Consumer Complaint: I am interested in consolidating my FFELP student loans to take advantage of COVID relief and IDR Adjustment. My loan are currently in repaying under the IBR ( Income Based Repayment ) which is under the IDR plans. I have tried to contact both my of student loan servicers as well as the FSAIC ( Federal Student Aid Information Center ). I have been unable to get a definitive answer regarding my eligibility for the IDR adjustment to ensure that I will not lose the previous XXXX years of repayment that I have currently made. The articles I read said that I would need to consolidate into a Direct Loan before the IDR Adjustment which is estimated as XX/XX/2023. However, neither my servicers or the Department of Education are able to answer questions definitively regarding my ability to get credit for these previous payment towards forgiveness. Without knowing this, refinancing will cause me to lose the XXXX years of repayment. The student loan servicing and DOE information system is woefully unable to answer questions about their own programs and provide definitive answers to borrowers to better understand decisions that will cause significant harm to individuals if the wrong information is provided. I felt like I knew more about the IDR Adjustment than they did.

Consumer Complaint: I spoke with several representatives regarding a late payment of 90 days to my account. The first rep advised they would fix the late payment after a dispute letter was mailed in showing where it was reporting. 2nd rep provided the same details and info on consolidation. To remedy the issue with them I entered in a Deferment/Forbearance for my student loan. This is the same type of agreement this company, Navient was recently sued for and had judgement awarded, but these are the only options available. I mailed in the dispute letter, however, have not received any written communication yet, but spoke with them. They advised they are declining the retraction of the late payment after advising me they would update and change. They even advised consolidating the loans after the late payment was removed. I am confused why they would advise this, not honor it, and proceed to report the account in various ways on my credit reports. My concern is that as a consumer my rights are being violated by the account reporting differently with each major credit bureau. There are many inconsistencies with the account on each bureau including the addition of the late payment. The account shows closed with one bureau, open with another and recently reported as of XX/XX/22. As a consumer, my rights are clearly being violated. It is my right to have fair, accurate information reporting on my credit reports. The information Navient is reporting is inaccurate and has been causing harm to me for the past seven months. Please advise on next steps. I really need help resolving this matter. It is hindering me from moving into a place, purchasing a vehicle and so many other important things to survival. Thank you!

Consumer Complaint: I was granted a bankruptcy discharge, but Navient continues to collect. The student loan was not for tuition or books ( I had federal grants covering those amounts ) and I believe that excuses me from filing the adversary proceedings following discharge. I've gotten nowhere with Navient, the representatives I've spoken to have insisted that student loans are not discharged in bankruptcy. I then ask to be transferred to their legal department and they have said that it doesn't exist.

Consumer Complaint: I am 100 % certain I qualify for total discharge of my student loans with this agency. Regarding the Navient Multi-State Settlement. According to the attorneys general, the interest that accrued because of Navients forbearance steering practices was added to the borrowers loan balances, pushing borrowers further in debt. I obtained my loan of {$7500.00} XX/XX/XXXX, 14 years ago. I have always been placed into a forbearance. Now because of all the capitalized interest my balance is {$17000.00}. I meet all the forbearance eligibility criteria for federal loan forbearance steering. Now Navient has is refusing to acknowledge this or look into it and states as of XX/XX/XXXX I have to start paying back this loan.

Consumer Complaint: Only the holder of the original note can collect on the debt that exists on the instrument. If you did not sell this instrument I need you to produce it. If you did sell my instrument you should have contacted me to inform me prior to doing so. Your company is furnishing an account to my consumer report without my permission. I am requesting the original document and physical proof one exists that gives your company permission to furnish this account to my consumer report. This document must be a bilateral contract between your company and my self that gives your company permission to furnish this debt on my consumer report. You must prove that I am the obligated party for repayment to you or delete this account from my consumer report. Providing a statement that you have an agreement with another company and not me is not sufficient proof that I owe your company anything. Continuing to furnish this account to my consumer report without providing the requested information is FRAUD and a violation of my consumer rights and I will not hesitate to bring legal action against you.

Consumer Complaint: I took out the loan through Sallie Mae in XXXX for my daughter. Along the way, the loan moved to Navient. I was encouraged to place the loan in forbearance and this happened several times in the past XXXX years. My original loan amount was {$18000.00} and I am now being informed that I owe an {$30000.00}. I did not understand the implications of placing the loan in forbearance and was encouraged by the Navient team to do this. In addition, due to the accumulating interest, I have been unable to keep up with the payments and my co-signor has been receiving letters from Navient. Needless to say, I feel that this is an invasion of my privacy and very upsetting. I feel that I qualify for the Navient lawsuit and want to be included to receive a discharge of this amount owed.
