my score fell 60 points. They are lying to consumers in order to get same day payments.

Consumer Complaint: I have had a student loan since XXXX at 2.125 %. It was unfortunately sold to Navient years back and have been paying {$320.00} since XXXX. Then Covid19 came and then student loans were suspended I just received a letter saying my interest rate is now 3.125 % and my monthly bill for the next 137 payments is now {$340.00}. This may have been a clerical error on Navients part. However trying to get a competent customer service rep on the phone is impossible even if the situation is explained multiple times. In addition if this was an error, how many other errors have they made?
