I know that XXXX has released the money but M & T is investigating like some kind of fraud has happened. Besides that $ XXXX I had just shy of {$10000.00} in that account and now the checks that I wrote to pay bills are bouncing which is going to ruin my good credit. I tried talking with their people doing the investigating but they refused my phone call

Consumer Complaint: I am a XXXX XXXX whose home was destroyed in Hurricane Ian & my XXXX is a XXXX. 14 days after the hurricane, our mortgage was bought out or transferred to M & T Bank. Ever since then, we have had nothing but issues with this mortgage company. Every time you call their loss draft dept, you get a different answer. Some of their agents are not trained right. It's been almost a year since hurricane Ian & we have completed extensive repairs to our home so we can move back in. Our home is approx 90 % done right now, however M & T Bank claims it's only 50 % done ( per their inspector ). Because of their inspectors report, they will not release any more insurance money to us. However, their inspectors have only done " remote '' inspections & have never been to our home. Last week I requested an in-person inspection be done and M & T bank cancelled my inspection request. Now they claim they need another " scope of work '' from my insurance co XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) which went out of business in the state of FL. So now I have forced placed insurance thru M & T Bank but their agents don't seem to know that. One customer service agent tried calling my old insurance company, even after I told her I had forced placed insurance thru M & T Bank. M & T Bank seems to make every excuse so they can keep the insurance money as long as they can. I'm sure they " make money '' off of it.

Consumer Complaint: I am filing a complaint concerning my local bank bureau. I went to with drawl money out of my checking account on the date as follows XXXX. I waited in the lobby for someone to assist me. When the lady to come out to assist me with my bank with drawl I asked to have XXXX dollars taking out of my account. The lady was very ignorant to me and told me that the money in my account could be fraudulent activity. I assured her that the large sum of money in my account was from my income tax. She went back into the back without letting me know and froze my account. I am now seeing on my online checking account that I'm in the negative due to them freezing my account. I would like something resolved from this issue to prevent anybody else going through this. Also, hearing a bank teller say " I have kids and I dont recieve a XXXX dollar check ''. First off where does someone have the right to even say that.

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern : After I made the decision to use my rights under FCRA, I was looking to challenge any inaccurate information in my credit reports. I know that you cant just decide which rules apply to your organization, so I won't let anyone report any false claims. It's important to make sure all of your claims are accurate and reported in the correct format- this is required by law ( FCRA ) as well as XXXX XXXX standards. For any negative account, I demand documentation/proof proving why your company considers it delinquent or derogatory. Consumer Complaint: Recieved within a week two debit cards from M & T bank notifying me of my new M & T debit cards and checking accounts. I contacted M & T, They noted they had caught these accounts and they sent me a follow up letter urging me to contact you and local police. Consumer Complaint: I am the XXXX of a nonprofit organization in Massachusetts called the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Beginning last XXXX, just before M & T Bank acquired People 's United Bank, we began having fraudulent ACH transfers steal funds from our checking account. By the time we realized this was happening, M & T owned People 's United. I went to a local branch in XXXX, Massachusetts and filed a claim. Over the next XXXX months, we closed and opened XXXX checking accounts as the fraud continued. M & T was very slow to give us our money back and in XXXX of this year I filed a claim with CFPB. M & T then returned {$20000.00} to our account. Our accountant worked for months to rectify the money stolen and the money returned by M & T. On XX/XX/XXXX I wrote to the branch manager from XXXX, XXXX XXXX now moved to M & T in XXXX, Massachusetts, about how to proceed to rectify the difference between what our account says the bank still owes us and what they had given previously. I got no response to XXXX emails so I called and was told she wasn't available ever. On XX/XX/XXXX I emailed the president of M & T Bank, XXXX XXXX, to ask for help straightening out the discrepancy. I have not received a reply to my email. Our accountant says we are still owed {$5400.00}. We are a small, spiritual organization with a small budget and we can not afford a loss like this when we did nothing wrong.

Consumer Complaint: Peoples United Bank ( Peoples ) was the originator of my mortgage loan, and since the origination in XX/XX/XXXX, my XXXX has maintained the same master insurance coverage. At the time of the origination, People 's reviewed the XXXX XXXX insurance coverage and was satisfied. Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes ( CGS ), specifically CGS 47-255 ( a ), any XXXX master policy in Connecitcut must cover all betterments and improvements installed by unit owners, unless a certain exceptions apply. The XXXX XXXX insurance agent has also issued a walls in letter stating that the master policy covers the buildings and units to their original specifications as well as any additional installations. I had no incidents for the two years when the mortgage was held by People 's. M & T Bank ( M & T ) took over People 's in XXXX, and send me a notice regarding insurance, and I personally submitted a copy of my XXXX XXXX master policy at a local M & T branch. Over a year later in XX/XX/XXXX, I received another letter from M & T, mistakenly claiming that my XXXX master policy did not contain walls in coverage and advising me to purchase additional insurance. I purchased an XXXX unit owner insurance at the behest of M & T, wasting hundreds of dollars. I was even more surprised to receive further letters dated XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX demanding that I pay {$91.00} and {$2000.00}, respectively, for allegedly allowing my XXXX insurance to laspe during a historical period from XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX. Neither People 's nor M & T had never informed me that XXXX insurance was required until XX/XX/XXXX. First, as explained above, my XXXX master policy pursuant to Connecticut state laws and in fact does include walls in coverage. Second, even if Peoples had erred in the origination and my XXXX master policy in fact had not included walls in coverage, M & T, as successor to Peoples, should bear the cost of Peoples failure in due diligence. There is no basis in law or equity for a bank to demand its customers pay for the banks own mistakes. Third, pursuant to 12 CFR Part 1024, mortgage servicer may only bill mortgagors for a bona fide and reasonable charge in connection with force-placed insurance. A bona fide and reasonable charge is a charge for a service actually performed that bears a reasonable relationship to the servicer 's cost of providing the service. M & T 's demand for over {$2100.00} for a condominium owner 's insurance, covering a period of less than a year and duplicating coverage already provided by a master policy, exceeds the market rate for such insurance by no less than tenfold, amounting to over {$7.00} per day, and is the polar opposite of bona fide and reasonable. Fourth, if my XXXX XXXX master policy had not included 'walls in " coverage, M & T should have promptly notified me of this fact in XXXX, giving me a reasonable opportunity to address the problem. Waiting over a year to provide notification about an alleged historical problem, at a point when it is impossible for a customer to obtain retroactive insurance coverage at a reasonable price, combined with an arbitrary charge that is completely out of proportion with market price is akin to extortion and reeks of racketeering. Due to the above reasons, I believe M & T 's actions are outrageous, illegal, deceptive and extortionary. I urge CFPB to protect consumers ' interests by launching an investigation into M & T 's busines practices after its merger with People 's.

On XX/XX/XXXX, I received paperwork showing that {$20000.00} was moved out of my account. I believe this whole thing was under-handed. This entire situation was not right and I want all of my money back!
