Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I have recently been working on repairing my credit and have a collection account on my credit report from National Credit Systems. The account was placed in collections with them on XX/XX/XXXX via XXXX XXXX XXXX. The amount of the alleged debt is {$1400.00} While I do n't agree with the amount, I do know that I left owing a low balance. I had sent a certified letter to have this debt verified and validated and it was received by all three major credit bureaus between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX but never received validation of the debt. I sent a settlement offer letter via certified mail and it was received by XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. As of today, I have not received a response. This derogatory mark is being reported to all three major credit bureaus and is hurting my credit score and is preventing me from securing an apartment for my children and myself. I am asking that this be researched and that they be removed from my credit report, do not contact me in regards to the debt, and that debt be considered as not owed by either former, current, of future parties as all of my attempts to resolve this issue have not been successful.

Consumer Complaint: National Credit Systems a collection company put a collection on my credit report. Disputed this because I was never made aware of debt by phone or mail. I called and spoke with someone in XXXX at the company and they told me they were no longer liable for the collection and it had been purchased by a lawyers office, I was told that the collection would be removed because they were longer liable. Collection is still listed on all my reports. I have since contacted the lawyers office they agreed not to send to bureaus payment agreement was made once they verified that all the information they reiceved fro m National Credit Systems was in valid.

Consumer Complaint: I settled the debt under the pretenses it would be rightfully removed from my credit report. I paid the settlement amount within a MONTH of it hitting my report, as agreed upon it was to be removed. Yet at this present time it is still reporting to all XXXX bureaus ( XXXX , XXXX & XXXX . This is in complete breach of what was agreed upon nearly 4 years ago. The conditions were as followed : I am willing to pay the SETTLED amount in FULL : Your company will delete all references to this account from my credit profile at the XXXX credit bureaus ( XXXX , XXXX , and XXXX ) : You will not list this debt as a " settled account : Your company will accept this payment to satisfy the debt in full. NONE OF THESE CONDITIONS WERE MET, accept you withdrawing my funds. I will continue to take action until retribution is made. I fulfilled my requirements per our agreement and you continue to cause substantial delays in my progression. The report needs to be deleted immediately.

Consumer Complaint: While I was a tenant at XXXX XXXX Apartments in XX/XX/XXXX, water came up through the drain of my kitchen sink and caused damage to the unit below me. I was not in my apartment when the incident took place and I had no knowledge of any plumbing issues that could cause water to come up through my drain. The XXXX XXXX feels as though I am liable for these damages. I disagree and have refused to pay despite multiple attempts to collect by XXXX XXXX. Ultimately I got my attorney involved and he reiterated that I would not be paying the alleged debt until a verdict was rending in favor of the XXXX XXXX proving that I owe the amount at issue. At that time XXXX XXXX indicated they were not intending to file a lawsuit. Instead they were going to going to continue to seek payment and ultimately jeopardize my credit. Earlier this year I was contacted by National Credit Systems , Inc. on behalf of the XXXX XXXX. Again, they were seeking to collect the alleged debt that had previously been dispute with the XXXX XXXX. I explained to the National Credit Systems representative that the amount had been disputed and I would not be paying. Last month, XX/XX/XXXX, National Credit Systems , Inc impacted my credit by reporting the alleged debt to the credit bureaus. Shortly thereafter I received a letter threatening me with a lawsuit and explaining my ability to get credit, favorable interest rates, or a home are now in jeopardy because they have reported the alleged debt to the bureaus. On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I reached out to National Credit Systems , Inc to inquiry how the alleged debt had been validated and what gave them the right to impact my impeccable credit score. I was told the XXXX XXXX had provide a copy of my rental agreement and an invoice for the repair costs and that was all they needed, as I had failed to provide any documentation to the contrary. I explained that I did not need to provide any additional documentation as my stance is supported by the rental agreement that was provided by XXXX XXXX. I asked where in the rental agreement it stated I was liable for unknown maintenance issues, which I was told my rental agreement states the tenant is liable for all water damages. I can assure you that the rental agreement does hold the tenant liable for all water damages. Rather, section XII ( F ) of the agreement indicates that the tenant as the duty to promptly notify the Landlord of the need for repairs. Since I had no knowledge of the maintenance issue, I had not duty to notify them. Nor could I have.

Consumer Complaint: I paid off the balance to National Credit Systems. When the item was placed on my credit in 2016, I was not aware of this debt or this collection agency. I told them this was unfair because I had not been contacted by them or even been given a chance to correct the issues before being put on my credit report. XXXX, the company representative stated that it would be removed from my report when paid in full. I paid the balance in full. However, it is still on my credit reports - all 3 bureaus.

Consumer Complaint: I was a cosigner for a tenant at XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX. When the tenant moved out there was a balance owed beyond the security deposit but I was never notified of this debt. I was only informed of this when I was declined credit and discovered that XXXX XXXX XXXX had sent the account to a National Credit Systems. As soon as I discovered that there was a problem I immediately paid the debt in full.
When I asked if XXXX XXXX XXXX had my information they informed me that they did. Because they took no steps to inform me of the debt nor give me any opportunity to resolve the charges before they sent the account to collections, I dont believe that this is fair. When I asked XXXX XXXX XXXX for help they responded, " Any disputes or discrepancies about this matter do need to be in the form of written communication. While I do understand that it is paid, unfortunately there is nothing I can do personally to get it removed from your credit. You can contact the collection agency and they will assist you or contact us and let us know if there are any steps we can take to help get this removed from your credit. However, from my experience, that is not a normal occurrence. ''Company Response:
