The deal was lousy, a 15 year loan and that would be fraud. M & T took advantage of my sick and XXXX husband ( XXXX years old ). He is in poor health, has a terminal illness, XXXX besides other ailments. Please give him a call at your earliest convenience at XXXX. Initially the bank gave me a provisional credit ; however, on XXXX XXXX, XXXX they reversed the credit. I was supplied with the name of the person who made these charges and immediately filed a police report, and supplied M & T Bank with the protection from abuse order filed on XXXX XXXX, XXXX against the individual and the police report number. M & T will not let me speak to the someone in the fraud department, nor will they refund my money.

Consumer Complaint: I reported a charge to my account that I did n't recognize. I reported this to M & T Bank. I received a provisional credit and a case number. Then I received a form asking for more information which I filled out and returned. I did n't hear anything for a while and then the credit was removed from my account and a couple days later I received a letter saying that the case was closed. I called to find out why, and spent over 20 minutes on the phone. I was told that the card was swiped and there was nothing I could do about it. I emailed from my account page and was told that the investigators never received the letter requesting more details. Eventually I was told to go in to a branch and fill out a form. I did so. Again I inquired about the status because it seemed to take a very long time, and I was told that the second letter was received, but the bank did nothing with it because they had already previously closed the case. So I asked for the case to be reopened, and was told that there was no evidence suggesting fraudulent activity so my claim is denied. This has taken 3 months and wasted a lot of my time and I do n't believe M & T has done anything to investigate this. The transaction took place when I was at work and I could not have been at the XXXX subway spending {$68.00}. Furthermore, I 've only ever been on the XXXX subway once and that was XX/XX/2015.

Consumer Complaint: Back at the time that XXXX sold our mortgage to M & T Bank, we have had nothing but problems. On XXXX XXXX, 2015, I received a letter from them that my mortgage was being raised by {$400.00} a month due to them not takinig care of the insurance the way they should. They received information 6 months before and put it in a file until they felt like it was time to review everything. I contacted them about this and there was nothing that they were willing to do in order to correct it. They said that it is policy and that we have to live with it. This put a financial strain on us anyway due to my partner 's health and my daughter who is in XXXX due to neglect in a group home that almost killed her. She has moved back home for us to take care of the rest of her life due to XXXX XXXX and the XXXX. M & T bank has always been a huge disappointment and we had never even heard of them until our mortgage went to them without our knowledge. M & T has never been on the side of the consumer. It is all about the almighty buck to them. I would not recommend them to anyone ever.

They have NOT sent these documents out at all as we had the same address before she passed. Even if they sent this to her home address, it would have been forwarded to me. Consumer Complaint: I have a boat loan with M & T Bank. The required monthly payment is {$370.00}. My loan balance in XXXX XXXX was {$34000.00}. Since XXXX XXXX until XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I 've made {$3700.00} toward this loan. I usually make {$200.00} every two weeks. I have not checked on my loan account because I thought I have made monthly payment more than the requirement. Today I checked on my loan account online, and I found out my loan balance is still same as in XXXX XXXX, which is {$34000.00}. My loan balance has not gone down even a penny. All my payments made to this loan went straight to interest, not a penny was deducted toward my loan principle. I called and asked them why all my payments went to interest, nothing has gone to the principle. They told me all my payments of {$200.00} did n't meet the required minimum payment of {$370.00} ( even though my monthly payment was {$400.00} ), so all payments of {$200.00} went to interest.

Consumer Complaint: M & T Bank is giving us a difficult time in rolling my deceased mother 's IRA 's over into a beneficiary IRA at XXXX. It is one road block after another and continuous mistakes and negligence on their part. We completed the necessary forms over 1 month ago and M & T kicks it back to XXXX either saying there are no accounts ( when there are actually XXXX of them ) or they never received the forms ( we have email proof from the XXXX branch manager directly to the M & T Branch manager sending the forms ). They do n't return phone calls to us OR our branch manager at XXXX and we are at our wits end. They are making it impossible to move OUR money from M & T to XXXX. We are dealing with the branches of both banks located in XXXX, Maryland. Please ... we need help! We are being stonewalled and believe it is not just incompetence on M & T 's part, but their intent to hang on to our money as long as possible. I would never EVER keep one single XXXX at M & T.

Consumer Complaint: M & T Bank has consistently been harassing me for the last 4 months. They call and agressively indicate that i have no choice but to provide my information when I 've clearly inidcated I am who I am. The first 3 months they called almost 4 times daily. I was delinquent in my mortgage due to a documented illness and out of work for 6 months. They offered me a forbearance despite knowing that I was unemployed and that my STD benefits were often delayed due to a delay in my medical provider provided the necessary documentation. Once the forbearance went into effect, they abruptly cancelled it when I returned to work and without notification. When I indicated that the constant calling would not immediately resolve the issue they began calling more. Then I paid them over {$3600.00} and they still failed a foreclosure notice for the remaining {$2600.00} because I failed to continue to take their harassing calls. This situation is impacting my health and the ability to continue to get well because they refuse to deal with professionally, and did not empathize or offer a amicable temporary solution when they were well aware of my medical and finance situation. I want M & T to cease harassing me, threatening to foreclose on my property even after they have been paid and ask that my mortgage been sold to another more professional financial institute.

Our first tax bill was taken care of by the title company who collected that money at closing. Our bank paid the tax bill as well resulting in our escrow being negative balance. We callled immediately telling them what happened and that they need to get a refund from town. A week later they received the refund, but are still telling us that we owe them the money for the negative escrow. we are NOT paying this. it is completely unfair.
