Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing issue

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: In response to my initial CFPB complaint on XX/XX/2023, LexisNexis requested additional proof of identitya clear copy of my driver 's license or social security card, along with the most recent utility bill or credit card statement indicating my current addressin their communication dated XX/XX/2023. This requirement, not stipulated on their website for accessing a consumer profile or initiating a dispute, raises serious concerns about their compliance with established procedures. In response to my complaint filed on XX/XX/2023, LexisNexis claims to have reached out via email on XX/XX/2023, but did not receive a response. I responded the same day requesting information verify the email was coming from LexisNexis/representative, since they were requesting sensitive identity information via email. I received no response. This discrepancy, along with their persistent refusal to grant access to my profile despite receiving all requested documents, points to a potential violation of federal laws and indicates the use of delaying tactics. They falsely claimed they did not receive a response when email records clearly indicate that I responded twice. In light of these facts, I urge the CFPB to investigate these violations by Lexis Nexis and ensure compliance with federal and state laws governing consumer rights and credit reporting standards. I seek immediate rectification of my consumer profile and appropriate measures against LexisNexis for their non-compliance and negligent handling of consumer information.

Consumer Complaint: I placed a Security Freeze on my Lexis Nexis/XXXX XXXX Report back on XX/XX/XXXX. If there is a Security Freeze placed on my consumer report, then Lexis Nexis does not have the authorization to share my consumer report or any information on my report with third parties. On Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX, I received a credit denial letter from XXXX stating that they obtained information from one or more consumer reporting agencies as part of their consideration of my application. The notification listed LexisNexis Risk Solutions Bureau, LLC and XXXX XXXX XXXX as their sources of reporting agencies. I have attached two documents : Proof that my Lexis Nexis Consumer Report has an ACTIVE SECURITY FREEZE since XX/XX/XXXX and Proof that Lexis Nexis/XXXX were listed as sources of consumer reporting agencies that provided my report under an ACTIVE SECURITY FREEZE.
