Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from Naviant saying my account was past due. I had been enrolled in an income based repayment for several months prior with my private loan and payments were set to come out automatically. On the call the person explained that only a partial payment came out and that is need to make a payment of {$67.00} to bring the account current. I made the payment and set up automatic payments there after to come out on the XXXX of each month. I also received confirmation that payments were set moving forward. Several weeks passed and I started getting calls from Navient saying my account was past due. Each time I informed the representative that there was a payment scheduled, they said they saw it and then advised they would ensure I wasnt called again. I continued to receive calls on : XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXX My normal scheduled payment was made successfully on XX/XX/XXXX for {$260.00} as expected. On XX/XX/XXXX I received additional email communications from navient that I had a past due amount totaling {$84.00}, including late fees. Navient continues to charge me late fees and state that I have a past due account when I should be paid to date. Its clear the Navient can not fulfill their obligation to keep track of payments and I am requesting an escalation of the matter through the cfpb.

Consumer Complaint: Navient private student loans are income based driven loans. After my divorce, I submitted my documents to was then Sally Mae. Navient never acknowledged the divorce decree, which keep me as a financial hostage to them. Over the years I have written numerous letters to Navient regarding my financial status as well as my divorce decree. Navient private student loan services listed accounts on my credit report as being late more than 60 days which belongs to my daughter and ex-husband. Account has never been late. Daughter never disclosed to me anything beyond accounts in forbearance. Accounts has been in forbearance since the Covid pandemic. She is still unemployed. XXXX2 Change to all 3 credit reporting with XXXX credit scoreXXXX. On XXXX XXXX reported exceptional score of XXXX On XXXX, filed a dispute with Navient. On XXXX file a dispute with Attorney General office of CT XXXX, still waiting on that investigation as well. Score decreased. to fair XXXX, changes to score with XXXX. On XXXX, XXXX updated dispute with submitted documents. Also on the same date changes made with XXXX. XXXX deleted the accounts from credit files as of XXXX after their investigation of my dispute, however my credit score as of XXXX, has not been restored from fair to exceptional. which was my prior score before this issue with Navient inaccuracies. XXXX, Navient sent a letter to daughter stating that accounts were approved for forbearance from XXXX to XXXX. If account in forbearance, why are the showing as late more than 60 days/negative on my credit report. This should have never happened. Still waiting to hear response from Attorney General of CT as well as updated and restored corrected scores from all 3 credit bureaus. XXXX submitted additional documents to XXXX re : forbearance letter and dates. I have worked extremely hard to maintain and improved my credit score to exceptional status. This matter should be investigated and my scores for all 3 credit bureaus should be corrected and updated as well as restored to my exceptional status.. Navient 's negative reporting on my credit file should be deleted from XXXX and XXXX due to their error and unfair practices, not mine. Again, XXXX has already deleted Navient from my credit file

I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. Consumer Complaint: I was only informed about the change in servicing when Navient deducted almost {$2000.00} for a payment I thought was paused nationally. Now, I am not unable to upload application documents on Navient, and completely unable to log into XXXX. Phone calls are never answered, no call back. I need to submit application information for new payment terms and have no way to do so before additional funds exceeding 15 % of my discretionary income are taken from me, or I go into delinquency. Navient sold this debt to collect during a federal pause, and have now made it impossible for lenders to apply for affordable payments. This is such an abuse of the system and creates great harm to all borrowers.

Consumer Complaint: The loan servicer has not paused my payments/interest during the XXXXplus years in which the Presidents of the United States enacted payment pause of student loans during the COVID pandemic. During this time, Navient would guide me into forbearance and not pausing these loans, The Department of Education sent me an email ( that I have enclosed ) stating my loans should be paused until XXXX of this year by the President of the United States. However, Navient continues to call and email me about my payments during this time. The Department of Education sent me an email ( enclosed ) dated XX/XX/2022, stating payment pause was extended to XX/XX/2022. Navient emailed me ( enclosed ) on XX/XX/2022, stating forbearance was an option concerning my federal loans with them not mentioning these loans should have been paused since the first payment pause from the Trump Administration.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: I took out student loans at XXXX years old, having no clue what I was agreeing to. I didn't have parental support and was trying to put myself through college. I took out private loans, having no idea the ramifications and high interest rates. I took out approximately {$31000.00} in private loans and have been paying them for about 17 years. I was told today that I owe {$39000.00}. I have been put into several repayment plans that hurt me tremendously, but this should be absolutely illegal. I would like to have this looked at as I believe there is a legal issue here. If I purchased a car for {$31000.00}, it would be paid off in 5 years. How have I been paying for 17 years and I owe more now. I am struggling to make ends meet and have called them many times. They do not offer any viable options or advising. They give me two options that are both terrible and tell me there's nothing else they can or will do. I am desperate for help. I also have federal student loans in the amount of {$30000.00} that I have been paying on for 17 years as well and haven't even made a dent in, I just owe more now. This feels like complete robbery. How does anyone get ahead in life? I feel extremely wrongfully informed and taken advantage of by Navient.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I need help and am unable to obtain concrete and actional information from Studentaid.gov or my loan servicer, Navient. This is the information I need to know it is regarding the announcement here : https : //studentaid.gov/announcements-events/idr-account-adjustment Navient services the following types of loans for me : - FFELP Stafford Unsubsidized - FFELP Stafford Subsidized - FFELP Graduate Plus - Direct Graduate Plus - Direct Subsidized I am trying to understand : - Which of the above loan types are eligible for the direct consolidation referenced in the IDR Account Adjustment news release, such that if they are consolidated, I will not lose credit for the prior payments made on these loans, when it comes to the 20-year loan forgiveness schedule? Because the announcement references FFEL loans generally, I can not determine whether and which loans serviced by Navient qualify for consolidation into Direct loans, such that for purposes of loan forgiveness, I do not lose the number of historical qualifying payments. When I called Studentaid.gov, I was told to call Navient. I did. Navient told me to submit the question vie email. I did. Their response states, unhelpfully and confusingly, Your Navient held FFEL loans do not qualify ; however, you may consolidate through the Direct Consolidation Loan program to become eligible. I sent a request for clarification to Navient, but have not yet received a response. Given that failure to consolidate FFEL loans may result in my inability to take advantage of the benefits in the press release referenced above, and given that consolidation of the incorrect type of loans may result in my losing the number of prior qualifying payments ( 10 plus years of repayment in my situation ) for purposes of loan forgiveness, it is very important that I receive accurate information. It is a damned if you, damned if you do not situation created by not being able to obtain accurate and specific information. I want to consolidate my Navient serviced loans into direct loans, but only if the consolidation will not reset the number of qualifying payments for purposes of loan forgiveness to zero. I can not obtain clarifying information from either Studentaid.gov or Navient. Without clarifying information, I am not able to make an informed decision regarding whether to consolidate my loans, because I do not know if my loan types are eligible for the benefits referenced in the press release. Thank you. XXXX
