Consumer Complaint: I would like to file a complaint regarding M & T Bank of XXXX Texas. they claim I had a lapse in insurance for the property we had a loan with, this is not the case. I have complete documentation that there was no lapse in insurance. M & T Bank withdrew {$230.00} out of my escrow account to buy a temporary policy without my permission or letting me know, I received no policy number or information about the temporary insurance. I have no proof that they bought this un-needed policy that I did not need because my policy did not lapse. The money in the escrow account belongs to me it is not a slush fund for them to remove money without my permission I consider that theft. I have called my insurance company they have assured me my policy never lapsed, my insurance faxed, emailed and texts my policy information to M & T Bank. M & T Bank did not care and was taking the money anyway. I believe they have sloppy book keeping and I think a full audit should be performed to protect customers. I am sure I am not the only one with an issue. Thankyou for you attention in this matter

Consumer Complaint: I sent a complaint to M & T Bank and they did not respond to my question instead M & T Bank replied with useless documentation. I am requesting that M & T Bank : 1 ) Show me a financial transaction record of monies received from XXXX XXXX to pay-off my Hudson City Savings Bank mortgage XXXX. I need to verify if the amount that they received from XXXX XXXX to pay-off my mortgage. 2 ) Confirm that HCSB has no record of receiving any money from XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX NOTE is contingent on my receipt of a {$130000.00} loan from XXXX XXXX. If HCSB has no record of receiving the money than please let me know because according to the NOTE XXXX XXXX prepared HCSB was not the intended payee. XXXX XXXX claims that the contract is bound because the document is initialed. All I can say is that I would never initial the NOTE unless I received the check from XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX has no proof of paying anyone and there is no record of the mortgage being satisfied, no release of lien and no discharge of mortgage. In addition the XXXX XXXX insurance legal description is not any where near the deed location.

Consumer Complaint: M & T Bank serviced my home loan until I refinanced in XX/XX/XXXX. Closed escrow and signed documents on XX/XX/XXXX. Notified by title company that annual tax bill was included in closing costs and that M & T Bank would be sending me balance of escrow/impound account ( between $ XXXX {$1900.00} ). M & T Bank the paid the taxes 3 days later using escrow/impound funds, told me that I needed to contact my countys attorney authorities to initiate return of funds. To date I have not received return of escrow balance and conformed with tax authority that funds for tax payment was wired on XXXX almost 30 days after signing documents with title company. Customer service has been unhelpful and provides wrong and conflicting information.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a checking account on XX/XX/2020 with a balance of $ XXXX at the M & T Bank located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX , VA . When opening the account, I asked that the bank rep, XXXX order me an expedited debit card. She said she would. I went to the branch on the following Saturday, XX/XX/2020, to send a bank wire, and the branch manager flat out refused me this service, because she said my funds needed to be investigated because she did not believe I had conducted business as I told her, in order to receive the wired funds. She told me flat out that the whole thing was suspicious to her, and that she was going to place a hold on my account until further notice. I was insulted and left. I called the branch when I returned home, and the manager, XXXX told me that XXXX was not available for phone calls and could she help me with something. The branch closed at XXXX and I called the branch and spoke again with XXXX. XXXX had me on speaker phone, and I am certain that both she and XXXX were listening to what I had to say. I asked XXXX if my account being placed on hold was due to the branch managers personal discretion, or whether it was the banks security policy. She assured me it was the banks security and back office that had placed my account in a frozen state. XXXX called me on Monday, the XXXX of XXXX, to tell me that she had not yet received word about the investigation that was going on and that she was trying her best to expedite the process. I asked her at this time to verify that she had in fact ordered an expedited debit card for this account. She assured me she had. I called M & Ts customer service XXXX number today, XX/XX/2020, and asked the rep to verify that an expedited debit card had been ordered for my new account. The rep assured me that it had NOT been ordered, that it had been ordered regular delivery. The rep then phoned the branch and reported back to me that XXXX told him ( the rep ) that either she or XXXX would call me by Monday to let me know the results of their research. I know there are laws about unreasonable holds on consumers deposits, but I feel it is now time to file a complaint because not only did XXXX lie to me twice about ordering my debit card expedited, but this leads me to believe that she could be lying about other things as well, associated with my account opening. Furthermore, my M & T online banking shows an available balance of $ XXXX. Please get to the bottom of this. I felt personally insulted by the branch manager and XXXX lies, and wonder whether this is common practice in the banking industry to treat customers this way. Thank you. I might just address this matter with the media if I am not satisfied with the outcome.

Consumer Complaint: I have requested that Hudson City Savings Bank provide me a copy of the monies that were allegedly paid by XXXX XXXX in 2005 for my Hudson City Savings Bank mortgage so I can sell my house. It is by far and wide NOT acceptable practice to rely on pieces of paper filed by others claiming the mortgage was " Cancelled of Record '' without providing SATISFACTION of mortgage and RELEASE OF LIEN along with the required DISCHARGE OF MORTGAGE. I have been warned about being scammed and not getting what I am entitled. I am unable to sell my house because without the requested documentation. I can just take a mortgage stamped " CANCELLED OF RECORD '' and find a buyer to go by my house when there is not proof of title insurance and the sellers signed the Affidavit of title for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, N.J. when the correct address is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX N.J. XXXX has no record of getting the money from XXXX XXXX who no record of paying the money. I need to sell the house but the problem is just like many other people on XXXX XXXX there is a major XXXX SCAM going on right now go to the XXXX XXXX site and plug in my address using XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, N.J. XXXX and with will retrieve MIN XXXX Now plug in the NON EXISTENT address of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX N.J. XXXX you will come up with the MIN XXXX The big problem is they did this for the ENTIRE BLOCK. Please just let me know that you don't have these records because the mortgage was never issued. This happen all over on my block. We all know that it is just about impossible to find a buyer to plunk down {$500000.00} and tell them that you have no proof of the MORTGAGE BE SATISFIED and that you have no proof of THE LEIN BEING RELEASED and there is no proof of the DISCHARGE OF MORTGAGE and on top of that NO TITLE insurance. I am being subject to severe financial harm and anyone would agree please either get me the requested documentation of explain or explain that there was no documentation to give because there was no mortgage. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the Insurance department of M & T Bank servicing my mortgage via telephone directing them to not honor payment XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX because I was replacing the insurance with a different insurance company. I was told that the payment to the current insurance company " XXXX XXXX '' would be on hold until XXXX XXXX, XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I received my XXXX mortgage statement which shows a disbursement from the escrow account on XX/XX/XXXX for XXXX This amount is for the XXXX XXXX XXXX policy. On XX/XX/XXXX the bank also issued payment for the replacement policy from XXXX XXXX for {$1500.00}, On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted the bank XXXX Department and directed them to recover the funds dispersed to XXXX XXXX in error. I spoke with a representative who told me I must contact XXXX XXXX XXXX company and cancel the policy for and request a refund to my escrow account. I told the gentleman on the phone, this was unacceptable and they needed to recover the unauthorized payment from the account. After his continued attempts to argue with me I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. I was purportedly transferred to a XXXX XXXX who attempted to give me the same line that they could not cancel my insurance, I was required to do it. I informed him the bank was given instructions to NOT pay requested premium from XXXX XXXX and this was their mistake and they were required to fix it. At this point he proceeded to lie to me and tell me my XXXX XXXX policy expired on XX/XX/XXXX. The is incorrect, I will attach a copy of the XXXX XXXX policy which shows the current policy was in effect until XXXX XXXX, XXXX. This means he lied about the expiration of my policy. He further lied about the reason the bank paid the XXXX XXXX policy on the XXXX. He informed me my current XXXX XXXX policy was expiring on XXXX XXXX, XXXX and that is why the bank was forced to pay it, " to avoid liability from lapse of coverage. '' I will attach the documentation from XXXX XXXX proving that all this XXXX XXXX did was get on the telephone and lie to attempt to cover up the mistakes made by M & T Bank related to servicing the escrow account attached to my mortgage. The resolution I require is that M & T Bank recover the errant payment from XXXX XXXX and credit to my escrow account. ASSOCIATED FACTS : At the end of my XXXX policy year M & T Bank disbursed a payment to XXXX XXXX for a policy I never purchased from XXXX. I had to contact M & T Bank to ask them to recover the funds they disbursed for a policy I never purchased. The XXXX XXXX XXXX was issued and in-force on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. M & T Bank claims the XXXX XXXX XXXX took 12 mailing days to be received from XXXX, and was received on XX/XX/XXXX. M & T Bank representatives have been caught in two lies regarding this matter already. On my XXXX of XXXX, XXXX call I was told the hold would be placed on my account until XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I remember noting this clearly because the date was after the XXXX Holiday which gave me plenty of time to get replacement insurance. During my call of XX/XX/XXXX I was told the representative " Mis-spoke ''. On my XXXX XXXX, XXXX call I was told the representative XXXX XXXX " Mis-spoke '' when he informed me that my XXXX XXXX insurance policy expired on the XXXX of XXXX and that is why the policy to XXXX XXXX that was supposed to be on hold was paid.
