Consumer Complaint: I have been in repayment of my private student loan fine XX/XX/2006, during this time XXXX College, a college owned by XXXX colleges, never provided any assistance with promised job prospects. Since this time now I have lost all access to my transcripts, as well as that college being closed down due to misrepresentations about borrowers ' future job prospects. These have been confirmed in court and now the government has forgiven all federal loans. I am still in repayment for going to a school now that is closed, and my diploma is worthless. I have reached out to Navient about closed school discharges and they have told me they will do nothing to help me, and I am required to pay the remainder of my loans.

Consumer Complaint: I have never in my lifetime signed nor authorized for the over {$15000.00} amount of XXXX loans which I have been saddled with for over 15 yrs, which have ruined my credit, name and life since. I only applied and signed for XXXX! loans at XXXX XXXX for XXXX quarters when I attended their school for 6 months in 2007. I have submitted a XXXX XXXX claim and transcripts to the Dept of Education and I have yet to receive a final word on my defense of being deceived and duped by this school. I am sick and tired of being associated with debt I never used/nor received, apart from the {$5.00} XXXX that covered my classes & materials then. I will go take all involved parties and file suit in court unless this is erased from my credit and history.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted Navient and told them to stop automatic payments from my account. They continue to take money out of my account. I have a letter stating the stopped automatic payments and they still took money from me. I am in the process of applying for the loan forgiveness program. This has caused me major financial stress. I want the money back in my account that was taken.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, Navient called/contacted the phone number ( XXXX ) XXXX a total of six ( 6 ) times in one ( 1 ) day to collect a past-due debt. I am not 100 % familiar with the law, but to me, this seem absurd and like harassment. No other creditor I have ever borrowed from has ever contacted me more than 1 time per day to collect on a past-due debt.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried for months now, via disputes with credit bureaus, emails to Navient, and more... they have not only marked my payments as late for XXXX of the months since there has been a moratorium on student loan payments, interest, and collections due to covid but also tacked interest on to the account! I'm already on the winning end of a class action suit against them for their failure to provide viable repayment options before this, but now, I'd love to start a new one over this. My credit score is PERFECT with the exception of the lies these people refuse to correct.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I attended the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, MN before it and XXXX XXXX got into legal trouble with the State of Minnesota and stopped operating here. I attended XXXX for XXXX quarters after being told their XXXX XXXX XXXX was the same as a XXXX XXXX XXXX and was soon to be accredited. They were never accredited and my degree is not only impossible to complete, but not the product I was sold. Because of this, I stopped registering for classes at the school and requested information for the lender they had me borrow money for tuition from as they did not have agreements with any banks for student loans. They refused to provide information for paying the lender directly. So I told them I would wait for a bill when the first payment was missed and pay my lender directly, they would only let me pay in person or through their school portal. Long story short, I never received a bill from my lender. I do not believe there was ever a third party acting as the private loan lender, but it was a line of credit from the school. That is against the law as far as I know. My issue is that I was allowed, by the State of Minnesota, to take out federal education loans for this now defunct institution. I have repeatedly requested to be released from these loans and have been denied by XXXX and my servicer without reasoning for why they are assisting MSB in committing financial crimes against me. My servicer is Navient. It was previously XXXX XXXX, and before that, it was XXXX XXXX. The federal government should not be assisting a private company in committing financial crimes by demanding repayment for the costs of their criminal act.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB : I appreciate that an entity like yours exists to help protect citizens against large corporations and entities that oftentimes disregard the individual consumer. Navient is one such entity in my experience. Like many in this dire predicament, my student loan has ballooned to unmanageable levels with burdensome increases that effectively drown my future financial wellbeing. It's been like this for years, and during that time I have spoken often to Navient ( previously named Sallie Mae ) about options. During these conversations through the years, I was pushed, pointed and steered toward Forbearance rather than Income Based Repayment more often than not. Why? Because, simply put, Forbearance is very much to Navient 's advantage, while Income Based Repayment - also known as Income Driven Repayment or IDR - in stark contrast is to the consumer 's ( mine ), since IDR allows for a consumer to have their loan forgiven 20 years after enrolling in such a program if they keep up with minimum payments ( even if {$0.00}. ) Hence, Navient defaulted to promoting THEIR self-interest in the form of Forbearance without disclosing all options in full to me. This occurred for years and years.
