Consumer Complaint: I starting to receive numerous robocalls about a month ago on our home phone with caller ID showing Navient from an entity claiming to be a XXXX XXXX agency for Navient saying we owe on a student loan. They call XXXX or XXXX times a day between XXXX and XXXX pm. We have never taken out a student loan and our credit history is clean. I have picked up the call several times but only get a recording telling me to call back XXXX. I have NOT called this number. How can I get them to stop harassing me? Sent from my XXXX

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: For months, I've been paying my student loans via automatic payments from my bank. Apparently, the monthly payments on my account increased. I was unaware of the increase because Naviant had several bits of incorrect information to contact me, including email address and phone number. They even reported my birthday wrong, so I couldn't access the online portal for updated account information. Suddenly, I get a notice that I'm 90 days late. I call, and confirm with them they received my timely monthly payments, but it was during this call that I learned the payments went up and they didn't have my current contact or defining information, so I was never made aware of any increase, which caused late payments in their system. I immediately paid the overdue amounts, but their investigation didn't fix the issue, and they've reported my account 90 days late for XXXX and XXXX of 2022 which is not accurate. Their systems are responsible for this mess and they aren't correcting the situation and removing the negative information from my credit reports.

Consumer Complaint: Suddenly, I received an increased payment due notice of {$120.00} when it has been {$41.00} all along. No explanation was offered by Navient. I continued to remit timely monthly payments of {$41.00} while they continued to report missed payments to the Credit Bureaus and ruined my credit score. However, they cashed my checks and collected the payments. My agreement with them is was an IDR plan with monthly payments of {$41.00}. Simply put, that is what Navient and I agreed on ( our contract ). Suddenly, I am receiving a different monthly amount due. Please see attached letter to Navient regarding this.

Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I appreciate your effort in getting this matter resolved. Thank you. Please let me know if you need any other information from me to block this information from my credit report. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: I received another email by Navient on XX/XX/2022, after I made efforts with my loans actually, legally, in XXXX. " I am missing several payment credits '' for FEDERAL LOANS. I PAID IN FULL, loan XXXX in the amount of the total current balance due for XXXX. I am missing XXXX credit with Navient confirmation payment XXXX. I spoke with " XXXX '' at Navient XXXX XXXX department over two weeks ago to confirm the settlement. My account still shows I owe for all these payments. There should be no balance or default status in my Navient web account, Signature Student Loan XXXX, XXXX, or XXXX. Navient gave my forgiveness for loan. Please see the attached Navient email, speaking the untruths about my false neglect. Please see attached file from XXXX XXXX of settlement. I paid the private loans in XX/XX/2022 to get the " default '' status off my credit report. So I paid on private loans in XX/XX/2022.

Consumer Complaint: Navient was sued by XXXX XXXX XXXX across the nation and they stated they would cancel the debt of the loans that had defaulted based on certain criteria laid out in the finalized agreement with the court. I received a response from Navient that unfortunately while I met all the criteria for student loan cancellation, my loans were not on the list of for profit universities through my CFPB complaint. The CFPB closed the case. However I stated I fall under Category 3 Non traditional Private loans below : Category 3 Criteria : Non-traditional Any non-traditional private education loan with an outstanding balance and in Past Due Status as of the Debt Relief Forgiveness Date disbursed by SLM XXXX lenders, subsidiaries, predecessors, successors, and/or affiliates after 2002. Non-traditional as used herein means a private education loan disbursed ( 1 ) to a borrower with a XXXX score below 670 at origination to attend a private for-profit educational institution; or ( 2 ) to a borrower with a XXXX score below 640 at origination to attend a public or a private not-for-profit educational institution. Please see page 42 on the consent order that Navient signed under Category XXXX Criteria for non traditional private educational loans. Navient has done nothing to cancel my defaulted loans, and refuse to cooperate and instead believe I do not qualify while simultaneously acknowledging that the loans have been past due and delinquent for years and say they do not understand because when I forwarded them the signed agreement the representatives believe I should have the loans cancelled. I do qualify for the debt cancellation for every tuition answer loan that was taken out. I under the Category 3 Criteria non traditional private educational loans. I had a XXXX score under 640, tuition answer loan XXXX, to attend a not for profit educational institution. I asked Navient to respond to my request and they sent a letter that I attached below from XXXX XXXX an advocate for Navient. I requested to show proof that my XXXX score was above 640 at the time of origination and they stated they would research the information. However, since they already made this decision wouldn't they have proof that my XXXX score was above 640 considering they sent this letter stating I didn't qualify. The facts present that my XXXX score could not have been above 640 at time of origination because I had to have a cosigner. Navient is not cancelling the loans as they have stated they would do with the Multi State GA agreement. I qualify because my XXXX score was under 640 at time of origination, under the order of the court. I have attached all correspondence from Navient and myself. Also, I have attached the XXXX XXXX agreement. Please see page 42 under Category XXXX private loan cancellation.

Consumer Complaint: I am the cosigner for my daughter 's loan. Here are my issues : 1. In XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered on my credit report that she was behind on her payments. Navient never contacted me. I have been making monthly payments since then. 2. Every month with my payment I request relief, eg lower interest, forgiveness, etc. they always reply in the negative. 3. Between XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX through borrowing from family and tightening my belt, I was able to make a number of payments that totaled {$2600.00}, but almost all was applied to interest, not principal. 4. On XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX I sent them checks, but neither one has been cashed. I think this is yet another way to get additional interest. I am wondering if other people are having problems with Navient cashing their checks on time. They have been slow cashing checks on other occasions, but not this long. 5. When I talk to their representatives about any of these issue they are not helpful. I have also asked about the lawsuits against them to see if any would apply to her loans, especially since we lived in XXXX when she borrowed and I cosigned, and I have also asked if her military XXXX would qualify her for any assistance or relief. I am retired.

Consumer Complaint: I attended a for-profit school named XXXX XXXX XXXX part of the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Recently the CFPB won a lawsuit against Navient/Sallie Mae regarding the predatory private loans that the students attending my college were forced into signing. I was one of those members and had to endure Sallie Mae/Navient hounding me for 9 years. In XXXX, a mere year and a half before the settlement that CFPB won, I finally was able to convince XXXX XXXX to scoop up my private loan away from Navient and drastically reduce my interest rate. I paid Navient over {$10000.00} in interest and barely touched the principal amount because of how high it was. XXXX XXXX took on my loan in late XXXX and now everyone that continued to endure Navient until XXXX had their private loans taken care of and relieved. I am furious that it took 9 years for me to get away from this company, and now because I was not psychic and could not know that Navient would lose this lawsuit and compensate back those that they bullied, Im still paying off that predatory loan at a slightly nicer interest ratebut it still exists nonetheless. It absolutely needs to be amended that those that broke away from Sallie Mae should still have some kind of compensation for the amount that they paid or for what we had to endure. Thank you for your time. Feel free to contact me regarding the matter at your earliest convenience.

Consumer Complaint: As a long-time public servant, I was using the studentaid.gov website to apply for public service loan forgiveness. The website informed me that I had to consolidate my loans in order for them to qualify and they offered a tool to do this. I began the process on XX/XX/21 and selected Navient as the servicer of the new loan. I was told that Navient will follow up with me in the coming days to service the new loan. Navient followed up with an email titled " heres the information we discussed '' with additional information about the refinance on XX/XX/21. On XX/XX/21 Navient sent me another email titled " Important notice from Navient '' in which I was told " XXXX, congratulations! You are one of the select few to receive a refinance offer. This appeared to be the next step in the refinancing process I had already begun, so I followed the link and refinanced my loan. What I did not realize is that this was an entirely different refinance offer. To make matters worse, it permanently made my loans ineligible for public service loan forgiveness as well as making them ineligible for the federal student loan pause. After the refinancing was done, when I spoke with Navi about this they said that it was my fault and that the loan could not be converted back to the correct type of loan.
