Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Need information about your loan balance or loan terms
Consumer Complaint: Thank you for your letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, wherein you confirm my outstanding balance as requested. You have overlooked or ignored my request. I have made no inquiries, however, my notarized notice that was sent has gone unanswered. On the referenced matter, I would need your confirmation that you would accept full payment of the obligation from me in consideration of your delivery to me of the original instrument of indebtedness in its original form and produce all other requested documentation. NAVIENT has dishonored a notice that was sent regarding student loan # XXXX. The notice was sent on XX/XX/XXXX certified mail return receipt # XXXX and there has been no valid response, nor have I received the requested documentation. The servicer NAVIENT must produce ALL requested documentation. I will conclude that you are either unable or unwilling to comply. I will thereafter consider the matter between us to have been legally and financially settled if documentation is not received on or before XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I had a loan I used for school in XXXX for {$50000.00}. It was a sallie mae loan, which is now navient. My loan is now currently {$170.00}, which I can not afford. I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have a decent job but after rent, transportation, food, and inflation, I can not afford a XXXX per month. I was able to get on the rate reduction plan for 6 months, but the lowest they can get is {$1000.00} which Is still super high for me. I really can afford like {$900.00} per month. I was paying {$990.00} per month which was durable but it seems every time I do the rate reduction, it goes up. I really need to lower my payment

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX XXXX, I was unemployed and contacted Navient about solutions available to me, due to unemployment. I was on unemployment and receiving government benefits and told them I could provide proof if needed be. They kept telling me they had no programs available to me, even with me being on government assistance. In XXXX XXXX XXXX I received a call about my payment missing. I informed the agent that I was unemployed and receiving government benefits. She told me that if I could make a payment of {$170.00} that would cover XXXX and XXXX. She then informed that if I made an additional payment of {$86.00}, that would cover XXXX XXXX payment. I checked my account and luckily had received my tax refund check and made the payments. In XXXX XXXX XXXX, I started receiving calls from Navient saying I was behind again. I questioned how that could be, considering what the lady told me. I asked for them to go back and listen to the call to see what she told me. The calls continued into XXXX XXXX XXXX and every time I asked the customer service rep to verify what I was told, they told me they would put it in a request and then get back to me. I then told them I wanted to hear the XX/XX/XXXX call also. I told them if I heard it wrong, I would pay gladly pay them. I also asked about any programs, as I was just recently employed, but had not received a check and they told me they could lower my payments, if I agreed to another 10 years added to the loan. I declined. The calls came in once every 7-13 days and each time I asked for them to review the call and they told they would and would get back to me, but never did so. I submitted an online inquiry on XX/XX/, due to not getting a response from them. Before ever getting back to me they alerted the credit bureau of a delinquent account. They finally replied to me on XXXX XXXX XXXX This could have been solved before then, had their reps gotten back to me.

Consumer Complaint: Navient had XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX call me to collect an offer amount to close out my account. It was a total of XXXX and I paid it off on XX/XX/XXXX. I got an email stating I owed this again from XXXX XXXX XXXX. I paid it on Monday XX/XX/XXXX. Not realizing it was the same loan from Navient. So I was directed to call Navient to get this resolved. They asked for the reciepts. I emailed it to them and I still haven't heard from them. I called yesterday for the 3rd time to ask what is taking so lokng and XXXX said that they are backed up and there is no eta as to when this would be resolved. So now I have a maxed out credit card against my credit report for no reason. Clearly someone from Navient dropped the ball because XXXX shows my account closed with no issues. Thanks in advance for any help I can get on this matter. : )

Consumer Complaint: I have reached out numerous times asking why I am still obligated to pay a loan back from a school who had false advertising practices. I didn't even XXXX because the misinformation I was given. The cost of the private loans have been inflated so high that I haven't even touched the principal amount. My loans never made it to default or delinquent because I was pushed into multiple forbearances as my only option because I couldn't afford for my credit to take a bigger hit than it was. I have XXXX kids to support and paying almost $ XXXX for student loans that I can't do anything with because the school no longer exists is absurd. Since the federal govt already ruled to forgive student loans for all XXXX XXXX students, why should I still suffer by paying almost $ XXXX for nothing? I'm just trying to take care of my family and I can't even put medical bills first because of student loans.

Consumer Complaint: Navient has sent multiple letters stating the formal last date to work with them, but they continue to keep the loans active past the dates they provide. So theyve been providing false information that ultimately is leading to more late fees and interest building up. Additionally, theyve contacted people who I havent spoken to in decades and people Im only friends with on social media in order to contact me, which has been awkward and embarrassing to explain and left these people feeling harassed by a company they never gave permission to communicate with them.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: Navient Corporation, The purpose of this is to communicate the extreme financial hardship I endure over a XXXX XXXXXXXX timeline, as part of my student loan experience. What I had hoped for, was an associates degree in computer programming, but the outcome was the opposite. My loan originated on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$10000.00}, issued from Sallie Mae Corporation. The original federal loan allowed me to attend the former XXXX XXXX XXXX. Due to a lack of money for rent and food, I was only able to complete less than a year of school. I was forced to move back home, to work full time. Over the course of 19 years, my immediate family members were often helping me with my loan payments. I did not have any positive experiences repaying my loan. Deferred payments, harassing phone calls, late fees, forbearance and a non-existent income- based repayment plan were all very discouraging. Overall it didnt appear that anyone from the Navient Corporation had my best interest in mind. My loan history documentation will confirm the financial distress to which I am referring. By the end of XXXX, my loan balance was still XXXX. I was able to reach a settlement with Navient for XXXX with the help of a family member. The settlement date was XX/XX/XXXX. In total, I repaid Navient XXXX. Along with the above mentioned, my credit score was severely damaged and continues to be to this day. I reached out to Navient in XX/XX/XXXX, for discussion regarding the federal lawsuit against the corporation. The response I was given was, since my account was settled, they had nothing further to discuss. I have been a public service employee for XXXX years in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Ive been with my current employer for XXXX years. I can provide previous employment history upon request. The wages I earned did not provide me with enough money to support myself and repay my Navient loan. It is my understanding, that my employment history along with negative student loan experiences, would qualify for loan repayment in the full amount of {$27000.00}, as well as resolution to the above stated hardship. Thank you.
