Consumer Complaint: Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, My name is XXXX XXXX and I hope you are well. In the recent past, Ive made a few complaints to M & T Corporate regarding serious implications and accusations that were made about money laundering and fraud from my checking account from 3 different M & T locations. These false accusations resulted in my account being locked on two occasions. The first set of days took place for 3 days on XXXX day Friday, XX/XX/XXXX through XXXX day Monday, XX/XX/XXXX. They were questioning credits, from the Primary Credit Card holder, made to my account, from a credit card that I am authorized to use. The manager, then asked for a credit card statement to show proof of funds, which was provided by both myself and the Primary Credit Card holder in person on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX. It was there that we were met with the utmost disrespect and disregard in customer satisfaction, including Friday, XX/XX/XXXX. After 2 hours of performing their due diligence, on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, my account was finally unlocked, with no apology, whatsoever. Im not pleased with the outcome of M & T bank, since my complaint to Corporate. From my understanding, Corporates final letter stated that staff would receive coaching and training on how to deal with customers in the future. That, to me, is a slap on the wrist. Corporate did not resolve the fact that I went without funds for 3 days. M & T is defending the actions of their employees to unnecessarily and constantly target and wrongfully accuse me of fraudulent activity, where my banking account is concerned. Apart from that incident, an unnecessary due diligence was performed on my account, a month before, on my tax returns, XX/XX/XXXX. After it was proven that my personal tax returns were rightfully made out me, then I was able to resume and receive the services I initially asked for. The incident on this date was incorrect in Corporates final letter from M & T corporate to me, which tells me that my complaint was misread through their Corporate office. Again, what M & T has continued to do to me and my account is unacceptable. They refuse to take accountability for their lack of ethics, respect, and competence. To my understanding, once a customers account is wrongfully locked or did not receive notice of their account being locked, the Financial Obudsman Services enforces the banking institution to reimburse the customer, due to distress and inconvenience. In addition, on Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX, Ive experienced another inconvenience at M & Ts Central bank location, which is the only branch open on Saturdays. I went for withdrawal services, which they refused to render. The teller at Central branch asked me if Ive ever visited that branch before, because she, in particular, has never saw me there. I find her question/answer to be very ludicrous and asinine, especially when Central branch is the only branch open on Saturdays in XXXX. She has also mentioned the potential of fraud, which again, is undeniably false. The branches Ive visited for M & T are always suspecting and targeting me time after time after time, for whatever reasons that do not align with me. I found out later on XX/XX/XXXX, that my card was declined once again because my account was closed. I was left for a second time without access to my funds for an entire weekend. I, inconveniently, had to revisit Central branch on Monday, XX/XX/XXXX to re-open my account. I was given the runaround as to why funds were not available that day, which was total confusion, on their end. There were definitely funds in my account, more than what I was requesting. Finally, I simply asked to close my account, where I was able to withdraw all funds from my account. I really and clearly am not interested in banking with M & T anymore for these reasons. At this point, Im seeking compensation in the amount of {$12000.00} for inconvenience, distress, wrongful judgement and accusation and financial abuse for closing my account on two occasions without notifying me. Consumer Complaint: We were in the process of selling our home. On XX/XX/2023 we called the bank asking for proof that our forgivable loan was satisfied. We never recieved any documentation. Meanwhile we closed and the title company is still waiting for the satifaction for this sonymay loan. This should really have been sent to us over a year and a half ago. Last night I called to find out if the satisfaction was ever completed and I was told it never completed it was left open. I asked for this to be expidited by today and I still do not have the satisfaction from M & T bank. spoke to a supervisor who told me I still have to wait a couple of days. M and T bank has been giving us a hard time while they carried our mortgage and are still giving us a hard time getting the balnace of our escrow money from the title company while waiting for this satisfaction.

XXXX indicated he would research the issue and get back to me. On XX/XX/23 I again called the Bank requesting the same information and spoke with XXXX. She stated that since I did not open the account online she could not help me and I would need to go to a branch office. That same day I contacted a local branch office. Consumer Complaint: I received an offering the mail from M and T bank stating If I deposit {$10000.00} until XX/XX/2023 I would receive {$350.00}. I opened a " My choice premium checking account and deposited {$10000.00} on XX/XX/2023 in person with representative XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX NY XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX. XXXX said just make sure I keep the {$10000.00} until XX/XX/2023 to receive the promotional {$350.00}. He confirmed I met all the terms. I did in fact keep {$10000.00} in the account without any transactions whatsoever until XX/XX/2023 which is well past XX/XX/2023. I was told the {$350.00} would be deposited in my account. I never received it. I called XXXX left his messages and emails but he did not respond. I spoke with XXXX at M & T headquarters on XX/XX/2023. She said I met all the requirements and does not know why I didn't receive the {$350.00} promotion. She said she can not do anything else or help with the matter. I then spoke with XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2023. He said the promotion was not sent to my name. I told him it was sent to my name and I have the original promotion and read all the terms and conditions. The promo was sent to me but show me where in the terms and conditions it needs to be in my personal name. He refused to answer and said he " would not get into that '' I reiterated that I have the promotion in front of me there are 4 terms listed 1-4 on the back to let me know where it states what he is saying that the promotion needs to be sent to my personal name. Again he refused and also refused to honor the promotional terms. I explained that I fulfilled the terms and kept {$10000.00} in the account from XX/XX/2023 until XX/XX/2023 and that XXXX confirmed I met all the terms and should receive the {$350.00} as promised. That if they do not give it to me it's more then false advertisement it is theft. Unfortunately he continued to say he can not and will not do anything further regarding the matter without substantiating or indicating which term I have not met on their promotional flyer 's terms and conditions. M & T is deceiving the public, committing false advertisement and fraud.

Consumer Complaint: This is the third time I've had problems with this company trying to keep the money the state has given me to help me during these trying times. I have filed a complaint before which is the only reason they didn't steal all my money the first time, which by the way they still didn't apply the money how it was suppose to be applied. The money from the state is to pay my mortgage payments, they took half of it and applied it to my principal which isn't what it was put there for. It was to pay 12 months of my mortgage but they only applied it to six and then took the other six months and applied it to the principle. Now the state has sent more money to help and the mortgage company is trying to keep this money. I really need this help. I hate to see the people who don't know how to stand up being taken advantage of. What they are doing is wrong. This money is to help people like me who need the help, not for the mortgage company to try and pocket. They make people jump through hoops to get the money applied to where it is suppose to be applied hoping we fall short so they can keep it. The money was sent to help me and pay my mortgage. The money is sent to take care of my mortgage payments, not for them to apply to my principal which does not help me because it's a 30 year loan. It's to help me now, not for the mortgage company to decide to keep it

Consumer Complaint: I have been a long-time standing customer with M & T Bank and it wasn't until 2023 that I have faced immense financial hardship due to this financial institutions inability to protect my information and my funds. I have had several insufficient funds and related fees applied to my account without my knowledge and lack of posting to my mobile banking. I've continuously reached out to obtain relief and I only receive rude/short responses leaving me helpless and still without my money. I am in a constant negative because my request for overdraft protection never applied to my account. I even confided in a third-party debt consolidation company who equally withdrew more funds from my account and also advised I would not be getting those funds back ( which has since been resolved following submission of a previous complaint ). I am DROWNING here and am BEGGING for help. These financial institutions are killing me and my money is all going to fees and it's NOT RIGHT! I make good money and have been trying to get back on track after a ripple effect of non-stop loss of my hard-earned funds. I have a family- this is NOT ok. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/24 a check in the amount of {$1200.00} was debited from my joint M & T checking account incorrectly- M & T bank entered the wrong account number to draw the funds from by one digit- the check should have been debited from an entirely different account, owned by a different party, at an entirely different bank! I immediately called M & T who acknowledged the error, & said the funds would be put back into my account within XXXX hours. XXXX hours later- account still shows check being debited & available balance reflects loss. I called M & T again, & this time they told me it could take up to 3 business days, & were unable to provide me with any confirmation that the funds would in fact be put back into my account. Being the end of the month with my own bills due- and the large amount of the check- I'm very upset with the handling of this, I feel as if M & T Bank basically stole {$1200.00} from me. At the very least the bank should deposit funds in that amount to cover the wrongly cashed check. As of this writing the funds are still missing from my account, the check is showing as debited, & I do not know when, or for sure, the error will be corrected.

They told me that the XXXX car I got from them which was A XXXX XXXX, to bring it back in because it had a recall on it, so I was supposed to be trading it in for a Better vehicle which was the XXXX XXXX that I have now, but the problem is the didn't disclose certain rights I have as a consumer, an they didn't add my trade -in of my other vehicle the XXXX XXXX my XXXX XXXX an I had to give up some money when I had a trade in of less than a year, I shouldn't had to pay anything, they also informed me that my insurance would be included in the finance charge, but I pay insurance separately... I pay XXXX a month for this vehicle which way to expensive fur that vehicle an it was more than a XXXX owner, I was told it was only XXXX owner before me, u never received a XXXX XXXX the dealership, an they let the warranty my vehicle expire, because they didn't wan na honor fixing an issues on my car when they have a shop that fix cars there, an I got it from there, they keep telling me a got a Auto.loan, I never received a Auto loan, it was a INSTALLMENT AGREEMENT, NOT A LOAN, because the Dealership got paid already, an I was told a bunch of lies, they told me that my payment every month will go by my income, an an according to how much i pay in rent as well is all in consideration, I'm paying more for the vehicle than I am in Rent, an my Insurance is also Sky high at XXXX a month. An my rent is Only {$350.00} a month ..this is becoming overwhelming for me because I was sold a car under false malfeasance, an I made repairs to this vehicle that should have been done under the warranty of the vehicle, I call M @ XXXX Bank XXXX they're the loan holders to ask for a hardship an to send me my loan installment agreement to go over myself I got neither from them, I ask to refinance my vehicle, they didn't XXXX me that when I was told by the dealership that M @ XXXX bank was going to Lower my Rates after 1 years, I had the vehicle XXXX years an the rates are still the same an going up, especially the interest rate is out the roof, XXXX is is my second vehicle from them an the XXXX was no good, but I made modifications to this vehicle because I need for work, it's hard for me to maintain the vehicle because the M @ XXXX Bank won't help me lower my payments as agreed, an the dealership won't take my calls because they know they're doing shady business to consumers because they Kno we don't know our consumer rights, the way we supposed to, but I'm starting to.learn mines an I see numerous errors, I'm getting harassing debt collector calls from M @ XXXX Bank XXXX XXXX late payment when i informed them of the identity theft, an then issues with them not honoring their agreement of lowering my payments to a reasonable amount so that i can keep my vehicle, I can't afford to buy anything else at this time, I have NOMORE money it's wrap up in these unrealistic payments every month, i paid it thinking they were going to reach out to me when my year was up, so that I can continue to make on time payments to keep my credit correct, but they didn't honor it, it messed my credit up, I went from a XXXX to a XXXX due to their negligence an negative finance reporting, illegal consumer tactics an words they're using to persuade consumers their getting a deal when actually the consumer is getting more in debt, under false pretenses, an that's unlawful an wrong, I've been paying M @ T constantly fur XXXX an a half year 's untill i realized they wasn't helping me out with lowering my payments as agreed, this is like a con XXXX game they play an 90 % if the consumer doesn't realize it until its too late, XXXX a regular person, a natural person, I've been conned of out all my money by M @ XXXX Bank XXXX XXXX when i reach out to them in my time of hardship i was denied help, an i didn't receive my XXXX agreement in the Mail as of yet as the young lady promised I will receive it, but I'm still getting, harassing, menacing phone calls from M @ XXXX Bank XXXX XXXX fir payment, which that is unlawful as well, an against the consumer rights as well, by them nit sending me my loan installment, I which I have a right to look at, I haven't received that either, because their hiding something, or trying to cover up their mistakes, an this is a illegal that they're doing to me an other consumers who don't realize this is being done, all of these things are supposed to be in my installment agreement, an it's not, they added what they wanted to add or the away in order to fulfill their own pockets of payment, the dealership ROCKAWAY XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX i purchased the vehicle with a trade in vehicle which was never added to the purchasing of the vehicle I have now, an the dealership was adding mad inquiries from different banks on my credit report which is illegal too, because every INQUIRY is a TRANSACTION, so every time they did it, somebody got paid off of me, but I'm always getting denied for whatever it is that i need done to help me, that's very very wrong, how can they get paid am I get denied, but they're using my information to do so. Now they want me to pay all this money knowing I disclose the identity theft to them the data Breach situation, an the fact that they were supposed to honor the agreement an lower my payments according to me what I make none of this was done, they out orn price an split up the money between each other, or something going on... now I'm having a difficult time paying this off because of all this False malfeasance by both Companies M XXXX XXXX BANK XXXX XXXX XXXX DEALERSHIP IN XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ... Every time I call I get rejected or hung up on, what kind of businesses are these, this is not fair, I am a Natural person, a Regular person with a Family I must support as well as try to keep my vehicle, I put money into this vehicle when I wasn't supposed to, that what the warranty was for, they didn't honor that either telling me to go to the XXXX dealer, they can't help me but they sold me the car, the XXXX dealership didn't sell me the car, XXXX XXXX DEALERSHIP Did ... about as I realized what was going on, my warranty was expired, an I had to fix things with a guy I know because I can't afford the XXXX prices which is way to high for this year of a vehicle, it's XXXX that are XXXX an they Rates aren't as high as mines an I'm XXXX, this is Unfair Practicing their doing, scamming people out of their money, then take their vehicle from them down XXXX XXXX, an XXXX trying to.prevent that in my case, because i did alot of reaching out to them to help me with no success,. I would like to RESCIND ON THE LOAN INSTALLMENT, BECAUSE ITS UNDER FALSE MALFEASANCE, NUMEROUS CONSUMER VIOLATIONS, An being I had to come out of pocket, even though I had a warranty in place that wasn't honored, I had to spend alot of money for issues they were supposed to take care of not me, I didn't get a title to the car, nor did I receive a XXXX, Nor did I receive a copy of my actual agreement with M @ XXXX Bank, i just get no response or XXXX on hold for a long time then they hang up on me. That's Bad business, an I'm paying them every month for this type of service, they're supposed to be helping me, but they're helping each other, the Dealership helps M @ XXXX Bank, an they're both scamming me, an this is Totally illegal, there's no such thing as a AUTO LOAN, ITS ONLY AN INSTALLMENT AGREEMENT, but the keep telling me I got a LOAN, which I never received, a LOAN is FROM M @ XXXX Bank to me, not a Third party, so i actually didn't receive any loan, I'm just stuck with it, because of tricky words, an consumer fraud tactics to keep me stuck in this Loan installment which got my credit all messed up, an I had Great credit before I went to them for a vehicle an they hooked me up with this Bank. It's not fair to me, how am I supposed to survive the interest is out the roof with this Bank, an the Dealership knew this before getting me involved with them. Please can u help me, this is Unfair financial reporting an I would like my payments returned to me, I've sent them paperwork requesting what I want with no response, but debt XXXX from M @ T keep calling me, harassing menacing phone calls, threatening to REPOSSESSED MY VEHICLE WHICH IS ILLEGAL AS WELL.
