Consumer Complaint: {$6400.00} has vanished from the my records. They refuse to account for it .They owe me this money for an illegal tax offset and wage garnishment. Now, its disappeared.. vanished..not on my records anywhere.. no answers from them as to where the money is. Dept of Ed refunded the {$470.00} dollars that they received out of the nearly {$7000.00} that was taken.. but Navient has not accounting for the {$6400.00} that they received. They have embezzled it.. and are extorting money from me again with a phony default, fines and fees etc because I refused to pay them till me account is reconciled.. If I had done that, they would owe me another {$5000.00}. Im not paying the same loan twice..

Consumer Complaint: Navient services my Federal Student Loans. In XX/XX/XXXX the Federal Government with the CARES act stated that Federal Student Loans could be in deferment until XXXX of XXXX and not accrue any interest. I called Navient and stated I wanted to take advantage of this as I had some other large loans to pay back and my husband was out of work due to COVID. The informed me that I was eligible and that their would be no interest added to my loan from XXXX to XXXX. Then I read that this would be continued until the end of the year. Navient was already sending me notice that I was behind in my payments as of XX/XX/XXXX so I called them and they told me I could go into Forbearance but interest was accruing on my loan and it had been since I put it in Forbearance in XXXX. I informed them that I understood and the Navient CS person stated in XXXX that I would not be charged interest. The Navient CS today stated that my loan is not owned by the Education Department and only Education Department Loans were entitled to this so they are putting another whopping amount of interest on this loan. My loans started out at {$61000.00} in XXXX and today after making many payment are at {$68000.00}. I am 2 years from retirement and they just continue to go up. I understand that I took this money out years ago to try and better my life and the my kids life and it did provide me a better job, but I have paid so much in already, which Navient only shows what I've paid since XXXX and I own more and more all the time.

Consumer Complaint: Navient holds the three unsubsidized FFELP and two Subsidized FFELP loans that were acquired while attending XXXX University. As I have informed Navient that XXXX University loss it accreditation and I did not received my degree/certificate. Tis can be verified with the XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was informed since the school closed at no fault of mine that I would be entitled to forbearance/forgiveness, since I was not granted a degree of completion. I have written to informed Navient that I am also in a XXXX 's XXXX and my credits will be transferred. I continue to receive harassing phones calls beginning at XXXX throughout the day until various times in the evening up until XXXX. On most days excluding the weekends I will receive 7 to 8 phone calls, no response to any written correspondence that I have submitted and I also receive numerous harassing emails weekly. I would have no problem paying my debt, if I had received my degree before they closed the school. Why am I being harassed for XXXX losing their accreditation!

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX, after the Cares Act was passed, I call Navient to inquire how this impacted my student loans. Their representative informed me that nothing was required on my end, that the Cares Act automatically put my student loans into forbearance ( I could be wrong about the term ), and that no further action was required. In XXXX, I logged into my Navient account and, to my surprise, my loans were showing past due. I called Navient to find out why this is and was told that my type of student loans weren't covered under the Cares Act. Now, first of all, I had no idea there were different types of student loans. Secondly, why was I not told this in XXXX. Now, not only do I have an account that is extremely past due, but they've reported me to the credit bureau and my credit score has dropped dramatically. I tried to speak to Navient about this and they were far less than helpful, so I filed a dispute with the 3 credit agencies ( XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX ). They asked Navient and, apparently, Navient refused to change it. One thing to note, I immediately paid the balance once I learned the accounts were overdue. To summarize 1. I had no idea that my student loan was any different than any other student loan 2. The Navient rep had informed me that no further action was required I'll also add, I would think that some form of communication would be called for when an account was this late. Yet, I never had one call from Navient.

Consumer Complaint: I was offered a consolidation of my federal student loans buy sallie Mae over ten years ago. That loan is now with Navient. I was not informed that it would become a private loan. I was struggling as a single parent and have many health problems. I am now laid off due to coronavirus and because this huge loan is now PRIVATE the forbearance of payments and interest until XX/XX/XXXX is not applicable. Over the years I was talked into taking forbearances by Navient because I couldn't afford the monthly payments. My loan has gotten higher and higher. I am XXXX and these loans are from almost 20 years ago. They claim to have forgiveness programs but that is not what they are. They are rigid and lengthy and you really end up paying everything back and a lot more. I was young, naive and on my own. Had I known better I never would have gone to college. I will likely be dead before this loan is payed off. They should not be entitled to use the word FORGIVENESS because it is a euphemism for " we will take everything you have until you are done. '' This has become the centerpiece of my life. I feel hopeless along with millions of other borrowers. I have worked like a dog my whole and pay taxes on the necessities of life and then get taxed on my income to buy those necessities. If any REAL forgiveness is ever established by the government I am screwed because I was railroaded into a PRIVATE consolidation. What they did was deliberately deceiving and the should be held accountable. I may now have to file for bankruptcy in the hopes that I can enjoy the rest of my few good years left.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX from Navient, extension XXXX, called me at XXXX XXXX this morning looking for my sister, claiming I was listed as a relative. This is highly unlikely since my sister and I are estranged and I have seen her once in 15 years, at my fathers funeral. I called back and asked for a supervisor who attempted to tell me it was legal because it was public record. Calling at XXXX XXXX isnt legal and I have my doubts that calling others trying to find a debtor is legal either.
