Consumer Complaint: Navient is being held in a class action in multiple states for illegal practices. There have been lawsuits filed by several of the states allege that Navient broke a wide range of state and federal laws as a student loan servicer, including by pursuing a years-long scheme to steer borrowers into high-cost repayment options and away from income-driven repayment. I feel like I have been affected and apart of their illegal practices and something needs to be done for the people in Georgia to receive help.

Consumer Complaint: Navient is furnishing XXXX accounts on my consumer credit report that are being reported with another services. Therefore, Navient is reporting the same accounts twice and did not remove the reporting once sold to another servicer. Navient is direct violation of my consumer rights by furnishing inaccuracies on my consumer credit report according to the FCRA. There should be no Navient reporting accounts on my consumer credit report.

Consumer Complaint: Upon consulting with the XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX in reference to the student loans. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX told me on the phone ( and it reflected on their website ) that my loans are not presently in default though the Navient company insists that they are. A dispute was filed with the credit bureau XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX told me that they sided with Navient. Navient has an unfortunate and known history of not being trustworthy and XXXX XXXX has a bad habit of believing them over the consumer. Navient needs to stop insisting that they " are the Federal Government. '' XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX is the authority on the case AND is the Federal Government. Navient has demonstrated that they do have a credibility problem and can not be trusted.

Consumer Complaint: Applied for IDR plan by submitting application and income verification information on XX/XX/2023. Application was received by Navient on XX/XX/2023 but I have received no information on the status of this application or IDR plan request. Contacted Navient ( my loan servicer ) and was told this process typically takes two weeks. After I advised them that application has been sitting for nearly 6 weeks they told me they may give me an update on my application status on or about XX/XX/2023. During this time, accruing interest and, I believe my loans may be completely forgiven due to the fact that I've been repaying the loans consistently for over 20 years.

Consumer Complaint: My student loans should be marked as paid in full or paid as agreed. They are not. This is very frustrating because when they close my loans, they were supposed to have the correct remarks on the account and it incorrectly affected my credit because although the loans were on the account, the loans were not supposed to be in a negative state as they never were and they were always paid.

Consumer Complaint: Navient 's loan terms and conditions are unfair, usurious, and deceptive. They do not provide refinance, consolidation, or fixed rates to accommodate faster repayment of student loans. I am the co-signer on my spouse 's private student loans. 1-They have reported a collection on our credit when no communication was ever sent until the collection company XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NJ XXXX. XXXX reached out. The balance was paid immediately in full and they refused to remove the collection from the credit report. 2- We have other XXXX loans with Navient from XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX and all are set up to be paid automatically from our bank accounts. We have been paying Navient for the last 9 years or more. Currently paying {$530.00} at 14.50 % variable rate where {$480.00} is applied to interest and {$43.00} to principal. The other payment paid automatically is for {$1100.00} where {$1100.00} is applied to interest and only {$61.00} to principal. The repayment of these loans would end in XXXX way beyond our retirement age. The loan payments that are eaten up by the high interest applied with little to the principal don't align with other student loans taken from other companies. We have managed to pay off a XXXX loan and nearing the end of XXXX XXXX student loan as well.

I reached out to Navient customer service and explained to the representative that I was currently out of work and receiving unemployment benefits. They were unwillingly ready to work with me as far as postponing payments. They made me write a letter and submit proof that I was not making any money except my company was only paying me XXXX hours of pay, which was less than {$1000.00} a month. It was a complete disaster and they threatened to send me to collections.

Consumer Complaint: The federal pause on student loans was set to expire at the end of XX/XX/XXXX with payments resuming on XX/XX/XXXX. With this deadline looming, I went to StudentAid.gov and completed my application for the new SAVE program, which would allow me to redetermine my income-based repayment program and be given a new payment plan for my student loans. I provided all of the required documents and requested information per the application in the middle of XXXX. My one student loan company, XXXX, was very helpful and communicative throughout the process. My other student loan company, Navient, was not helpful, not communicative, and to this day, hence my complaint with you, has been harassing me with phone calls up to 7 times a day for a payment. They have yet to process my application for the SAVE program, they have not given me a timeline for the additional documentation that they asked for and I provided, and they began billing me for the monthly payment of almost {$700.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, despite the fact that payments were not due to begin until XX/XX/XXXX. All of my loans are federal loans. None of them are private loans. Throughout the federal student loan pause, Navient made me complete a redetermination of my loans every year. Even though according to Student Aid.gov, I was not required to complete that redetermination until sometime in XXXX. Prior to my graduate loans being sold to XXXX, they were with XXXX XXXX, and I did not have to complete a redetermination of my loans with them during the federal student loan pause. Navient continues to skirt the law, harass me with phone calls, demand payment on a loan that has historically not had a payment due on it in over 3 years ( I have documentation of no payment being due ), and will drag out the redetermination process for up to 6 months. I am now at a loss of what to do to get Navient to process my SAVE application. I do not know why this particular student loan company is so hard to work with, especially if they want to help people pay back their student loans. I am not one of the lucky ones who received student loan forgiveness and I likely never will, but it should not be this difficult to work with a company to redetermine my loans on a year-to-year basis. I should also not be getting multiple phone calls each day demanding a payment totaling over {$2000.00} when they illegally started requesting payments two months earlier than the government allowed student loan companies to begin billing us. Please help me get Navient to process my SAVE application and complete my IBR payment plan request. Better yet, get them shut down for deceptive practices and all borrowers who have loans with Navient Loans forgiven.
