Consumer Complaint: So, my Chase Sapphire Preferred credit cards payment due date is the XXXX of each month. The statement date is the XXXX if each month. I paid it off in full on XX/XX/XXXX, all {$2900.00} of it. I made sure it the remaining balance was zero. And it stayed as such when I checked the next day which was also a business day to make sure that I was not charged interest. I am aware of the difference between the payment due date and the credit card statement date. I also made sure to not make new purchases on this credit card ending in XXXX so that the pending charges wouldnt get finalized right before the statement date, and I would avoid getting an interest charge. Well, Chase did it anyway. It was sneaky and slimy. This is a terrible and cheap way to earn more money for their business. If I made any charges to the card, it was many days prior to XX/XX/XXXX. The charges should have been finalized and added to my payment amount shown, but it was not. On my Chase app, I did not see ANY pending charges that day. Chase waited until AFTER I paid {$2900.00} on XX/XX/XXXX, to show my latest finalized charges ( from pending which wasnt shown at all ) just before XXXX XXXX statement balance so that they can conveniently charge me a {$33.00} interest fee. Consumers need more transparency ; being able to access our credit card expenditure history on demand is supposed to help us manage our credit card bills easier, but Chases deceptive and slimy sneak charge makes it difficult. I have a hard time trusting banks and credit card companies who do this. We as consumers deserve better. I and other hard working people do not have the time of day to argue with credit card company representatives who dodge each and every question. There needs to be accountability. We deserve to keep our money.

On XX/XX/XXXX I went to Chase bank and spoke with a relationship banker XXXX XXXX at XXXX and informed her of the situation, and provided her my EIN Conformation letter from the IRS. On XX/XX/XXXX I along with three other parties went to Chase bank and provided valid state issued Drivers Licenses to Chase relationship banker XXXX XXXX. Again I explained to The banker XXXX XXXX that my account was again restricted and Chase wanted me to step inside it's branch with the parties listed on the check and provide valid Identification and fill out an Hold Harmless letter and have it notarized by a banker and have the banker send it to Chase back office. Consumer Complaint: Approximately XXXX of XXXX I closed my Chase bank account. In XX/XX/XXXX my 401k provider mistakenly made a deposit of {$2100.00} into the now-closed account. The 401k has frozen my account until I can pay the funds back. I contacted Chase bank in XXXX of XXXX and Chase stated that the transfer had been reversed and the money returned to the 401k provider. After nearly a year of trying to co-ordinate appointments with the 401k provider and Chase bank together, in XX/XX/XXXX Chase stated that the funds had in fact not been returned to the 401k provider and had been sent to me as a check back in XXXX. I never received this check and on XX/XX/XXXX I had an appointment with either XXXX or XXXX at the Chase branch located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, MI. The specialist assigned to the case in the 401ks behalf was XXXX from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX The purpose of this meeting on XX/XX/XXXX was to sign an affidavit stating I did not receive the check and to cancel the check and have a new one reissued. So, I show up to the appointment only to be told that the paper I need to sign requires a notary and that a notary was not currently on duty. Because I have a life and responsibilities of my own, I was unable to return to the branch until XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I returned to Chase and spoke with XXXX XXXX. XXXX was very helpful, we got the paperwork signed and notarized and Billings followed up with my by phone later that day and told me that the Chase back office stated the check would be re-issued in 10-14 days. It has now been nearly a month and no sign of the check, and a year since Chase initially claimed that the money had already been sent back to my 401k. Cumulatively, I have spent roughly 20 hours of my own time getting this issue sorted out. At the end of the day this isnt my money or a problem created as a result of any action taken on my part. XXXX XXXX XXXX 401k program fat fingered a deposit to an account Chase failed to close when I called and closed the account. Everyone at the XXXX XXXX XXXX and everyone at Chase bank is getting paid to give me the runaround and fix their mistakes free of charge.
