Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I applied for a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX card from XXXX. On XX/XX/2023 I was approved for this card. The offer shows XXXX points with XXXX once a certain dollar amount was spent. Within 45 days I spent the required {$3000.00} with the card and received only XXXX bonus points. I contacted them immediately and they informed me that I did not qualify for the offer I applied for. No notice was given to me until XXXX in the form of a notice through the credit card website. The problem I have is had they notified me that the card was not approved under the terms of the offer I would not have followed through with the charges I applied to this card. I merely would have canceled the card but now that I have that on my credit report I expect them to step up and follow through with the offer that I applied for. I was misled by this offer and I dont believe they ever had any intention of giving me what I applied for.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I received a letter from Chase Freedom Visa Platinum that they were unable to approve this account. I never applied for this credit card. The letter is dated XX/XX/2023. The application apparently had my previous married name with a middle initial, which I do not have a middle initial. My street address was correct, but the city was the township I live in. Apparently the person that filled out the application has their last four digits on the application as XXXX. This also is not my social security number. I called Chase bank and explained that this must be identity theft as I did not apply for a credit card. They referred me to the Fraud Department where I made a report and they sent me a " kit '' that I must follow in order for them to send me a copy of the application details. You are my first of many items I must complete in order to try to resolve this problem. Just a note : this happened to me last year with XXXX XXXX XXXX and the same last four social security numbers ( XXXX ) were used. I did not get the application information from XXXX as I had put a Fraud Alert on my credit and bank accounts.

Issue: Charged fees or interest you didn't expect
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: I was double charged interest of My Chase Loan. The interest over charged in XX/XX/2023 is {$48.00}, in XX/XX/2023 is {$43.00}, in XX/XX/2023 is {$16.00}. First, I called chase. 2 of 5 the account manager wants to refund me but couldn't because the charge is setting by system. Other 3 did not even know the detailed terms of My Chase Loan. They just saying the amount is showing not charging. But the equation showed in statements shows the interest was charged in addition to my monthly installments. And the installments contains the interest. I also wrote security message to Chase through App. The representative XXXX just saying it is right without answering my questions about why I need to pay additonal interest besides monthly installment. My Chase Loan supposed to pay interest rate in monthly installment not in additional charge. He is just rudely answer it is a fee. But My Chase Loan does not have any fee except monthly installments. I then pointed the statement error to their mail service. I asked 3 questions : Why I need pay interest in addition to monthly installment containing interest already? Why the balance to calculate interest is much higher than what it should? If My Chase Loan is treated as cash balance transfer, why Chase did not point out in documentation? I just got an answer which did not answer any of the question. It is said that the balance calculated for interest is not the balance you have for the credit card, which I know for sure. For the 3 month and 3 way contact method, none of these is answering my questions and usually arbitraited and shows no knowledge of their product.

Issue: Money was not available when promised
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: We began using WePay by Chase as our online processing company through authorize.net on XX/XX/XXXX. We had one {$22.00} chargeback in XXXX of XXXX because a customer didn't recognize the charge name on their statement, which they later came in and paid. WePay by Chase has processed roughly {$78000.00} through their services. On XX/XX/XXXX we received an email stating that we were deemed high risk since we were an online auction company and they would no longer be processing payments through our site, however, they collected payments from XX/XX/XXXX up through XX/XX/XXXX, the date in which they notified us that we were high risk, and we, not knowing that they were going to do this, released the merchandise to the customer. Upon contacting WePay, they state that they will release the funds after 120 days. At this point we filed a complaint with the CFRB and we were contacted by someone from Chases ' Executive Resolution Team who also stated that it would be 120 days. It has now been 124 days and WePay has still not released the money. The original reason I was given was that they did not know that if we still had the same account to deposit the money into ( which doesn't make sense, since we have a merchant service account with Chase which owns WePay, additionally, every state in the union has an unclaimed property division so if the deposit were rejected then it would go into that account ). They stated that we had to put in a request to have the money deposited. Now we are being told that they will review the account by XX/XX/XXXX to determine if the funds can be released. This is beyond the 120 days that we were initially told by Wepay as well as the representative from the Executive Resolution Team. Based on the previously statements made by Wepays ' representatives as well as the representative from the executive resolution of Chase, it would appear from the outside looking in that WePay is counting on X number of companies to not follow-up with them, Knowing this, we can not in good conscience not file a complaint with State Senator XXXX XXXX XXXX as well as the Ohio Attorney Generals ' office regarding these business practices.

Subissue: Problem with rewards from credit card
Consumer Complaint: When reviewing my credit card statement, I noticed I had only received 3x rewards on travel when my credit card benefits entitle me to 5x for travel booked through their website. When I spoke to a representative, she said 3x are the base reward points and I'd have to wait 1-2 statement cycles to receive the remaining rewards. This is the first I've heard of this since opening my credit card in XXXX. Additionally, I receive 2x points on all other travel, therefore the explanation of " 3x being the base points '' didn't make sense to me. When I asked the representative if this was explained anywhere on the website, she said yes, but failed to direct me to its location. I reviewed the terms and conditions of my credit card benefits to no avail. If what the representative said is true, then I will wait for the following statement cycle to receive the additional points ; however, this practice of crediting partial points is misleading and is not clearly described on the website. I'm waiting for additional credit on the following purchases : XX/XX/XXXX - {$780.00} XX/XX/XXXX - {$230.00} XX/XX/XXXX - {$900.00}

Consumer Complaint: From XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX I successfully sent monthly bill pay checks from Chase Bank to my Landlord for my office rent. The checks were issued by Chase and mailed via USPS to a mailbox store ( not post office ) named 'XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ' at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX WA XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX my Landlord emailed me to tell me that there were two missing checks for XX/XX/XXXX. I investigated and learned that one of the 'missing " rent checks had been cashed. I was able to see a photo of the cancelled/cashed check, and learned that it had been fraudulently altered prior to being cashed, and was inappropriately accepted by a bank. The addressee had been changed from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ' to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ' ( A XXXX search of XXXX XXXX reveals that he is a convicted burglar in XXXX XXXX XXXX WA ) XXXX I called the mailbox store and learned that there had been a store break-in in early XXXX and all the mail was stolen, and the local police had been notified. I filed a fraud report with my bank ( Chase ) on XX/XX/XXXX ( With an update on XX/XX/XXXX ) and was assigned a claim number XXXX. Later, I received a letter from Chase ( Dated XX/XX/XXXX ) that my case had been investigated/concluded, and it was determined that the check had been authorized, and NO adjustment would be made. It is my opinion that Chase should have recognized that the check was altered, and should not have accepted it.
