Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Don't agree with the fees charged
Consumer Complaint: I have been garnished for 6 years at XXXX $ from my social security benefits monthly. My original debt was XXXX XXXX I did the math recently and came up with XXXX $ back in XXXX. The collection agency in charge of my debt. Has out of that number taken XXXX $ in fees with XXXX roughly going to the actual debt. I checked the max amount they can legally take is 40 % of the original debt. According to mine and theirs math they have taken 90 % of my original debt in fees. I am XXXX and I am pretty sure what they are doing is illegal. I would like to have the rest of my student loan debt discharged seeing as how they have already taken almost the entire amount of my debt in fees, and I AM XXXX!

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: There is no way that these companies investigated this student loan. The same information continues to report on my credit. I honestly don't believe I was late and I don't agree with the total balance that they are reporting on my credit. It continues to report several inaccuracies among the 3 credit reporting agencies from the last student loan company. How is that possible? For example, Each bureau reports that I was late on a different date Also, Hows it possible that youve reported me 90 days late with no late payments prior to that? Wasn't Navient sued by Cfpb before for not applying payments to consumers accounts correctly?

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX I am aXX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXXmostly patients XXXX and above in XX/XX/XXXX XXXX FL XXXX I finished my training programs in XXXX and wanted to serve my community better so I got a job with a non profit with XX/XX/XXXX. In XX/XX/XXXX I started working as a XX/XX/XXXX with XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX. Tax ID/EIN- XXXX My wife wanted our kids to be closer to their grandparents- so we moved to Florida. I stopped working at XX/XX/XXXXin XX/XX/XXXX - So I worked for this non profit employer about 3 years and 9 months. I started working for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX I am currently employed by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX the XX/XX/XXXXXXXX their Tax ID/EIN- XXXX. I have been paying off my student loans since XXXX. I consolidated my federally subsidized and unsubsidized student loans around this time with SallieMae. These loans were converted to Navient loans automatically in XXXX. I have since been making student loan payments with Navient. I have been working at non-profit clinic for about 11 years now. Someone mentioned this Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. This week I went on the StudentAid.gov website to learn more. The two non profit companies I have worked for since XXXX are " Eligible '' but the website is telling me I have to have to have 10 years of " Direct Loan '' payments to qualify and not FFEL loans-Family Federal Education Loans ( the Navient loans I have been making payments on are FFEL loans ). Many other applicants have had this problem and complain the PSLF program is a poorly run Federal Program-as documented in these articles. https : XXXX https : XXXX? XXXX https : XXXX The current system is hostile to the student loan borrower and does nothing to promote working for non profit programs. Here are my complaints : -Many employees of qualifying Non-Profit companies ( possibly over half of employees ) with college degrees have federal student loans. Most non profit companies do not tell their employees about the PSLF program. -For many paying off Federal student loans the PSLF program remains a secret program. -In XXXX when I started making loan payments- Sallie Mae before Navient did not explain the PSLF program. -My loans were automatically transferred from Sallie Mae to Navient- Navient did not explain the PSLF program. -The Department of Education never contacted me- as a non profit employee making loan payments- about the PSLF program. if you want to reach me that would be great- my email is- XXXX and my phone number is XXXX thanks. I have faith that the US Department of Education really cares about people like me who have devoted their lives to public service. I'm surprised XXXX XXXX hasn't fixed these problem yet- President Trump says she's really smart. He knows all the best people.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: 1. Before Navient took over the loan in XXXX, a {$15000.00} payment was made on the loan, which brought it down to about the same amount. ( Original total was {$30000.00} ; the loans were paid {$15000.00} and consolidated. See attached screenshot from Navient site ) After that I made payments, over many years. Throughout that time I attempted to lower my payments so that I could make them, but was consistently talked into a forbearance, which has only increased the amount of a loan significantly. 2. In XXXX, I made a payment of {$8000.00} to my loan total which was about {$15000.00}. Today when I look at the total on the Navient site, it has gone back up to {$17000.00}. I was never informed that interest was going to accrue over the subsequent 3 three years or that the payment wasn't going to cut the balance in half. 3. See attached screenshot. Just in the past month my balance has increased by {$100.00}. For what reason? 4. I am a XX/XX/XXXX, I've never brought home more than XXXX a year. I XX/XX/XXXX in a private school, so I am not eligible for any kind of loan forgiveness. However, approximately XXXX of the original XXXX has been paid since the loans were dispersed in XXXX and in XXXX, but now I am being taken advantage of by a for-profit institution that incentivizes students going into forbearances. At this rate, they will never be paid off.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: All 6 student loans accounts on XXXX is reporting a total DIFFERENT ACCOUNT NUMBER and BALANCE then XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX reporting XXXX '' on all 6 Dept Of ED/NAVIENT Accounts, which is very inconsistent from XX/XX/XXXX Record but also very unorganized and incorrect and not 100 percent accurate which is a violation. The same account on XXXX reporting a different account number of " XXXX " XXXX '' XXXX '' " XXXX '' " XXXX '' " XXXX '' These accounts appear to be furnished by the same creditor so why is all the provided data different? It is your duty to ensure thats all information reported is consistent and most importantly accurate and you have failed to do so. Please Delete this erroneous account immediately.

Consumer Complaint: We where disbursed a private Student Loan on the XX/XX/XXXX for {$5000.00} and XX/XX/XXXX for {$5000.00} and only XX/XX/XXXX for {$8500.00}, our co-signer later filed bankruptcy ( who is now deceased ) which had nothing to do with us paying the loan yet Sallie Mae/Navient according to my payment history sent in XXXX charged us a Capitalization Fee of {$4000.00}. Why did it matter that our co-signer filed bankruptcy she was not the one going to pay the loan back and the loan never went into default at least I was not sent anything so how could they charge us a capitalization fee? They are telling me these loans will not be paid back until XXXX that is way past 10 years.
