Consumer Complaint: My student loan, is owned by Navient. Up until XXXX, XXXX, I've either been in their forbearance, or deferment programs. However, from XXXX XXXX, they inconsistently listed my account as 'late ' by 90 and 120 days. However, my account was in good standing, for the previous month ( s ). Example : XXXX & XXXX, XXXX, shows my account 90 & 120 late, but XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX, my account is in good standing. So, how can I be 90, or even 120 days behind? XXXX and XXXX, would have had to be 30 and 60 days, behind, but they are being reported as in good standing. This is the case for XXXX & XXXX, where Navient is inconsistently showing, my account, as 90 & 120 late, when the preceding month ( s ), are in good standing. I've sent all three ( 3 ) credit reporting agencies, a formal dispute. All but one ( 1 ), XXXX, have removed the in formation. I even wrote Navient, and they refuse to either correct, or remove the items in questioned. Replying, that I was late, and that my deferment didn't cover the dates they are reporting. Their reporting is skewed, and without merit.

Consumer Complaint: So basically the week of XX/XX/21 I called Navient and asked how can I get late payments from XXXX XXXX off of my credit report. I was told by a rep that I could write a goodwill letter to be considered. It was after a letter I recieved XX/XX/21 they told me that they don't accept goodwill letters for removing late payments at all. This pretty much means I put in time and effort to write a letter to them that had no meaning. My argument was why would a rep tell me to write a goodwill letter when in fact I have no chance at getting them removed whatsoever. I felt like this was extremely deceptive and/or the rep didn't know their actual policies. Maybe it was just to get me off the phone but I feel as though if a rep from a government agency doesn't know their policies, this is extremely negligent on Navients ' part because they service billions of dollars worth of loans nationwide. I proceeded to email their top officers ( including their XXXX & XXXX XXXX to address this issue and it still wasn't resolved even though the rep that reached out to me ( XXXX XXXX XXXX and confirmed that the rep didn't " clarify '' they can't accept goodwill letters. This is a problem because as a consumer I have the right to know what and what isn't accepted by their company. Before I wrote the letter, the rep should have told me they letter would mean nothing. After that didn't work I disputed my XXXX XXXX and XXXX collection entirely because the information across all three bureaus don't match up correctly XXXX XXXX percent. The date opened, date reported, balance owed, last payment, and date of last active are all different across all three bureaus. I check my credit report religiously and disputed these discrepancies with all three bureaus and they have failed to remove them due to these inaccuracies. I've done a lot of research and I feel as though I'm doing everything right and they are failing to remove these inaccuracies. I and currently at XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX respectively. These inaccuracies on my credit report are preventing me from doing so many things its ridiculous. I'm asking you all to fully investigate this matter and have all data that is inaccurately reported removed immediately.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, I am writing to document significant issues with my current student loans and request remedy. I did not understand the terms of the loan when I originally took them as a XXXX student more than 10 years ago. The amount that I owe now is more than four times the original principal, despite the fact that I only completed my education and licensure in the fall. I feel preyed upon and Navient will not offer any remedy, despite multiple attempts to work with them ( email exchange with Navient attached ). [ I would write a few sentences here about what you knew and what the situation was when you took on the loans ] I took out {$46000.00} in student loans at age XXXX to pay for school expenses including books and tuition. I assumed that there would be some interest, but I didnt understand what a variable rate was and the impact that this purchase would have on my well being and livelihood. I am currently a XXXX XXXX XXXX and I have to work five jobs to pay my monthly payment. The interest only payment is approximately {$2100.00}. I have to pay above the interest to make even the slightest dent in my principal. As a result, I work a full-time job Monday through Friday, and four part time jobs including XXXX at two separate universitys and doing XXXX XXXX at two separate companies. This is not a sustainable practice, I am often exhausted and unable to properly care for myself and my family, I am also a mother. I have reached out to Navient multiple times regard additional payment options. I was denied twice via telephone and once via email for loan refinancing. The person I spoke with was unable to state why I did not meet the requirements for loan refinancing, they stated that they enter my information into the system and are provided with the options. The people I spoke with were also unable to tell me what had to be done in order for me to meet loan refinancing requirements with Navient. Additionally, I contacted Navient and was notified that they are unable to modify or settle any of my loans for a lesser value. Principal / Current balance / Variable interest rate XXXX / XXXX / XXXX XXXX / XXXX / XXXX XXXX / XXXX / XXXX XXXX / XXXX XXXX XXXX / XXXX XXXX XXXX / XXXX / XXXX XXXX / XXXX / XXXX Total Principal = XXXX Current Balance = XXXX This student loan experience is overwhelming. I am hopeful that, with your assistance and advocacy, I can have a reasonable monthly payment and pay off the principal I owe rather than extreme interest. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: When the government enacted the Cares Act with Covid I missed payments for federal student loans. I did receive notification of late payments, but believing that they were in error as the loans had all been put into a suspended state I ignored the letters. When I did follow up as to why I was still getting letters ( that I believed to be in error ) I was informed that the accounts could be brought up to date under disaster measures and then put into deferment. I accepted that resolution and then paid the accounts in full the following month. I am currently, working to refinance my home. My credit score has been devastated by this delinquency. A delinquency caused by a misunderstanding. The misunderstanding that occurred because Navient did not well communicate that these loans did not qualify for protection during this unprecedented worldwide disaster. It is not uncommon to receive notifications in error from my student loan holders. There were wrong communications during XXXX XXXX and XXXX. Everything in the news and otherwise indicated that these loans were protected. I have contacted the Navient Advocate and was offered a letter of good standing but not something that will remove the marks from my credit history.

Consumer Complaint: There is no way that these companies investigated this student loan. The same information continues to report on my credit. I honestly don't believe I was late and I don't agree with the total balance that they are reporting on my credit. It continues to report several inaccuracies among the 3 credit reporting agencies from the last student loan company. How is that possible? For example, Each bureau reports that I was late on a different date Also, Hows it possible that youve reported me 90 days late with no late payments prior to that? Wasn't Navient sued by Cfpb before for not applying payments to consumers accounts correctly?

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: Navient is misapplying payments and claiming past due balances plus adding fees to the past due amount even though all of my payments have exceeded the minimums due and have been paid by the due date. Examples : XXXX Statement : Total Payment Due : XXXX by XX/XX/2021 XXXX Statement : Payments since last bill : XXXX ( paid XX/XX/XXXX ) ; Total payment due : XXXX by XX/XX/2021, including a past due amount of XXXX and a fee of XXXX XXXX Statement : Payments since last bill : XXXX ( actual payment XXXX on Mon, XX/XX/XXXX ) ; Total payment due : XXXX by XX/XX/2021, including no past due amount or fees XXXX Statement : Payments since last bill : XXXX ( paid XX/XX/XXXX ) ; Total payment due : XXXX by XX/XX/2021, including past due amount of XXXX and fees of XXXX. ( XXXX scheduled to be paid on XX/XX/XXXX ) This has been an ongoing issue with which I have spent hours on the phone with Navient trying to resolve. The last representative I spoke with understood the issue, empathized with it and raised an internal audit request. All other conversations have been met with defensiveness and excuses.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I have contacted navient regarding overpayments on private loans, the most recent onXX/XX/2021. An overpayment of {$0.00} was paid on an account, and adjustment made by navient, which increased the balance of the loan, rather than refunding the amount to myself or applying the overpayment to another loan. At the rate of about XXXX XXXX borrowers, these adjustments, applied to every borrower, means navient is making illegal adjustments to loans enabling them to keep MILLIONS in overpayment " adjustments ''. A previous overpayment ofXX/XX/2021 was similarly treated. I've reached out to navient several times and have two cases open asking repeatedly for documents addressing the treatment of overpayments, as well as capitalized interest, which has not been applied with clarity over the lifetime of my student loans, and receive little feedback or help.
