I completed the requirements for the bonus, which were " make at least {$500.00} in qualifying direct deposits within 90 days of account opening, '' but I have not received the bonus. The CSR who I contacted stated there was no bonus on my account but I signed up through the link and copied the terms and conditions. " make at least {$500.00} in qualifying direct deposits within 90 days of account opening. Qualifying direct deposits include recurring electronic deposits of payroll, pension or Social Security. Person-to-person, bank transfers or other electronic money transfers, such as those made through internet payment services, do not qualify. The bonus will be credited to your account within 90 days of all requirements being met. '' My direct deposit was a recurring electronic deposit from the government and was above {$500.00} cumulatively.

While this address fell victim to foreclosure by predatory lenders, M & T Bank was not the lender. This complaint is a general consumer complaint, separate but related.

He Ended up taking {$14000.00} to be exact he told me he took it awhile after the case had Closed XX/XX/XXXX. No he Didnt have a reason to use the money on me No He did not have a medical reason to use the money on me. The money was court ordered to be deposited into an interest account with an Officer of M & T Bank so by time I turned 18 I was suppose to Receive that Amount. I Turned 18 ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I Called M & T Bank that same day Gave them the 9 digit Routing number on the bottom of the check I Also gave them the 10 Digit account number. They searched them and said that there was never no account in my Name they proceeded to ask me for my social I Gave it to them they told me again there was no name in the System under the Name of XXXX XXXX in there system. I ended up calling M & T in XXXX NY. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to be exact to see what was going on because the check was suppose to be Deposited with an officer of the bank at that specific branch I Ended up speaking to the manager at that bank they were able to locate the account number and routing number under the name of XXXX XXXX . Then proceeded to tell me that the account wasnt mines and couldnt give me no more information and that the account of closed out in XXXX of XXXX then proceeded to hang up the phone. Im writing this because Ive been dealing with this for months since ( XX/XX/XXXX ) up until this present day Ive done everything I can Ive talking to my lawyer that represented me on this case he didnt know what to do I talked to other lawyers. Theyve never heard this before and could only assist legal advice Ive been calling all over to any and everyone I could reach out to help me Ive walked into M & T Personally many times they dont know what else to do besides send it up to the M & T legal department . Ive even went down to the court that settled this case they told me it was taken in error and to hold the bank accountable then they suggested me to contact you guys and Im really writing this because I want the money that was Wrongfully taken from me when I was younger Im only XXXX doing all this and Im really losing my mind trying to get my money back I would really appreciate the help

Consumer Complaint: My husband ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX ) and myself ( XXXX XXXX ) jointly own property located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NC XXXX. We participated in the federal forbearance program during Covid-19 hardships. Our forbearance was supposed to be closed and handled the first week of XXXX. The property is jointly owned, but financed in my husband 's name only because at the time we were advised we would benefit more from him being a first time homeowner and veteran. I had previously had a mortgage. When our current home was purchased, we owned our property ( jointly ) and used it as a down payment on our home. My husband died on XX/XX/2021 ( non-covid related ). I called M & T bank and let them know what had happened and tried to handle the forbearance and make the XXXX house payment. They have talked to me the entire time they have owned the mortgage, this time refused to talk to me at all. They informed me I needed to be made an administrator of the estate. I called XXXX County XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and they told me because of the limited assets and that my house was not considered an asset and automatically went to me, I was not needing to or required to open an Estate. When I relayed this to the bank, they refused to speak to me and forced me to open the Estate anyway. I went back, opened it when I did not need to, had to pay that fee, get bonded and insured, pay to run the add in the paper as well. All the using money, that M & T bank could have had sent to them. My appointment was set for XX/XX/2021. That was the first one I could get. I stayed in contact with M & T Bank. In the meantime they sent me a document with items from two different lists ( one from each list for me to send ). The document stating that was what I needed in order to be able to talk about the loan and end the forbearance. I sent a cover letter, marked the form and sent a Letter of Administration and a Death Certificate ( both of which are on the list to choose from ). I spoke with XXXX XXXX after it was received from M & T Bank and was told I would be resuming my payment in XXXX and I chose to do the balloon payment at the end. All of this time I had already been trying to pay. When I tried to pay in XXXX, I was again denied the ability to pay. I never received a letter or explanation of this change. I called Ms. XXXX and she said someone " higher '' up was trying to make me qualify for the mortgage and start over. She immediately put me back on forbearance to save my home since the bank would not let me pay my payments. I have not received any mail communications since. When I call the main number for a regular representative, once I give my information, I am put on hold and then disconnected. I reached out to Ms. XXXX personally today ( XXXX XXXX ) and left her a voicemail. So far, she seems to really care about my situation. I do not know what to do at this point. This is the 3rd bank to own my mortgage. XXXX with FHA insurance was our original financer. Then XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX held us briefly and now M & T has been our mortgage provider for years. I feel like my bank is trying to foreclose on me when I have the money to pay the payments behind my back. NC estates state they are not abiding by NC law and from what I am researching they are not abiding by foreclosure rules either. I was already a joint property holder. Taxes even come jointly. According to XXXX XXXX XXXX the house automatically went to me. All I wanted to do was pay my house payment. Please help.

Consumer Complaint: Someone did a mobile deposit of XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX into my and my sons joint checking account. My son called bank to inform them this was not right. The check got returned due to being drawn on a fictitious account. In the meantime we got charged XXXX fee for depositing a bad check that neither one of us did. Now his account is frozen. They will not give me the # of the mobile phone that did this nor the IP address it was done from, They will not refund the XXXX. The check was made payable to my son from some lady in XXXX NM, Check was not endorsed by my son, check was signed with a different name than whats on the account. I tried to contact this lady, but did not have any success with her home or work numbers I located online. I feel this is wrong to charge my account a fee for a scam check that was not deposited by myself, my son or anyone we know. They will not give me the information of where this deposit initiated from. How unfair for an honest person to be treated like a scammer and a liar. If you should need copy of this scam check or any other information please reach out to me. I have contacted local branch, they said they would get back to me and never did. I then called the XXXX # and still could not get any answers.

Consumer Complaint: A couple of months ago we applied for a refinance through a loan company. Everything went through as expected until we were told they saw we had a HELOC attached to our home. We were confused as we were not aware we had a HELOC attached to our personal home. We do, in fact, have a HELOC but it was taken out years ago from a bank that was purchased by M & T. That HELOC was taken out against our corporation at the time, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX That HELOC was to have been attached to a corporation at the time. Unbeknownst to us, M & T attached that HELOC to our home and never notified us. No documentation was ever received stating they did so. Therefore, the loan company needed documentation from us stating the HELOC was paid in a timely basis and we provided that to them. However, when the loan company contacted M & T for signed authorization from them stating they are ok with staying in second lien position, M & T could not verify or confirm that we have a HELOC with them. They told the loan company we do not exist in their system and can not provide any information on our HELOC. Therefore, the loan company withdrew our loan and told us to try and figure out what is going on with M & T before reapplying. We then visited the branch near us and spoke to the Assistant Vice President. He tried to help, but could not get the HELOC department to work with him as they had no information. We then called the HELOC department numerous times to verify our information only to be told the following : you do not have a loan with us ; your loan was sold and we do not know who has it ; you have no record in our system ; we do not know who you are in our system ; we do not have any record of you paying monthly as you are not in our system. It appears we have been receiving statements for approximately 13 years from M & T and making timely monthly payments and they have no record of it. It has gotten to the point when we call we are placed on hold and they never get back on the phone to help us. One day we were on hold for over an hour when we decided to hang up. We do not know who else to turn to for assistance. We are at a standstill with M & T and can not go anywhere from here as they can not and will not help us. We are begging that someone please help us with this situation. We would like to know where the payments are being applied that are being made monthly. We also want this HELOC that is attached to our personal home removed as it has nothing to do with our personal loan. When this loan was taken out, it was taken out under a corporation we had at the time and not our personal home. We are desperate to have this matter rectified as the loan company withdrew our loan because of M & T and we can not go to another lender as M & T needs to correct their records. M & T has cost us a loan that would be saving us hundreds of dollars a month. Because of their negligence and carelessness we now have a situation they created that they refuse to help us with.

Consumer Complaint: I received correspondence from M & T Bank dated XX/XX/2021. In the letter, it mentions needing additional information in order to thoroughly research your credit bureau reporting dispute. I asked for documentary evidence for the M & T Bank account reporting on my consumer reports because there is a billing error. There appears to be a billing error on my consumer credit reports from M & T Bank. As such, I am requesting documentary evidence pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 44. Documentary evidence includes all documents, papers, correspondence, books of account, financial and corporate records. Books of account - Any journal, ledger, and supporting vouchers included in a system of accounts. Financial records are documents that provide evidence of or summarize business transactions. A well-organized set of financial records is an essential part of an accounting department. At the most detailed level, financial records can include invoices and receipts. At a more aggregated level, financial records include subsidiary ledgers, the general ledger, and the trial balance. At the most aggregated level, they include the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. Generally accepted accounting principles ( GAAP ) refer to a common set of accounting principles, standards, and procedures issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board ( FASB ). Public companies in the U.S. must follow GAAP when their accountants compile their financial statements. Since M & T Bank is publicly traded, its financial statements must adhere to rules established by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ).
