Consumer Complaint: We were leasing an apartment at XXXX XXXX XXXX. Upon move out we received our final statement via email and noticed a charge of {$300.00} for cable boxes they accused us of removing after we moved out. I responded to the email and explained our apartment never had cable boxes and we would not pay the {$300.00} for for them. This was all communicated through email. This was in XXXX. I never received any response from them after disputing this charge. I was waiting to hear back from them or receive any official bill in the mail ( I provided them with my new address, email and they had my phone number ). Fast forward to XXXX XXXX when I received a letter from National Credit Systems ( a collection agency ) saying I " have failed to make suitable arrangement concerning the referenced obligation of {$800.00}. '' I immediately called National Credit Systems and explained I had never even received a final bill from XXXX and we had never finished our conversation regarding the disputed amount of {$300.00}. I told National Credit Systems this was not a valid debt. We disputed all charges from you and we told them to send the debt back to XXXX. They sent a settlement amount back to XXXX for {$500.00}, which XXXX agreed to, and NCS still posted the debt to the credit bureaus. I will pay the {$500.00} and I would have paid this amount to XXXX immediatly if they would have continued to work with me. Now I have a negative collection account on my credit and the National Credit System will not send this account back to XXXX and delete this accusation on the credit report. I want to pay XXXX for the corrected amount, but XXXX will not take my payment and says I have to pay National Credit Systems. I do n't want to pay them because that makes it look like it was a valid debt. Again I reached out to the apartments trying to work out my closing bill. I never got any response from them or any final bill after discussion about the invalid {$300.00} charge. Instead I received a letter 5 months later from a collection agency saying they had posted the unpaid debt to my credit. I have checked to verify and it is currently on my credit report. I am in the process of buying a home and this mess could prevent me from financing for a new home. Please help!! I feel like both companies have been unprofessional and unreasonable. XXXX validated their charges were inaccurate by immediately correcting the amount down to {$500.00} once disputed.

Consumer Complaint: National Credit systems on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX removed the account from credit report and placed it back the same day. According to FCRA, they were supposed to notify me 5 days before placing it back, which they did n't. They violated FCRA. This should be removed from my credit report. I paid to have it removed after they did this, so I need my money refunded as well.

Consumer Complaint: I have a debt on my credit report from National credit systems for {$100.00}. I called onXX/XX/XXXX @ XXXX to negotiate a settlement on the account. The initial lady I spoke with said she would transfer to a rep. The lady by the name of XXXX was very rude. She violated my right under the FDCPA because she did n't read the XXXX to let me know she was attempting to collect a debt. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me that she was the supervisor and she was not going to transfer me to anyone else. I was trying to ask additional questions about my account and she hung up in my face while I was still speaking. I was not able to get my account resolved and my rights was violated! I called and left a message on her manager ( XXXX XXXX ) voice mail and I have n't heard anything back from him.

Subissue: Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged

Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/XXXX my husband XXXX XXXX received a phone call from XXXX XXXX ( XXXX or XXXX ) representing National Credit Systems Inc she called from an auto dialer with a XXXX area code. We rented an apartment XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX and gave them notice to vacate as we had a new home under construction that was finished in XXXX and our lease was scheduled to end XX/XX/XXXXXXXX we had a balance left over from XXXX rent and I tried to negotiate payments with the in house billing office for XXXX XXXX but they would not accept our terms. I wanted to make a {$50.00} a month payment because at that time that is all we could afford. Those collection efforts started in XXXX we could not reach a resolution so they forwarded our account to collections and we were not aware of this and the collection agency did not communicate with us in writing they called on XX/XX/XXXXdemanding us to make a payment and that if we did not pay full amount or high deposit to start payment arrangement that they would report the account to our credit. feeling pressured I offered to pay {$100.00} we I spoke to XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX and then told her would could possibly make another {$100.00} by XXXX XXXX. She said we needed to pay at least {$400.00} to get on a payment plan that would protect this account from reporting to our credit. I called again on XXXX XXXX to let XXXX XXXX know after reviewing our budget we could not afford to pay {$200.00} this month to this account and then she said that she could not protect this account from reporting to our credit and I told her well this is all we can afford right now as my husband was laid off in XXXX. I then went to the NCDOI website to get their license # and I found that National Credit systems incXXXX is not licensed to collect in the state of NC. which is illegal and now I need to go to my bank and have my checking account numbers because I am not paying this credit agency a dime. They are supposed to allow consumers 30 days to respond to their collection efforts and they were not even giving us the opportunity they went straight to threats of credit reporting. I believe her name is XXXX XXXX the collector in charge of my account so if you call speak to an operator who will direct you straight to her line. Unfortunately I am unable to find a physical address.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt was paid

Consumer Complaint: I moved out from my apartment in XXXX 2017. They said I paid them everything that I owed, and that I did not had a XXXX balance. I am extremely credit conscious, I pay my credit card off every month, I check my credit scores regularly and I have never missed a payment. Therefore, it was extremely shocking and frustrating that this collection agency, National Credit Systems Inc., placed a collection against me, that showed up on my credit report in XXXX 2017. I was never contacted by either the apartment company nor the collection agency to be informed that they still thought I owe them money. They never called ( or if they did they did not leave a single message ) nor did they send me anything in writing. I would have dealt with this before it went to collections if they had. As soon as I became aware of the debt, XXXX / XXXX /2017, I contacted the apartment company, XXXX at XXXX in Maryland, to confirm that I did not owe them anything, which they confirmed. Please see the attached move-out statement showing a XXXX balance. Then I contacted National Credit System Inc to find out what I can do to get this taken care of. The manager at the apartment company said she sent the XXXX balance sheet to her point of contact at the collection agency, but never heard back from them. Meanwhile, the representative that I have spoken with daily at the collection agency says they have not received anything from the apartment company. Both companies informed me that they are waiting for the other to reach out to them, yet neither company has done so. I also disputed this collection with the XXXX credit bureaus, but I am afraid if these two companies can not communicate, the collection agency will continue to show that I have an unpaid debt.

Consumer Complaint: On X/XX/2014 I signed a notice to vacate as well as the management of the apartment complex ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and they agreed to break my lease with no fee as letter states. I am in the process of fixing my credit for mortgage purposes and realized that I have a broken lease fee on all XXXX of my credit reports so of course I disputed it and it came back verified. I contacted the creditor ( National Credit Systems ). I called sometime in XX/XX/XXXX as king to speak to a supervisor and was transferred to XXXX . I advise him that I had proof that the complex agreed to break the lease with no penalty and he advised me to mail it in. I did just that and once it was delivered, I called XXXX back and was told that I violated my lease by giving my notice a couple weeks prior to the 60 days and they will continue to seek payment. Notice to vacate agreed and signed on : X/XX/2014 Dat of move out : X/XX/2014 I was on a section 8 program ( housing authority of XXXX county ) and they were paying the rent, so this notice to vacate had to go through may channels before being approved considering they were paying the full monthly rent at that time. XXXX XXXX was paid fo r XX/XX/XXXX , XX/XX/XXXX , XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX so I 'm not sure why there is a fee.

Subissue: Information belongs to someone else

Consumer Complaint: I 've contacted National Credit System for 3 months prior to a previous certified letter I 've sent out a month ago pertaining to a fraudulent account on my credit report by the name of National Credit System and XXXX have failed to assist me with this situation and have caused a great deal of problems to me and my life. Both companies are failing to respond to my letter and have n't sent me anything to show me that they took the proper steps to verify any documents or signatures pertaining to myself. This is an error and it is fraudulent which breaks many laws in the FCRA. I was never contacted at any time when these accounts was open so I do n't know why they continued to report and verify an account that is n't mine. I received several thereatning calls from the creditor and I do n't think thats professional and I do n't want this company to contact me anymore by phone or email.
